Post by bunniefuu »

Mack!
[birds chirping]

[telephone ringing]

-Hello? -Mrs. MacKenzie. Good morning.

This is Tom Ryan.

May I speak with Mack, please?

I'm sorry, Tom.

He left early for an appointment.

At his office?

I'm not sure.

I'll try there anyway. Thank you.

[tense music]

[keys clacking]

[telephone ringing]

-MacKenzie Law Office. -Peggy, is Mack there?

Oh, hi, Karen. No. He hasn't come in yet.

Look, Peggy. If Tom Ryan calls...

Hold on. There's the other line. It might be Mack.

-Peggy! -MacKenzie Law Office.

Tom Ryan for Mack McKenzie, please.

He isn't here.

I think he came in early and went out for an appointment.

-Would you have him call me? -Of course, detective.

-I'm back. -Peggy. Look.

If a Tom Ryan calls--

That was him.

-What'd you say? -That he was here and gone.

That he went out for an appointment.

-Thank you. -Karen, what's happening?

Mack left me a note.

He said he was going away and not to worry.

Look, I'll call you back when I know something.

Just tell people he's in a meeting

or research or something.

-Sure. -Thanks.

[music continues]

[keys clacking]

[telephone ringing]

Hello?

Is... Is this...

Karen?

-Yes. -Hi, it's Kate.

Oh, Kate. Um... Is Gary there?

Um, no, no. He's not.

The nanny quit, so I'm looking after the kids while he's away.

W-- where did he go?

Florida.

Florida?

When did he leave?

He left really early this morning.

[whispering] Oh, no. Mack.

[theme music]

Oh, man.

-Look at this. -Look at this.

Well, they spelled your name right.

What do you want?

I'm still romancing the players

in this Stoner Avenue project.

They read their name in the paper.

Honey, can we talk about tonight?

-Tonight? -Yeah.

Our little jaunt up the coast is all planned.

-Jaunt? -Yeah.

We're having dinner at Armando's overlooking the beach

and then we'll spend the night at the breakers--

I'm not going anywhere tonight.

Honey, we talked about this. We planned it.

-We... -You talked about it.

I didn't say no. This is the middle of the week.

I can't go anywhere in the middle of the week.

I have to go to work.

-Greg... -I have to go to work.

[sad piano music]

[crash]

[sobs]

[sniffles]

"Dear Gary.

"I'm sorry this is taking so long

"but I think I'm really on to something.

"Please don't be mad at me.

"I miss you and the twins so much.

Love you forever, Val."

-Anything else? -No.

Well, I guess that's it.

I didn't hear any bright ideas out of you this morning.

-What am I paying you for? -But so far you're not paying.

Did you submit a bill?

What do you expect?

All right, so how much am I gonna charge?

-What are you worth? -Come on, man.

I'm not gonna get all of it.

Hey, the first rule of capitalism, Flint

know what you're worth.

Look. It's not that simple, all right?

I mean, you got Clifford over there

making three point seven million in his last season

and my mother, who's saving lives

every single day is making twenty-three five

in her best year.

Yeah, I said I'd paid a bill.

I didn't say I was gonna make this

a fair world to live in.

Just submit me the bill, son.

Listen.

There's this TV news woman waiting for me outside.

She wants to do a follow-up story

on the task force and I promise to give her

kind of like a guided tour of the sites.

- Bon voyage . -Hey.

I want you to come along with me.

You know, you can pump her full of details

and make sure that I don't call her a dame to her face.

Come on. It's for a good cause.

I'll give you an hour of my time.

I'll take it. Go ahead and make your phone call

and then I'll introduce you to her.

[telephone ringing]

-Hello? -Hi, it's Paige.

I just got your message from the office.

-What's up? -Have you seen Mack?

No. Why?

-I think he's jumped bail. -What?

I woke up this morning. He was gone.

He left me a note saying he was going away

and not to worry.

Well, did you have any idea where he went?

Well, Gary left for Florida this morning.

-Maybe h-- he went with him. -Why would Matt go to Florida?

Well, Mary is from Florida.

and I'm guessing he's trying to find Joe.

Oh, God.

And Tom Ryan is looking for him.

It's only a matter of time before he finds out

he's not here.

-Okay. I'll take care of Tom. -How?

I don't know but I'll call you later.

Come on, Matheson. We're waiting.

I'm sorry. That was the office. I got to go back.

-Now? -Yeah, I'm afraid so.

What, are you gonna throw me to the media wolves?

Hey, you can eat those guys for lunch.

[Paige] Tom.

What now?

I wanna apologize.

Hey, Finley, do me a favor. Set me up for a physical.

-My hearing is going. -I mean it.

I overreacted the other night.

I was out of line myself.

I shouldn't have tried to kiss you like that.

Yeah, but still you were trying to help Mack out

and, well...

I let our personal history get in the way.

All right, so...

What now?

-Truce? -Really?

I mean, my father's life is at stake.

I mean, you're the only one who can help

or at least is trying.

We've gotta get along. Is that so hard to believe?

-No. -Okay.

So where is your father?

I've been looking for him all morning.

I don't know. Why? What do you need him for?

I just had to ask him a few questions.

About what?

The marked money.

More of it is turning up.

Where? When?

As a matter of fact, I'm on my way right now.

Where are you going?

-Hollywood Park. -I'm gonna come with you.

It's a police business. I-- I can't bring a date.

I'll let you know what happens.

[sighs]

[hip hop music]

Things seem to be at a standstill here too, Mr. Sumner.

Well, let's see what's going on.

-You ready? Let's go. -[cameraman] Yes.

What's going on here, fellas?

I thought we were supposed to start demolition

on this dump this morning.

Don't ask me. We were just told to wait here.

-Where's Ewing? -Haven't seen him.

That's great.

I can see why nothing's changed in nine months.

We can fix that.

[music continues]

[engine rumbling]

Oh, come on. What's he doing? Mr. Sumner.

I wouldn't do that if I were you.

Someone might get hurt.

Valentine, get out of the way.

[clunks]

[engine rumbling]

You b*stard!

Come on, you want me out? Come get me!

-I'm ready for you! -Come on.

Come on!

-No. No. -You see now what's going on?

I don't know, but we got to stop it.

-Hey! -Hey!

[fence clanking]

-Stop it now. -No! Stop!

-There are people in there! -Let go! They're in there.

-What? -There's still people in there.

[Mr. Carter] Gonna steam roll us! Over the flowers!

Get rid of the little people, is that it?

Sir, wait a minute.

Who do you people think you are?

It was a mistake. I didn't know you were in there.

What's up? What's up?

I thought this had all been taken care of.

Just snap your fingers and we'll go away?

-Is that it? -No, that's not it.

Trying to kick me out of my neighborhood?

-My home? -Listen, Mister...

-Carter. -Listen, Mr. Carter.

With all due respect

there's not much left of a neighborhood.

Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter. Look.

I-- I'm sorry for the mixer.

-Really, I am. -He tried to crush me.

Look, Mr. Carter, it was just a misunderstanding.

You've got to believe me. Can we just talk about it?

Come on, we'll go inside and we'll talk, huh?

Tom, did you get it?

-Mm-hmm. I got it. -Good.

[announcer] ...passed Laguna Bow and they come.

Beautiful Susan and Mandela's Prodigy leading.

Rico Shaw going well, Mandine too.

Then five-winning Justantine can find no more.

Lucky Rainbow's court wide and Nasty Red Homewood's well.

Beautiful Susan at the rail, Mandela's Prodigy.

Rico Shaw looking desperately for room between horses.

Beautiful Susan, Rico Shaw now squeezing through

and Rico Shaw is flying from the three horses.

Rico Shaw's the winner, ladies and gentlemen.

We did it!

[howling]

[upbeat music]

What took you so long?

[telephone ringing]

-Hello? - Kate.

This is Karen again.

Do you have a number for Gary in Florida?

Yeah, I think it's the motel where he's staying.

Could you give it to me?

Sure. Hold on. Let me look.

I know it's in here somewhere. Here it is.

Um... Nine, oh, four

five, five, five, one, two, three, four.

-Thanks. - Is there anything I can do?

No. No. Thanks.

[eerie music]

-Go home, Paige. -I'm here. Let me help.

-Go home. -This is a big park, Tom.

You're gonna need help finding him.

And we could split up, spread out.

We can cover more ground that way.

Why are we stopping here?

Because these are the windows

where the marked money is turning out.

[Paige] Oh.

So? So what do we do now?

So now I stand here and keep an eye open

and you go to your car and you go home.

[chatter on PA]

Hello, is this the Flamingo Dunes motel?

Do you have a MacKenzie registered there?

Well, how about a Ewing?

Is he in?

Oh, well, would you give him a message, please?

Tell him to call Karen. It's very important.

I'll give you my number.

Sorry. I'm late. I...

Did you know those bozos were still in their house?

-You mean the Carters? -Yeah, the Carters.

They're not bozos. They're wonderful people.

They're just a little scared and confused.

Yeah, well, thanks to those wonderful people

the sports complex, the task force

and your uncle are about to be crucified.

I'll go see them again. I'm sure they'll come around.

What are you smirking at? You think you can do better?

-Maybe. -Yeah?

Well then get up and get out of here the both of you.

You need to convince these people

that what they're doing is a bad idea.

Come on.

[engine rumbling]

Mr. Carter, I'm terribly sorry about this morning.

It was a horrible mistake.

Yes, it was. What do you want?

-This is Darryn Flint and he's-- -Let me guess.

He works for the sports complex.

Hey, Adele, maybe we can get jobs at the sports complex.

All right, look, I don't work for the sports complex

or the task force or any of them.

Well, just who do you work for?

For the community.

Which is what I wanna talk to you about.

You can say whatever you want.

Ain't gonna make no difference.

Mr. Carter, we're just a little confused

by what happened.

When I left the other day

I thought we had everything worked out.

-Well, we didn't. -But Mr. Carter--

Don't you Mr. Carter him.

Before you know it, he'll say yes

and turn around and change his mind again.

Never could say no to pretty girls.

All right, well, look, in that case...

Would you excuse us for a few moments?

I'll be out front in two seconds, all right?

Excuse me.

[gentle music]

Mm-hmm.

Just stay still.

No, no. I'm sorry, Anne. You just don't need this.

What's the matter?

Well, that's the point. Nothing at all.

You don't need a lift or a tuck.

Well, that's easy for you to say.

No, it's true. You're a very beautiful woman.

I just cannot recommend any of these procedures.

Dr. Pillinger, I did not come here for a testimonial.

-I came here for results. -Anne.

No ethical doctor will do what you want.

We'll see about that.

Look, I know it's none of my business, but...

What?

When a woman with your beauty comes in here

it generally means one thing.

That her beauty is going unappreciated.

[music continues]

-What happened? -It's all set.

What? You're joking?

Nope. They're packing right now.

What... What do you mean? What did you say?

I just got them to listen to reason.

Come on. Let's go.

[bugle music]

[announcer] The horses for the fourth race

now coming onto the track.

There is a two-dollar exacta wagering

and today's fourth race begins The Big Six.

Scratch Number Four Elvis and Thierry.

Elvis and Thierry, Number Four has been tracked...

[sighs] This is hopeless.

Well, it's not. He's right there.

-Where? -Blue jacket, straw hat.

Now what?

-I bust him. -What, in this crowd?

You can't just walk up to him and bust him.

[Paige] What if he tries to make a break for it?

You won't be able to sh**t at him.

[Tom] He's not going anywhere.

-Leave this to me. -Paige. Paige.

[upbeat music]

[laughter]

-What we got here? -So what about this one?

-What does that mean? -Okay, that means he's a mutter.

Unfortunately, in California.

Excuse me, I couldn't help overhearing.

Check this out.

You know, I'm just dying to learn about the horses

and you sound so knowledgeable.

Get lost, honey.

Joe, come on. We're gonna be late for post time.

Please, Joe, could you teach me?

Girls, just go place your bets.

Put five hundred on number two across the board.

-Go on now. Go on out. Here. -Joe...

I'll meet you back at the seats. It's okay.

[music continues]

[indistinct chatter]

Excuse me?

What are you doing here?

-I work here now. -Oh.

Is Nick running an extortion business on the side?

No, but we're talking.

-I didn't know you knew him. -For quite a while, actually.

Well, I'm sure your extensive managerial skills

will come in handy.

Is he around?

No, he's not.

-Did he say when he'd be back? -No, he didn't.

-A table for one then. -Of course.

Well, right this way.

-Will this be all right? -Fine.

Can I get you anything from the bar?

-Glass of white wine, please. -Very good.

Not that it'll mean anything to you

but I am sorry.

Sorry?

-About what? -My little scheme.

[laughs]

Of course you're sorry.

-Sorry it didn't work. -No, I mean it.

I did what I did because I was desperate.

Well, I've been desperate too, Vanessa.

I know.

Please sit down.

Thank you.

I really admire you, you know.

Well, that admiration is the basis of our friendship.

I admire the way you saved yourself.

You did what you had to do.

Posing for those infamous photographs

and parlaying them into celebrity

and finally, your own radio show.

To me, that shows great character.

[chuckles] Well, maybe I should run for office.

It's not easy being beautiful.

People envy you for it, hate you.

And they refuse to give you credit for anything else.

Brains or courage.

Yes.

Whether you believe me or not, I really do like you, Anne.

Enormously.

Well, I like you too, Vanessa.

Now how about that glass of wine?

Yes.

Oh, I can't let you give me money to bet.

Sure you can, it's just part of your education.

Well, you are very, very generous.

Hey, I'm just that kind of guy. Where are we going?

Because the windows out here.

Well, I just wanted the opportunity to thank you.

All right, Joseph Robeson, I'm placing you under arrest

for the investigation of grand theft.

Place your left hand behind your head.

You have the right to remain silent.

[shrieking]

[telephone ringing]

Hello?

This is Meg. Who's this?

Hold on. I'll get it. Mom. Phone for you.

-Who is it? -I don't know.

-Some motel person or something. -Hello.

Yes, thank you so much for calling me back.

Did you get my message t-- to Mr. Ewing?

Where'd he go?

Did he leave a number?

Look, let me just get right to the point.

Did you see a man with him, Mr. MacKenzie?

Tall, curly hair.

Well, then just ask your wife if she did.

Thank you.

S-- she did. She saw him.

Well, are you sure?

Oh, look, I-- I just want to ask one more...

Damn.

He saw daddy.

-What? -That man saw daddy in Florida.

He said, he had been there, didn't he?

Well...

Why is daddy in Florida?

-I don't know. -He promised me.

He said he'd never go away again.

He broke his promise and you made him go away.

[door closes]

[gentle music]

I wanna call my lawyer.

There's a long line at the pay phones right now, Joe.

I only have a few more questions for you.

I already told you everything I know.

Yeah, you know you tell it so well

I'd like to hear it again.

Now, when was the last time you saw Mary?

The day before she was k*lled.

Where did you go after that, Joe?

To the motel in Inglewood.

Why there, Joe?

For a little vacation next to the track.

And where did you get

all that money that you had to play with?

-I took out all my savings. -All your savings?

Four hundred and seventy-eight thousand three hundred dollars.

What are you talking about?

-We found it, Joe. -You found what?

The money in your room at the Ritz-Carlton.

The money that you took from your sister

the very night you k*lled her.

[shouting] She gave it to me, man.

-She gave... It's the truth. -Sit down. Sit down.

It's the truth. I swear.

If it was the truth

why are you getting so upset, Joe?

You just accused me of m*rder, man.

I just found out my sister was dead.

-I mean, who wouldn't be upset? -You know why you're upset, Joe?

-Can you please... -Here's why you're upset.

You k*lled your own sister and called Rod.

Yes, you did and you know I'm putting you away.

-You're a m*rder*r! -I swear. I swear I didn't.

Please. I swear I didn't.

She was my sister and I loved her.

I swear.

-I don't believe you, Joe. -I swear.

I swear. Please. I swear.

[whispering] I swear.

[sobs]

Can I call you a cab?

Not to worry.

I have a car and driver outside.

I wish we'd talked like this before.

What color would you say this is?

-Peach? -Anne.

I'm worried about you.

Does your caring have no limits?

-I mean it. -You're worried?

Why?

There are things that could happen.

Yes, there are.

Precisely what did you have in mind?

Things could happen

to those around you.

The people you love.

Bad things. Trust no one, Anne.

I haven't trusted anyone since the eight grade, dear.

Be especially careful of your friends.

Well, then there's no problem.

I don't have any friends.

I'm your friend.

Then I'll be especially careful of you.

[whispering] That girl needs help.

Tom.

-I thought you were going home. -Did Joe confess?

Nothing.

He says Mary gave him the money. He says he didn't k*ll her.

Well, he's lying. Go crack him. You know he did it.

I've gotta wait for his attorney to get here

before we can do any more questioning.

Oh, I can just imagine what kind of ambulance chaser

he's gonna be in.

-I need to speak to Mack too. -What for?

I have some questions for him.

Do you have any idea where he is?

I've been with you for the past four hours.

Remember?

Do me a favor and try to dig him up.

-Find him for me. -[Andrew] Detective Ryan?

-Yeah. -I'm Andrew Butler.

Mr. Robeson's attorney.

May I see him now?

Greg, I'm telling you, the subcontractors

are gonna make an issue out of it.

They're Sumner Group people.

Matheson's supposed to be dealing with this.

Where the hell is she? Shapiro, did you find Matheson?

- She hasn't called her office. -Did you find her?

- No. -You're fired.

Hey, this better be good news.

We're k*lling messengers right and left.

The Carters will be out by tomorrow evening.

Terrific. How did you handle that?

Well, I didn't do it. It was all Darryn.

-We just talked to him straight. -That's great.

Gotta let the press in on this. Get him off our back.

I'll get on right away.

Come on.

-Oh, I gotta go too. -Hey.

Doesn't anybody work a full day around here?

I gotta go meet the twins' bus.

-What twins? -Bobby and Betsy. Gary's kids.

What are you doing with them?

I'm helping out.

Gary went out of town suddenly, and he had housekeeper problems.

-So I just... I'm stepping in. -Why?

-Why? -Yeah. Why?

Because he's a friend and he needed help.

-A friend? -Yeah.

You sure that's all that's going on there?

This guy's old enough to be your grandfather.

I think I can handle it.

-You think? -I think.

And I wouldn't say anything if I were you.

-[telephone ringing] -Hello?

-Any word? -Nothing.

-Are you still at the station? -Yeah.

Tom thinks that he and Mack just haven't connected.

How are things going with Robeson?

I don't know. Tom's still in there with him.

I'm gonna hang around here till they're done

but I'll come over after, okay?

Thanks.

[sighs]

-Placing a bet? -[chuckles] Yeah. Yeah.

There's this two-year-old who's dropping down in class.

Can't miss. I'm wheeling him.

You've got quite an education today, didn't you?

Yeah, well... How's it going in there?

Robeson slurs during all the talking

so we're not gonna get any more information

out of him tonight.

So what now?

Now we wait till tomorrow. Try again.

And don't think I'm letting you hang around here.

I will call you when there's a break, okay?

Okay. Where are you going?

I'm gonna pay your old man a visit.

Oh, he's not home yet.

It'll be seven o'clock by the time I get there.

Yeah, but he had a business meeting.

That was him I just spoke to on the phone.

Where did you reach him?

-Oh, he called me. -Can I call him back somewhere?

No, but he might call me back.

Look, I was gonna go get something to eat.

-You wanna come? -I don't know.

On me.

-What are you up to? -Just dinner.

[chuckles]

You know, you're getting paranoid.

Come on, let's go.

I'm ready for you. Come on.

Come on. You want me out? Come get me.

My, my, my.

I look like an idiot.

-It's not that bad. -It's worse.

Who do you people think you are?

Not a pretty picture, is it, Bill?

Where do they get these babes?

I thought this woman liked me.

And now for his perspective, Stoddard Ericsson.

We have seen in Mr. Sumner's actions

eloquent testimony about what is wrong

with the task force.

I do not question Mr. Sumner's motives

but in his comments to a stubborn old man

in his snide words about our neighborhoods

we have been vividly and irrefutably shown

just how out of touch our task force leadership is

with the community it purports to serve.

It's not too late to make that drive up the coast.

Who you calling?

Yeah, Cliff. This is Greg.

Yeah, I'd like you to come over here.

Right now.

Well, drop it.

Yeah, yeah.

Bring Lofton and Lopez.

Bring all those other people with you.

All right. I'll see you here.

Forget about the truckers.

I'm gonna eat where cops do from now on.

Well, after you undercover work tonight

maybe you should join the force.

I think you enjoyed watching him call me.

Well, you did give the guy the thrill of a lifetime.

I'll say that.

The remainder of which he'll spend in prison.

-We hope. -I hope.

[Tom and Paige laugh]

Hey, Paige, have you ever thought

about what it might have been like

had we gone through with it?

-Marriage, you mean? -Mm-hmm.

Well, it would've been like life imprisonment.

[laughs]

-Is that what you think? -Don't you?

No.

No.

[cellphone ringing] Excuse me.

Hello?

Oh, hi, Cliff.

No, I can't.

Cliff. Cliff. I can't.

All right. All right. Okay.

I'll see you there in a little while.

Task force emergency. I gotta run.

So I heard Greg Sumner...

It's just like old times, isn't it?

What's that supposed to mean?

Well, you're running off to Greg Sumner.

Goodnight, Tom.

See ya.

Carlos, we'll have everybody out on the patio.

-Oh, very well, sir. -[doorbell ringing]

-I'll get that. You go ahead. -Okay.

-You got here in a hurry. -I brought you something.

-My bill. -Your bill?

You think you're worth this much?

Well, you don't think so? Don't pay, all right? I'll disappear.

So how did you get rid of the Carters?

I just reminded them that it's a very dangerous place

to live, which it is.

Did you threaten them?

-No. -You're telling me the truth?

Yeah, I am, but let me tell you something.

Man, I don't get all sentimental

just 'cause these people are old.

They're selfish and they gotta get out the way.

And they think that I'm cold-hearted.

Well, it's like that old Russian dude said.

If you wanna make some omelette, you got to break some eggs.

I like that.

-Here. -Thanks.

This is double what I asked for.

Well, it's like that old Russian dude said.

You gotta know what the market will bear.

Weather partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers.

[doorbell ringing]

Hi, Karen. Is Mack home?

-Where have you been? -Well, Joe Robeson was arrested.

Oh, yeah? What for?

So far, just for passing stolen money.

So Cliff said you wanted to have a meeting.

Excuse me, Mr. Sumner. There's a call for you.

Oh. Excuse me.

You just see what Miss Matheson will have.

Yes.

-Oh, nothing. Thanks, Carlos. -No? Very well.

Hello, Paige.

Hello, mother.

Thank you for the note.

I was really sorry to hear about the baby.

I guess I better go join the others.

-Paige? -Yeah?

[doorbell ringing]

[sad piano music]

Never mind.

-Gentlemen. -Good evening.

Mr. Sumner is waiting for you in the patio.

Can I get you anything to eat?

No, I just ate. Thank you.

Coffee?

No, thank you.

Look, I just don't know when Mack is coming home.

[music continues]

-Or if he's coming home. -What do you mean?

Mack has jumped bail, hasn't he?

Just came to me.

Hasn't he?

Anybody see that Ericsson guy on the tube tonight?

Greg, you can't listen to the press.

This time we can because I think he's right.

I don't belong down there.

-That's why I'm resigning. -Whoa. Wait a second, Greg.

Listen. This is not open for discussion.

You all are the ones who belong working down there

in the trenches, scoping things out

coming up with ideas and then trying

to find the money to get them done.

I belong up there in that ivory tower

saying no a lot, occasionally yes

and once in a while writing you guys a check.

The one thing we don't need is to see me

on the six o'clock news

as some bozo Lawrence of Arabia on a bulldozer.

That's ridiculous.

Any chance we might talk you out of this?

Your heart wouldn't be in it, Cliff

because you know I'm right.

There is one catch, though.

Got to keep him on the payroll.

He's my link.

-Agreed. -Yeah.

Listen, Carlos has put out a really lovely spread.

Why don't we all go in and get something to eat?

[gentle guitar music]

So?

Quite the bombshell.

Well, you gotta keep them on their toes.

So what are you going to do now?

-Can't see you taking up golf. -I'm gonna come back.

-Come back where? -To the Sumner Group.

Well, how are you gonna do that?

-You gave it away. -I'm gonna take it back.

-That ain't going to be easy. -Who needs easy?

Claudia's gonna fight you tooth and nail.

I like tooth and nail. Tooth and nail's my favorite.

I'm not so sure I'm thrilled about you coming back.

Oh, I like fighting you. The more the merrier.

I hope you still think that when it's all over.

[music continues]

Don't tell me. I know.

It's only business.

Call him up and tell him to get home.

-I don't know where he is. -I don't believe you.

-It's true. -Karen.

I'm gonna ask you one more time. Where is Mack?

I don't know.

You expect me to believe that Mack disappears

doesn't tell you where he's going

and hasn't called you to tell you where he is?

Yes.

-Fine. -What are you doing?

I'm getting a warrant for his arrest.

Please don't.

-[doorbell ringing] -That could be him.

-Sorry I'm so late. -Paige.

Tom Ryan is here and he won't believe

that I don't know where Mack is.

Let me speak to Nebbiolo, please.

What are you doing here?

You said you weren't coming tonight.

You think you're that smart, Paige?

You know what gave it away? When you stopped insulting me.

He's getting a warrant for Mack's arrest.

-You think that's gonna stop me? -Look, you know Mack.

He's not gonna just jump bail.

If he left town, he left for a very good reason.

Like what?

Like he's got some kind of lead.

L-like he's tracking down evidence to bust Joe Robeson.

Well, I'd love to see it.

[menacing music]

Look, you know Joe isn't cracking.

We need whatever Mack's got on him.

Sorry. Yeah.

This is Ryan for Nebbiolo again, please.

I know where he is.

Just give him one more day, please.

Lieutenant, hold on a second, please.

-It's Ryan. -He's not going anywhere.

He is not gonna flee the country.

Just give him 24 hours and then I'll tell you

where you can find him.
