[female narrator] Next on "The Real World.."

This last week, we're wrapping it up.

Good. Smile, please.

'Tami, everybody. Good. Oh!'

[Beth A.] "The Real World" in the sense of this project

is not over yet.

There's gonna be all the publicity

which I'm not going to read.

[Jon] Okay, this experience is over

but now it's gonna be on TV.

And it was, like, "Uh-oh.

What in the world have I done?"

[Dominic] This is the true story..

♪ True story ♪

[Tami] Of seven strangers..

[Jon] Picked to live in a house..

[Jon] Beth!

[Beth] And have their lives taped..

[Aaron] To find out what happens..

[Beth A.] When people stop being polite..

[Glen] And start getting real.

[male narrator] "The Real World," California.

[instrumental music]

[Aaron] 'Who took..? Is this the picture someone took?'

Probably when they were taking pictures downstairs.

You remember when they had that little..

Lookit. What a nice caption too.

"TV makes strange roommates. Jon, Beth and Glen."

"We meet three of the roommates on road trip in an RV.

"One Irish writer, one aspiring music star

and one prudish country singer."

[laughing]

Oh, my God.

[pop music]

"Prudish country singer."

[Jon] 'So, guys, am I prudish?'

- No. - Take off your shirt.

- 'Strip him naked.' - Come on.

[indistinct chatter]

Gimme my skirt back.

"A -year-old caterer who's a l*sbian

over her topless jaunt in a rooftop Jacuzzi."

[Tami] We have a Jacuzzi up there?

That's such a lie.

[Irene] 'It never happened between that Beth'

'it was the other Beth.'

So everybody's going to think the other Beth's a l*sbian.

Which? Stalarcyzk was topless too?

No, that never happened, she said.

According to TV guide, Beth Stalarcyzk is a l*sbian.

Please make sure that if anybody asks you

if it's true if I'm a l*sbian

please tell them that I'm not a l*sbian.

[Jon laughing] Are you worried about that?

No, Jon, this is not funny.

Guys from college called Erin and, and told her that, that

asked if that was true, if I was really a l*sbian.

Nothing wrong with being a l*sbian, Beth.

Sheer rumor.

We don't even have a Jacuzzi on the rooftop.

How could they even say that?

That was, that is not true, I've never been topless

and I've never been a l*sbian.

- Come on out the closet. - 'Shut up!'

You've been in the closet.

[Jon] 'All we need are two lesbians in the house.'

[instrumental music]

The minute they started talking about press and stuff

I got this really big blemish right here and I went

"Oh, my gosh, I'm panicking."

I don't think I'll read anything that's published

about this, I don't believe in media.

I'm excited about being in the g*y publications.

I read all the g*y publications, but, um, as a general..

I am just a little leery of the whole thing

what they portray of you.

What their judgments are gonna be

and I don't wanna know.

So..

[Glen] The press is gonna pass judgment on us

before they even view the rest of the episodes.

And hopefully, they will be fair enough that

as this show progresses they change their opinions

because nobody is stereotypical

and there shouldn't be stereotypes in this world.

- Hey, I'm handsome. - Oh, I know.

Oh, no. That was last year's cast.

- 'Full of crap.' - Damn!

[instrumental music]

You know what, I am gonna pack before Thursday

because that's the only way to get my room cleaned.

Well, I mean, though

because Thursday and Friday's busy

'Saturday's house night'

and Sunday we have to be out of here by o'clock.

- At night? - 'Yes.'

Which gives us all day.

No, we'll be at Aaron's graduation.

- This is a test. - What you talking about?

Payroll taxes, Jon.

Social security fees, .%. Flat tax.

Well, I can see that you're gonna bore me.

Medicare fee, ., .%.

FICA is ..

[Aaron] This is the day before finals week.

Just kind of a hectic week for me.

I'm graduating, my brother's getting married.

And we're finishing, uh, this project.

♪ Do you feel what I feel? ♪

♪ See what I see ♪♪

[Dominic] School, especially the stage where Aaron is at

is very important, and he's really concerned.

It's the culmination of possibly , years of school.

You don't wanna screw it up in the last couple of days.

[Aaron] In your exams, your grades are based upon, like I have a class

this quarter, % of my grade's based on the final exam.

So you'd better have a good day.

So, I kinda set goals for myself

and if I don't live up to that

I kind of feel like I've let myself down.

My parents have never put pressure on me

as far as school has gone.

When I was really young

I didn't really do that well at school.

And I remember when I was, like in fourth grade or something

I was in, in upper-level reading class

and some kid made a comment like

"You know what, what's Aaron doing in there?

He's just, you know, a stupid blond-headed kid."

And that kind of pissed me off.

And I was just, like, "Okay."

In high school, all I thought about was college.

Now, college, all I was thinking about

is getting a job and graduate school, so it's like

just this continual, not so much stress, but it's more, uh..

Just this thought towards the future.

Jon, you look so sad.

Well, this whole experience is about over in..

Last couple of days here.

Are you scared more of

the react, the reaction that people are going to have

after this, or you scared more of--

They're gonna form an opinion, and they don't really know me.

So, I mean, they just know what they see on the show, right?

This is who we were for, for weeks.

[Jon] Good times, bad times

and stressful, and everything else.

I mean, this was our life, and there's a part of you that

is little bit nervous about the whole world seeing it.

♪ Big city ♪

♪ Bright lights ♪

♪ Cool cool people ♪

♪ Big city ♪♪

So which way is Kentucky?

[Beth] 'Which way is Ohio?'

[Jon] Well, I think as a result of this experience

living in LA

I hopefully am a lot more open-minded to other ideas.

Ideas that are completely the opposite of mine.

[crowd cheering]

I think, out of all of us, Jon changed the most.

He was just exposed to a new city, different people

Beth Anthony being a l*sbian, all of it.

Yee-haw!

[Jon] I think now, I realize that just because that's my opinion

that's not necessarily right

or not necessarily right for everybody.

And I think, before this experience

I thought, "Well, this is the way I am

and this is pretty much the way everybody should be."

[Beth A.] From my experience of being here

Jon has probably changed his awareness a lot.

And that he's had a lot of opportunity

to think about life in general and his age

he's gonna be going through major changes.

You know what, I bet you there's a fight over there.

Look at all those people.

[horn blaring]

- Everybody's fighting. - A riot?

We did this in Boy Scouts after we'd camp.

We were trying to pick up all the trash

'so we all got in one line, and walked, picked up the trash.'

I don't think so, Jon.

I feel like I'm being chased. Are we being followed?

♪ Oh churches and steeples ♪

♪ Big city people ♪♪

They don't have this in Kentucky.

[Jon] Probably the people that I will keep in contact with

and people that I will consider my friends more than anybody

Beth S.

[Beth] I really will miss everybody.

But I'll miss, I think I'll miss Jon the most.

Everyone else, I don't know where they'll be

in five years from now.

♪ You where are you going? ♪

Dominic will probably, let's, I'll make Dominic

uh, a video jockey in, uh, in his spare time.

Dominic will probably come out with his own line

of shoes and hairstyles.

♪ Style sophistication ♪

♪ Afro puff ♪

No tie for you?

- Jon? - What's that?

Where should I put a tie?

I'll make Jon and Perch doing a concert.

♪ God gave rock and roll to you ♪♪

Perch headlining, of course.

[laughing]

I can picture Tami doing..

[instrumental music]

Have her own show with a bunch of girls

that are gonna run around and have attitude.

[Tami] 'I wanna see attitude.'

I wanna see some asses wiggling.

[laughing]

Beth S. will probably train kitties.

Instead of me going, "Kitty, kitty, kitty."

If I go, "Kitty, kitty, kitty"

then the cat'll listen.

Beth A., I don't know.

I haven't really thought about where Beth A. will be.

Beth Anthony's gonna be a firefighter.

♪ Fire ♪♪

Aaron, he'll convert to transvestitism.

Sky is the limit for anybody in this house, really.

[Aaron] Right now, it's extremely difficult to study here

so what I do is, I just, you know, I study on campus.

And for me, I mean, living in the house, I can't tell you

how many times I came back, you know

had a final one time or a mid-term

and we have a party till : in the morning.

I'm sleeping with my earplugs on.

Just going, "God, I can't believe I live here."

And it's just a nightmare.

What? No!

[screaming]

[screaming continues]

One earplug's not gonna work, man.

What?

One earplug.

I have both of 'em in now.

Oh, you have both.. Give us a look.

[Dominic] Aaron did say, "School, man

these are the best years of my life."

And Aaron has every right to be proud of where he is, you know.

He's got where he is by studying and really working.

How many, for how many of you this is probably the last exam

you'll ever take in your lifetime?

[whoops and applause]

[Aaron] Being my last final, and the whole quarter

I've been going through things and just saying

"This is last time I do this, and the last time I do that."

And to finally go, "This is my last final, I'm done"

was just a great feeling.

- I got my business cards today. - Yeah?

I meant to give you guys all my business cards.

Hey, gimme a call. Thanks.

- Oh yeah. Nice meeting you. - I appreciate it.

- It was good. - Yeah?

Enjoyed the firm, thank you.

You would laugh so hard when you do that.

'Cause you first start going to the interviews

and everybody's like, "Yeah, Ricky, Ricky."

"Ricky Robertson, nice to meet you, great."

Oh, oh! Ow!

You know, I'd, I'd..

Aaron's situation, I mean..

The guy is so intelligent, people are offering him jobs.

♪ Hey there here I am ♪

♪ I'm a man on the scene ♪

♪ I can give you what you want ♪

♪ But you gotta come home to me ♪

[Dominic] Aaron's been my, probably my best friend

in this house. We've tried to keep each other sane

throughout the whole five months.

I review television for "Daily Variety"

and my editor called me last week and asked me if I would

consider writing a story regarding my experiences

over the last five months.

That's great. The whole first paragraph is incredible.

[Dominic] I wanted to try and explain to people

the circumstances we're living under.

We're not, you know, actors or anything.

Ah!

We just were given an opportunity

to live in this house.

It sounded like a really good opportunity and we did it.

Walk around, I want you pointing at different locations

like right here.

♪ Let me put it to you like this sugar ♪♪

I was trying to get the focus in, something got in my way.

Dominic!

He likes to party. At times, he gets too tensed I think.

He needs to party a little bit more.

- No, I'm just kidding. - Yes!

Dom's just a great guy.

Uh, we sorta came from the same background.

And the way we feel about our families

I found somebody else in life that feels the same way.

Anybody who wads his socks up and throws them in the washer

and they still come out like this.

I just don't see the point at all.

- Who are you talkin' about? - What?

You wad up your, you put your socks in a ball

you throw them in the washer, and it will come out--

That's happened once or twice.

No, I've seen it like four times.

♪ Just trunks of memories still to come ♪

♪ We found things to do ♪

♪ In stormy weather ♪

♪ Long may you run ♪

[Aaron] For me, I would do this again

because of the fact that I've made new best friends.

Sole survivors.

Don't you think you're gonna miss us when you move out?

Oh, hell, yeah!

- I mean, you'll be happy. - No, no, I'm serious.

- But you will miss us? - No, I'm absolutely serious.

I'm gonna miss you guys.

I mean, I'll never forget people like, like Dominic

and, and, and, Tami, I mean, how can you?

That reality of, of Tami and Dominic standing

on my front doorstep, no one else was at my home.

Tami and Dominic were right there. They met my family.

And, uh, were actually where I, where I am every day.

Where I call home.

Something very personal to me like that.

Just the fact that they were there

and, and experienced that part of my life

that I will remember them.

[Tami] I think I really had the wrong idea about Jon

coming into this situation.

You don't call somebody trash.

- 'I didn't call you trash.' - Yes, you did.

He's not anything like I thought he was.

He's not a r*cist.

Uh, he's, he's just a cool guy.

And he's supported me in a lot of issues throughout the house.

Anything else on your mind, Dom?

I've told you I don't, like, I don't enjoy your..

But I can say you're a nasal twang.

Dom, is there anything else about me you just can't stand?

No, Jon. Jon, I like everything about you.

All I said was..

- Except my nasal twang. - No, no.

Who am I? I mean, who am I?

Yeah, I never met a reviewer who was qualified

to review other people.

All you do is sit there and listen to other people

and criticize it, you don't actually do..

I love you, Jon.

Jon, that's because..

Jon!

[Tami] 'Now, this is the big old buddy I remember.'

[Aaron] It's kind of a weird feeling, I've been anticipating

graduating for so long

and I'm finally gonna be graduating.

I'm moving on to a completely different realm of my life.

It's frightening, I mean, there's different stages

in your life where there's like a big transition.

And this will probably be the biggest transition for me.

Would you mind driving, so that we can all ride?

[Dominic] Sunday morning was our last day together.

It's the culmination of, huge part of Aaron's life.

His graduation.

And I'm really excited for him.

It's a huge special day for him.

I think it's really generous of him

to let us, you know, be a part of it

and share it with us.

[instrumental music]

[Aaron] It was really important to me.

It made me feel really good that everybody was there

just supporting me.

I was walking in and seeing everybody, you know

waving and clapping.

There's a lot of emotion.

For me, I think about how many sacrifices my parents

have made for me, as far as school.

You look up and you see your parents

how happy they are.

And it, it becomes very emotional.

And for me, it was.

[applause]

Of course I'm sentimental, but I'm happy.

[Beth A.] Happily sentimental.

[Aaron] It was really hard for me not to, you know

parallel that to my graduation, the mini-graduation

of this whole experience.

The beauty about this experience is the fact that

being challenged by people

that are very different from myself.

You know, we're all guilty, even if you..

you're the most liberal of liberals

you still have pre-conceived notions of what people are

when you look at them.

And if this process doesn't wipe that completely

outta your mind, nothing will.

I'm not taking any phone calls right now.

[Dominic] 'Oh, Stalarcyzk's not taking calls.'

I think we're all learning the art of communication.

Because as soon as we moved in here

it just started on a bad note.

Tell me, man. Tell me.

And the whole thing with David

and everybody had their guards up

and their defenses going.

[Tami] Initially coming into this experience, the one thing

I wanted to do was a little self-improvement.

And to learn how others view me.

You know what your mother says.

And you know what your friends say.

But you don't take them seriously

because they're your friends, or they're your mom.

And coming into a situation with six other people

who don't know anything about you and to hear

what they think of you, how they perceive you

can really change you.

That's exactly what's happened to me.

It's changed me for the better.

This experience has helped me to learn that

to communicate with people around you and to understand

that they are supportive of you.

All you have to do is say, this is something I wanna do

and they're gonna be there for you.

From this, I've learned a lot about communication.

I'm taking with me, that I can live with, um, people.

I can work with people, that are completely

different than me.

[Jon] When I think about all our roommates as a group

I think that, you know, we're all young people

searching and trying to attain

what we want out of life.

And I think that, more than anything

this experience has helped us to learn to

co-operate with other people and respect other people.

- Can you shut that? - We're rolling now.

This isn't like a still frame where you can stay there.

I can see you all now. That's perfect, right there.

Make it brief, guys.

Oh, yeah, it feels good.

- Tami, go ahead. - Tami, go.

I don't know what to say.

Well, that's been the way for weeks.

- I'll go first. - Shocker.

Okay, uh..

No, I want to just say something that's sincere.

[Dominic] Okay, as of this moment we're all leaving this house.

[Jon] Insane.

[Aaron] Are we gonna say something sincere?

[Tami] I was gonna say sincere moments now.

[Jon] This is the last day, the last moments

of our experience in this house.

And as you can tell, we love one another.

[Aaron] Are we gonna say something sincere?

- 'Who farted?' - 'I didn't.'

[Tami] There go those sincere moments.

No, I mean, it's just a little too immature.

I can't, just forget it. You guys do whatever you want.

Wait, don't you leave. Don't you leave.

- You guys talk. - Well, it's over.

That's how we went out.

Okay, everybody, I know that we argued and we all had like

little confrontations with each other over something about

this big, but I really do care about everybody and I hope that

everybody gets, succeeds, and I'm getting all misty-eyed.

Succeeds at everything you do, and congratulations to you.

And I love you guys.

[Beth] It's really hitting me that this is over.

It's kind of like some kind of dream, like I'm gonna wake up

and this was all some kind of dream.

[Glen] The whole experience, to get value out of it

you've gotta let go of it.

I actually think some people have a hard time

letting go of it.

[Jon] What do you say when it's over and you've gotten so much

and there's not really anything for you to say?

It's just, it was great, that's all.
