I decide to do an embroidery

Technique that I've never done

For clothing before.

I've only done it on bags.

And I call it "thread painting."

The first thing I need to do

Is get that love letter written

Onto my fabric.

I'm making an evening gown--

White, full-length.

I love it.

That's such a beautiful idea.

That's beautiful.

Is this just glue g*n?

I want to be able to mimic

The water and just really create

This beautiful texture that can

Be translated into lace.

Going glamping, immediately,

I see lanterns and exposed bulb

Lights hanging in the trees.

And then, you have these

Beautiful white tents that are

There with draped front

Openings.

To me, it was just, like,

Depictive of a vintage african

Safari.

And so I created this drape-y

Dress, leather detail, that what

Felt to me like that "vintage

Safari" look, and then did an

Ombre dye into a bright yellow

To give that effect of the

Sunlight.

She looks trashy to me.

Oh.

Like, this long hair with

So much makeup.

I think that you couldn't

Make up your mind whether you

Wanted her to go to the beach or

To the rodeo.

She's wearing, you know--

It looks like a beach dress,

But then she has the leather

Harness and the cowboy boots.

You've got two conflicting

Stories there.

I do get the yellow sunset of

Opening your curtains, and that

Experience.

But it's a little bit of runny

Eggs, the ombre.

I think a little bit of her

Femininity was lost in the

Piece.

And I would've liked to see if

Maybe the tailoring of the

Fabric could've been taken in a

Little bit on the sides to just

Show off her body a little bit.

Inspiration and your look.

What I was thinking primarily

Was about my space and position

On this planet and about the

Planet as a whole.

Kind of the smallest essence of

That, to me, was my family.

So I wrote a love letter to

My husband and my children.

One of the things he talks

About is that I can never tell

Him enough, during the days, how

Much I love him, and I forget

To tell him.

I haven't done a bias-cut

Gown for many, many years.

It was a real challenge.

You haven't done bias in a

While.

You did it very well in the

Timeframe.

It's not easy to sew.

It's beautiful.

It feels very personal.

Yes.

It feels very authentic.

When you see this dress, it--

It gives you an emotion.

I am crazy about the little

Row of buttons on the side.

It was breathtaking, I mean,

When it turned the corner.

And I agree with nina.

I'm obsessed with the buttons.

It is super chic, super

Feminine, very fluid, and so

Pretty and elegant.

It is stunning.

I got my sketchbook and I sat

By the river stream, and I

Glanced up and I saw the

Different cliffs and the

Different layers and everything.

And that's what actually

Inspired the structure detail

That goes on here.

I am sorry.

I am not thrilled with this

Look.

This part here is very heavy.

Can I see her in profile?

It's so heavy, it's

Overpowering this dress.

I had written on my card, I

Said "frog queen."

You know, it looks sort of like

A squished frog to me, with the

Red squirting out.

This is a part of a woman's

Body that sometimes likes to be

Uncrowded.

I don't know, it would've been

Nice to see that construction

Used in another way.

Do you see how this is very

Heavy up here?

That's the reason I bought

The red and the blackish.

I kind of--

But it's not just the color.

You know, it's a lot of fabric

To have it right on her chest.

And the fabric, which sort of

Looks like a camo, is

Camouflaging your work.

Inspiration and your look.

Well, I was sitting there in

The campsite at night looking up

At the stars.

And I realized I was looking

Through the silhouette of trees.

I hand-painted a silhouette of

Branches all along her that

Would symbolize trees,

Basically.

So it's essentially trees at

Midnight.

I have to say, the fit on

This dress is ridiculous.

Is that a good thing?

It is so good.

In a good way.

Okay.

I wasn't 100% sure of the

Leather piece that is attached

On the back.

It's not that I hate it.

Mm-hmm.

I just--i could go either way

With it.

I actually really like the

Leather on the bottom.

I think it's really cool.

It grounds it.

It makes--it's kind of earthy to

Me.

I love the collar and the

Sleeves.

Yeah, the little details on

The sleeve and around the neck?

Oh, I love that.

They're perfect.

I'm crazy about this dress.

I think the dress fits very

Well.

I think it moved very well.

That being said, I sort of

Disagree with the two ladies.

I'm not that wowed by the

The river that we were next

To, I was very fascinated with

How the water was interacting

With the rock, and I wanted to

Translate that into this

Garment.

What is the lace made out of?

The white stuff?

It's actually, um, glue g*n.

In the past, I've been safe too

Many times.

So this time, I realized I just

Wanted to push myself and just

Create that illusion of the

Water.

I admire experimentation and

Creativity, but it looks like

She's frothing from the hip.

And this frothiness looks--

And right there...

It almost looks like she has a

Foaming vag*na.

[Gasps]

It's just the location.

It looks like it's foaming.

Omg.

I just wished you would've

Not used the glue g*n.

Looking at her hair and

Makeup, I know--i get a better

Feel of what you were going for.

I just think the execution of

This inspiration was a little

Bit off the mark.

Inspiration and your look.

Well, I was inspired by the

Concept of glamping, taking

Camping and making it cool,

Modernizing basics.

So with this jacket, I took

Denim and made it a modern denim

Jacket.

The pant-skirt concept was--

I-i like this silhouette, and

I think it's modern.

It's fun.

It's fresh.

You took a huge risk.

Yeah.

I think it worked.

I liked that you did separates.

I love the way ya looks today.

You haven't looked like this

Before.

I love what you did with her

Hair.

It's so perfect and--chyoo!

I even like the white eyeliner.

I can see that on the runway.

I love the fact that you

Chose denim as a fabric for a

High-fashion choice.

The pants I thought looked a

Little bit like long johns, so

I even saw the connection there.

The back looks fantastic.

Modern, cool, draped, in a

Material that's not very

Luxurious, is denim, but you

Made it into a very luxurious

Jacket.

I loved it.

I couldn't tell, from where I

Was sitting, that it was denim,

And I think that's a testament

To your work with the material.
