When I got home, I really

Just, like, vegged out, watching

Movies, and one of my favorite

Movies is blade runner, so I

Really just started playing

Around with retrofuturism.

There's a lot of angular lines

Meeting curved lines.

Uh-huh.

So, you've designed the prints

And you've put them into

Production?

Yes.

How fantastic.

Where are they?

I just got the proofs.

I'm really excited.

Oh, you have the proofs.

Yeah.

I wanted to get it proofed

Before I ordered large

Quantities.

No, sure, absolutely.

This is one of them.

So, have you approved the

I'm still hung up about one
of them.

I had it printed on the cotton

Silk, and it's not as vibrant as

I wanted it to be.

I had this printed on it.

You see the difference?

I'm thinking, why aren't you

Doing it all on knit?

The integrity of the artwork

Isn't at all compromised by this

Knit, and it's gonna make your

Whole design life a lot easier.

Well, my inspiration comes

From growing up in northern new

York state, where we had long,

Hard winters.

I would always get so excited

When the crocuses would push up

Through the snow.

Uh-huh.

I mean, literally, a flower

In a field of snow.

I know exactly what that is.

What I tried to do is get

That feeling of bright

Springtime, alive vibrancy from

The glassy, snowy, sort of cool,

Metallic kinds of colors.

I have four garments that I

Haven't started making yet.

One of them is my finale look,

Which is an entire gown.

And this is the fabric.

Can we postpone new york fashion

Week just a couple days and give

Me some more time?

I titled the collection "neo

Nomadic punk."

And i--well, I'm just sort of

Playing, mixing and matching

Prints and so forth...

So that I can, with a cute,

Like, sort of a gypsy skirt.

This collection is you.

These are phone books that

Have been woven.

But that was only more

Motivation to really, like, k*ll

It with this collection.

Is this just you?

This is just me.

How great!

So, where do you want to start?

My inspiration was

Clairvoyance, knowing the

Unknown.

It's very abstract, though.

Yes.

How does it become concrete?

Well, what I decided to do

Was take the concept of vision,

And what I did was, I had a

Photograph taken of an eye.

And I ended up using that in

My prints for sure.

So, you had the textile
manufactured.

Mm-hmm.

Wow, so that's what's

Hanging over here.

I'm really confident with

This whole concept of

Clairvoyance.

I'm 100% sure it will wow the

Judges.

I'm a bit disarmed by the

Red.

I don't think of you as a red

Person.

I want it to be like this

Bold, in-your-face, really

Aggressive color, with these

Aggressive silhouettes, and then

Have almost a softness to it

With manipulating the print.

It's good counterpoint.

Yeah.

Yeah.

Here's the blunt instrument

I'm gonna deliver.

Okay.

You need to do something that

Speaks to some innovation.

I don't think that that dress,

Walking down the runway, is

Going to be acceptable.

You're competing with justin

And with alexandria.

Yes.

So, you have to do superb,

Not a concern of mine.

I know that I'm capable of

I need to make tweaks, but he

Gave me the confidence to

Trust myself.

And I think she looks

Really cool.

The second look is a very cool

Suede jacket.

I'm very proud of this one.

I think, in the entire

Collection, I think this is the

One I love the most.

The third look is a trench coat

That is made of silk and suede

And a pair of pants that have

This sort of asymmetrical drape.

I love the hat with the

Braids.

I like the look, but the

Proportions are not as solid as

They could be.

It's just, the right girl needs

To wear it.

I absolutely love the

Capped-sleeve minidress.

The construction is so perfect.

The clean finishings and the

Shape of the bodice with the

Sweet capped sleeve, it's so

Modern but badass at the same

Time.

I just--i really love it.

I would totally wear this look.

For my second look, I chose my

Red cape dress with the acrylic

Belt.

The color speaks for itself, and

I want to show them a variety of

The color and textiles that I

Used in this collection.

I love this off-shoulder printed

Dress.

I mean, I k*lled myself with

Trying to make this print

Perfect, and it's practically

Glowing on my model.

Although it is the only printed

Piece, it's sexy and it's fitted

Underneath the little cape, so

I'm hoping the judges love it.

It looks stunning.

Fashion-forward, and now that I

Yeah.

All the pants have a detail like

I love it!

The middle jacket here is in

Leather, and it's raw.

All the seams are curvy.

The third jacket is a mix of

Suede and silk.

All the closures have old fish

Hooks, but I think that this

Best represents what I have to

Show.

I mean, there is so much detail.

My inspiration was actually

Clairvoyance.

It's kind of, like, a really

Abstract inspiration.

I didn't want to make it too

In-your-face.

I decided to make my own print

With photos actually of my

Boyfriend's eye and use a pop

Color as well as something that

Was more subdued.

I just wanted to keep it not

Only sexy but somewhat

Sophisticated.

I'm really pleased with how it

Turned out.

I love this very minimal yet

Feminine silhouette that your

Clothes have.

I love the little black dress.

It feels very modern.

Can I see the back of the black

Dress?

It's great.

I am a little worried that this

Print dress feels very tortured.

Can she move her arms in it?

[Laughs] what is that?

She just looks like she's

Sitting there in a

Straightjacket.

I think I understand the kind

Of work that you make.

You get modern women.

That being said, you got pretty

Close on the first one, and then

It went less in degree.

The last dress really feels like

A concept that didn't come to

Fruition.

In my eyes, you've been one

Of the more interesting

Designers on the show.

But I'm so not happy with what

These three girls look so

Unhappy.

It doesn't feel easy or sexy.

They're just kind of stuck.
