and why reinvent the wheel
when you don't have to?

- My inspiration
comes from Madonna.

There's a lot
of bondage-inspired straps,

and I want the look
to be provocative,

and to make that look beautiful
and stunning and dramatic

is not easy,
but I know I can handle this.

- I'm creating a corset,
a garter belt,

and a matching panty.

I'm gonna do this garter belt
strap thing

where you don't actually
have to strap it to anything.

- So if I do this, and then
maybe that edge, like that.

- I feel like
this challenge

opened my eyes
to possibilities.

I can go home
and do any line I want.

I love this challenge.

It's making me think
outside the box.

I'm actually creating the bra

instead of using the bra
we have.

for the intimate wear,
you always have to compromise.

You're gonna get a cute bra
with some lace,

but it might not give you
much, like,

support that you need.

and maybe this is something

that could really fit

I felt like it was sexier.

- To me, the right side
looks more interesting

than the left side.

- I work a lot with straps,

and that is my strong
design detail.

Although I love what I've made,

I think I'm going
to be in the bottom.

These pieces have to be mass
produced, and what I have made,

you can't really
do mass production with it.

That's really making me scared.

- I'm just so happy that
I was able to create something

with me putting
different shapes

and using different textures
of fabrics.

Everything looks put together,

and it doesn't look
like I rushed it.

for finishing the bra.

The bra is hand-stitched.

It's something
that could be sold in a store

and is ready to go.

- You did the bra perfect.

being that she saw the first
piece that I was creating,

and to turn it around in
the amount of time that I had.

my signature style

And this, for me,
is my signature style.

A lot of weaving, a lot of sex
appeal, but not in your face.

And the cover-up
also takes inspiration

from a Greek goddess, which is
why it's like a Grecian drape.

- Well, this was a showstopper.

You created a fierce bra.

- I love the bra,
but I'm a little distracted

because the middle
has nothing.

I love the fuchsia,

and I just wanted
to coordinate it

with a neutral color,
so I added the navy.

I thought satin brought in
the sexy-bedroom look,

and I loved the lace,

so I wanted to also
coordinate that with the satin

and just give little,
small details.

- The bra I like.

I also love the knot.

You don't see that a lot
in a lot of bras,

and I thought that was very
unusual and very different.

The panties, not so much.

They're very high-waisted.

They're very big.

- You think
they're very big?

- It reminds me of the '80s.

This looks very dated to me.

The pant is so high up
and so big,

it almost looks like
a granny pant in the front,

and then she's wearing
the Brazilian thong in the back.

It's the contradiction.

- You know, I think
you had a nice color story.

I think the knot
was a nice detail.

To me, there's just a little bit
too much going on

as an ensemble.

- Okay.

- I like the double strap,

but I think it's placed wrong.

Every woman probably
wouldn't feel comfortable

with it being in the waist.

It'll pinch your fat.

Any angle you turn,
it's just not gonna look good.

But I really do like the top.

I think the top would probably

be very comfortable to wear,
and it's support.

You could wear it
under a t-shirt

and it would look good.

- I was in love
with a V-neck top,

and so that's
where that came from.

I just hand-sewed
all this new bra

and then the back is like this.

In my brain, I was just thinking
more, like, sexy and cute,

and something effortless.

- When you design lingerie,

you design lingerie
either for a girl

that wears her lingerie during
the day so it's practical,

or you wear lingerie
more for provocative reasons,

for the bedroom.

And so this is more along
the lines for the bedroom.

It is more suitable
for a smaller chest,

but I think you've done
a beautiful job.

You used a lot of the lace,

and it's very interesting
and unusual of a shape,

which is something that
I was looking for, you know.

I wasn't looking for a basic.

- I can see that a woman
designed this,

and it's sexy,
but empowered and fun.

Just what I think lingerie
should be.

- You could even wear it
under a T-sh*t,

like, a white tank top,
and it can poke through,

and it's still really cute.

So I'd still wear it out.

- I particularly like the bra

because it's one of those items
that can be a layering item.

Yes, it's lingerie,
but it also can be fashion,

and I'd love to see that
with a sheer blouse.

I thought it was very
fashion-forward,

and I thought it was very cool.

- I wanted to create
something that,

I think, had an element
of nostalgia,

which is what I tried to invoke
with the polka dot pattern,

but I also wanted to involve
some updates and some sentiments

feels throw-away, literally.

I really feel like the straps
are creating a...

are strategically in an area

that is very complicated

- This is sporty meets French,
I would think.

- Sporty meets what?
- Like, French.

Like, that French kind of vibe.
Like, with the lace.

Yeah, so I spent a lot
of time on the panties.

I hand-sewed the lace
around the waistline coming up,

and then it just took
longer than I expected.

I mean, this is my first time
working or even seeing,

like, women's intimates.

- Good luck, then.

- Oh...

- For real, I mean,

that you're limiting
your audience to nothing.

If you want to be a designer,
the reality is,

is that you're designing
for diversity

of different types of women.

- Yeah.
- And it shows here.

- There's lace right here,

I think that was a good idea.

I think your biggest problem
was using that underwire

and then just putting the mesh,

because the underwire
will hike up the boob,

like it's supposed to,
and then leaving only mesh

to give it no support
will purposely make

the boob look droopy.

- Worse.

It just will, no matter what.

- The color was great.

However, there is no fit,

there is no quality,

and there is no sophistication,

and I think those
are integral,

especially when you're looking
to buy lingerie.

- I really wanted to emphasize
on the bra line

and where the straps hit
and everything,

and I love the whole
lace cutout

on the cups and everything

and kind of dropping it
a little bit lower

to kind of give
something different,

and then I wanted to bring it
down to the underwear

with the same lace and then
with the straps in the back

to emphasize her curves.

- I love the combination
of colors.

There's something very sporty
about this, yet feminine.

- Mm-hmm.

- It fits, it's sophisticated,
yet very fashion-forward.

but it's still classy,

and, like, it's sexy,
but it's still young.

I love the lace under here.
