to the final six designers.

I'm so thrilled
to see all of you again
and I'm eager to hear
what you've been doing.
- Yeah.

Ashley, congratulations again
on winning.
- Whoo hoo!
- Thank you.
- How do you feel?
- It feels so amazing
to be the winner of season 14.
This is something that
I've been wanting to do
and I can't believe that
I took the chance to audition
and it's tooken me this far, and
this is like a dream come true.
- Well, your time here
has been quite a ride.
- Yes.
- You've been on the top a lot,
but you've also been
on the bottom at times.
- Yes.
- What have you learned?
- It's been a roller coaster,
but I think
it has definitely
made me a stronger person
than I was
before coming in here.
- And a stronger person
in what way?
- I feel like I definitely
built a thicker skin
and I learned a lot about myself
as a person and as a designer.
- You have been a consistent
fan favorite this season.
And how does that make you feel?
- It feels so amazing
to have so much love and support
from everyone.
I definitely felt like
I told my story
and I want other people to know
that plus-size women matter.
- And do you believe that
creating a plus-size collection
was a factor in your win?
- I'm not sure, but I just
wanted to make a difference,
and I can't believe that
I am the person
who's doing that right now.
- It's something
to be very proud of.
- I definitely am proud of it.
- Do the rest of you think
that the fact
that Ashley created
a plus-size collection
factored into her win?
- Yeah, I think that she's
definitely made a statement
and to do something
that no one else has done,
you know what I mean?
Or, for lack of a better word,
has the ba*ls to do it.
- I think the line
was good enough to win
without being put on a plus-size
model or a regular-size model.
- Mm.
- Thank you.
- And I think that's
the sign of a good designer.

- When you came to
"Project Runway" and started,
there were some pretty rocky
moments in the beginning,
correct? Yeah.
- Definitely.
There was one judge
in particular
who gave you a pretty hard time.
- Nina?
- It was indeed Nina Garcia.
- Mm.
I appreciate the rough critiques
because, I mean,
that's the only way
I'm going to get better.
- I agree with you.
- If people are going to blow
smoke up my a*s all the time,
I'm gonna--I don't know.
- Blow the smoke
back up their own asses.

You were so close to winning.
- Mm-hmm.
- How does that feel?
- I mean, I'm happy
I just got to show
at New York Fashion Week,
and I have zero regrets.
I love everything I did.
There's nothing I would change
with my collection or anything,
and I'm excited to see
where it's gonna take me, so.
- Well, I want us all
to take a look at the evolution
of the Kelly Dempsey-Nina Garcia
relationship.

I just didn't know where I stand
being like, pretty much
self-taught,
and I'm like, so grateful
to even be here.
It's a lot different than
working at the deli at home,
I can tell you that much.

- I did.
- And I don't believe
a designer in the history
of "Project Runway"
has ever had
such a profound impact
on Nina and changing her mind.

- Well, Edmond, you waited a
long time to finally get here.
- I did.
- And you made it onto the show
and you showed at
New York Fashion Week.
How does that feel?
- Awesome, Tim.
It's like a dream, you know?
Still living it and um,
I'm excited just to say
you know?
- But I have to add,
you were also a man of mystery.
- Mm-hmm.
- Mysterious, secretive.
I didn't know that you
kept your looks a secret
from the other designers.
And up until
the last minute, too.
Did you all realize that
that was happening?
all: Yes.
- Not until
the Hallmark challenge.
- Hallmark challenge,
I'm next to Edmond
and I drop something
on the ground and it's like,
the beginning and I pick it up
and I see this, like,
flower bouquet out of frickin'
cards and I'm like,
"What is he doing over there?"
- Stuffed under the table.
- And Edmond's like,
"Oh, you didn't see that."
He hides it real quick. I was
like, "I see what you're doing."
- I want us to all take a look
at Edmond, man of mystery.
- You have an idea yet?
- Uh, kinda sorta.
I like to fly under the radar.
- Yours looks interesting.
- Although my vision is very
clear of what I want to do,
um, if anyone asks,
I don't know.
I'll know in a sec.
'Cause I didn't want to
"inspire" anyone else.

- I'm not quite sure
what Edmond's doing.
- Give us details, please.
- Should I say now--no one else
is gonna hearing this, right,
or anything.
- He's got his head so
screwed on tight in the game.
- Look at how cute that is.
When did you do that?
- Edmond likes
to surprise people.
He pulls out this veil, and--
- When does he do all this?
He's like always pulling
tricks out of his bag.
You just don't know until
the very end, and poof.
Magician.
It's always the quiet ones
that pack the biggest punch.

- So, Edmond, what do you
have to say about that?
- Mm-hmm.
- Well, looking at it, I mean,
the proof is there. Um...
- Really, proof is there.
- I personally--I guess
like the element of surprise.
I've always been like that.
I guess I just--
- You just like to
surprise other people.
- That's just something I do.
I don't know.
- Now, Candice,
what was the whole
"Project Runway" experience
like for you?
- I definitely think I grew,
and I could say as a designer,
as a woman, because
when I got here,
I just had this relentless,
like, drive,
and I just didn't let anything
else interfere with it.
- I like how
half the room leaves
when Candice starts talking.
- Everyone's like, okay.
c*ck hour.
- And everyone's like,
c*ck party, everyone.
- Bathroom break.
- Okay, here we go.
- She just talks too much.
Everyone's already heard
what Candice has to say.
- Or we just know
it's total bull[bleep].
- But there were a few people
who did influence me,
and I think it let me
open up a bit

- and softened me.
You know, surprisingly enough,
as much as everyone says that
all that Ashley did was cry,
like, it a bit
helped me understand
that women have insecurities
and it's a very beautiful thing.

- How was this experience
for you?
- It has been the b*mb, and
hard, but overall I had a blast.
I grew as a designer.
I, like, figure out what kind
of designer I want to be
when I left "Project Runway" so
that was cool, and I always say,
like, if I can do
"Project Runway,"
I can go to the moon
and come back.
You know what I mean?
So this has been awesome.
- Well, you were definitely one
of the more memorable designers
ever to be on "Project Runway."

So Swapnil.
On the topic of you and me
and our ups and downs,
I want you to know that you
are a charming and affable guy,
and you are
a very talented designer.
both: Yes.
- And, the fact that I believe
you were not working up
to your full potential
was the source of
my frustrations with you.
And how do you react to that?
What are your thoughts
about that?
- You know, from season one
and seeing the show
and of course seeing you, for me
you have been like, up there.
Like, I've always put you
on a pedestal and I always will,
so your validation
meant everything to me,
even more than the judges'.
And then when
that whole thing happened,
it just broke my whole world.
- But here's what
I want you to know.
And what I need to assure you,
I have never ever ever ever
questioned your talent.
You are extremely talented.
- Yeah.
- What I didn't like
was your work ethic.
And what I did not know
was that you came
into this competition
with a strategy.
A very specific strategy.
And I want all of us
to take a look.
- Really?
- I'm worried about Swapnil.
I can kind of see
his energy changing.
But he is so talented and just
really needs to focus.
- You know what my strategy is?
I always prepare myself
and produce pieces
that will keep me safe.
I think I've been
giving around 60%.
Maybe 60 to 80%.
I've not been aiming
for the win.
I've been aiming to be safe.
- You're ridiculous.
- Oh, I'm very ridiculous.
I don't want to win, win, win,
lose, lose, lose, out.
I'd rather be safe, safe, safe,
top, top, top,
win, win, win, win finale.
- Ah.
- Yeah. It would just--it
doesn't make sense in my head.
- If that's what you're saying
you're going to do,
then the judges
are gonna feel that.
You're in a competition.
Compete.
- You have so much creativity.
You're working at 40% capacity.
Work at 150%.
- I'm really glad
that Tim told Swapnil
that he's only working at,
like, 40%.
I think he needed to hear it
and that people notice it.
- I think over-confidence
is what led me astray,
but I don't think
I'm gonna go home.
- I feel like Swapnil
wants to be here,
but not as much
as everyone else.
- And is it in any condition
for Jen to even try on?
- Not really.
- You're the last critique
of the session,
so you've had more time to work
than any other designer,
and you're the only designer
who's had nothing
to put on their model.
How does that make you feel?
- Precisely why I wanted
to wait because--
- Oh, what a bunch
of bull[bleep].
Bull [bleep].
I'm tired of hearing it.
I'm really just fed up.
I mean, I just want to ask,
"What is the [bleep]ing point?"
- When it comes to Swapnil,
every single one of us
from the beginning
knew how talented he was.
- Oh, absolutely.
- And when you said you didn't
know why you were here,
it was like, I wanted
to wring his neck.
I wanted to wring your neck.
- So did I.
- Because I know you know
why you're here.
- Yeah.
- And you're really good
at what you do
and I know that you know it.
- So the thing is,
back home everyone's been
questioning why I'm here
and what are you making
if you don't understand it?
This is not fashion,
so I've always been
questioning it myself, and then
when you said it as well,
it really made me question
everything on the whole
as to maybe I'm not
even meant to be a designer.
- You can question
a lot of things,
but don't ever question that
you shouldn't be a designer,
'cause that is not
even a question.
- That is insane. That is
absolutely, positively insane.
- I want you to take
a lesson from Kelly's book.
- Yep.
- And be positive.
And move forward
no matter what.
- Yep.
- You need to have a tenacity
that doesn't stop you.
- Yep.
- And I will underscore my
frustrations with this refrain
that I used to use
with my students.
I'm going to use it with you.
I can't want you to succeed
more than you do.
And if you've learned something
from this experience
that moves you forward
and that has made you feel
stronger as a designer,
then I could not be happier.

it's a fresh, interesting
awkward experience.

- After watching all
the episodes and, you know,
through the magic of TV
obviously through editing
and everything else may not
be the way that we
perfectly lived it.
I mean, us, too, we were
made out to look like
I was trying to control her
like crazy,
and I mean, we worked well
together, don't you agree?
- This is the reunion?

- I mean, clearly they put us
together for a reason, girl.
- When we button-bag these
teams, there is no manipulation.
It's really the luck
of the draw.
So you maintain that
in the edit of the show
it looks as though you
and Merline had conflicts.
- The way that the editing
process took place,
it looked like I was all design
and I was just making her to do
what I wanted her to do.
Of course, now I'm
overtalking her, but...
[laughter]
- Well, I want to

that they were not portrayed
in an accurate way on the show?
- I don't think
anything was edited
to make it seem like
it wasn't true.
If anything, there were
more things in the episode
that were not shown
that could give proof
to the truth
that was actually shown
on television.
- Even in the respect of editing
where I haven't always
been highlighted
as the frickin' hero
of the show,
how far can the editing process
really go?
Like, when you're speaking
to someone's name
and you follow with a comment
and then you follow
with an action
and you give your opinion,
how far can the editing
really take it?
- My perception of the editing,
the editing of the show
is kind to everyone.
- It is.

And I include myself in that.
- It's as unbiased as it can be.

the more controversial designers
on this season of the show
and specifically about words
that you had to say
about Swapnil.
The blogs and social media
went crazy,
including accusing you
of being a r*cist.

when the boys could have
picked Ashley as well
and they didn't

Because us boys had discussed if
we ever had a group challenge,
that it was going to be
boys versus girls.
We'd all--I mean,
we lived together,
we all talked about it,
we all said
if we ever had the opportunity
we should do it.
- I wasn't aware
of the strategy.

Well, let's go back to
the paintball team challenge.
Laurie, you mentioned
that you heard
the other members of the team--
the other girls--
say that they would
throw Ashley under the bus,
but that was not
caught on camera.
So when was that said?
- It wasn't actually--I didn't--
I said that I feel that
the other girls--
I feel that the other girls
are going to
throw you under the bus.
And this went on through them
"bitching" about Ashley.
Um, supposedly their
frustrations with Ashley,
and I'm like, "Why is
everybody mad at Ashley?
Why is everybody blaming--"
- Because they're not
Laurie's friend.
- I'm talking.
I'm talking.
Why is everybody blaming Ashley,
so I got the idea
that they're going to
throw Ashley under the bus, and
lo and behold, on the runway,
they threw Ashley under the bus.
- I was the one
that was asked first,
"Who would you
choose to go home?"
I didn't base it on the garment.
I chose Ashley because at the
beginning of the challenge
when we're all trying
to work together as a team,
we're all sitting there
working together.
Did you observe Ashley was
the first person that walked off
when we were all talking
and trying to work together
and started dyeing the fabric
by herself.
- Because everybody's
talking at the same time.
- But then she's going
off on her own
and we need to work together.
- Everybody wanted to do
their own thing.
Nobody wanted to work as a team
which was my frustration and
Ashley's frustration as well.
- I give an opinion completely
based on that particular style.
None of us wanted to be
mean to Ashley
or have a bitchfest as it was
called by Kelly Osbourne.
- I think that we were all
frustrated
with the fact that
Ashley was extremely emotional
and that was the tor--
that was the turning point.
- Yeah, I understand that
and I don't even know
why that's even being
pointed out.
Like, everybody
was so overwhelmed.
- Yeah yeah yeah,
and it's like--
- And I was the one
that ended up crying
because I was overwhelmed so
it's like, "Oh, okay, yeah."
- I did too.
- I agree.
- Lindsey.
- We were asked to pick someone,
we had to pick someone,
and for me,
it was based on looks,
and for everybody else it was
based on looks without question.
- We were in the workroom
and I confirmed
with everybody in the group
before I started pleating
this stuff to say,
like, "Okay, is this going
to go cohesive?"
And everybody was like,
"Yeah, yeah, I like it."
And then to be in the bottom
and then the judges asked them,
"What's your least favorite
look" or whatever,
to be chosen, like,
it just felt like everybody
was being fake.
- So, hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
In all of this discussion
we've had,

when I created
the second bathing suit look,
it was only because the second
time being told to shut up,
I was like, "Okay, I'm just
going to just back off
and let her do her thing."
I wasn't aware of
how far along she had come
and even if we would have a look
to present on the runway.
- I'm deducing from
what you're saying,
the communication issue
was no communication.
- I think there was
somewhat of a dial tone
but no one was picking up
saying hello, maybe on the end.
- Well, that sounds
like no communication.
Hanmiao, what was the issue
from your point of view?
- Both of us have
a very strong personality.
I am person--I need the time
to think about
to make a decision
and keep going.
I'm very straightforward
and sorry, Edmond,
I make you, you know, feel upset
and I say twice "shut up."
But doesn't mean
I'm rude or something.
I think it's a very
no filter way to react.

you home on this challenge.
Do you think you
should have gone home?
- I think I deserve it,
because we are the only group
didn't work as a team,
so I think it's fair.
- There was no shortage
of tears this season,
and it seems that everyone
had his or her breaking point.

- It's not my day.

- This one opportunity that
I have to do plus size
and I wanted to do that

felt the pressure.

and so if we didn't really care
I would think we would
cry that much.
- I would just like to say
'cause obviously I did cry a lot
this season, it was out of
frustration and passion.
My job was to make
amazing fashion
that was going to
wow the judges,
and because
they didn't feel that way
is why I personally cried
as much as I did.

- We're trying to get drunk.
- Yeah. Life is all about drunk.

and the two of you
need to get a room.

- I mean, I love
the Mary Kay makeup challenge.

how it felt
to be the first designer
eliminated,
especially because so many
of the designers and I
really loved your look.
- I mean, it wasn't great.
- But it was good.
- I mean, leaving.

- I haven't really dwelt on it.
I stood by it.
They didn't like it.
I learned something.
I met a great group of friends.
I'm going to see these guys
and talk to them
for the next how many years.

I now live here,
