I just want you to start thinking

about some things
that went on in your past.

Maybe, you know, things in your past
that affected you or whatever.

And see how they might be
illustrated in the way

that you relate with us, all right?

[Julie] Well, I mean... it sucks in general

that this whole meeting
is happening, ultimately,

because I think it's just weirdness,

and it seems strange that this is needed.

I just feel that, when I'm around you,
I'm getting a... a very abrasive vibe.

[Melissa] He doesn't know
how to treat people,

he doesn't know how to respect people.

that we don't just hate you
for any reason.

[Julie] What would make you feel
more comfortable

with making eye contact

To me, that is survival mode.

I've been in survival mode

is dealing with more than she can bear,

she's not in the best of health.

I always got to make connection.

on your side and on your team.

You're not always a lone soldier

and that will help you through all this.

on the other side

is you're trying to take David

from point A to point Z
in one conversation.

There's no way in hell
a kid with that much ego

is going to start bawling,
say he's sorry and he's wrong.

Having internal problems with your mother

treating people around you like crap.

I decided to write Matt
a letter because he doesn't like

to communicate
the way I like to communicate,

and I think that through a letter,
that'll be more effective.

I take to heart what you've written,

'cause I know it took a lot of guts
to write this all down.

But at the same time, some of this stuff

really catches me off guard
and wondering where it's grounded.

to you, it is more important

Could you explain more behind that?

It's, like, I feel
that I'm reprimanded by you...

She has been harboring these feelings.

That bothers me
because I've been living my life

and have continued to hurt her.

[Matt] If you're hanging over the edge
of the sailboat and it's wet,

my masculine instincts kick in
and I feel like I have to protect you,

'cause I don't want to see you
falling in that water

because I like you more than Jamie,

and I like you in a different way
than I do Kelley or Melissa.

I can't describe it.

Like, at one time,
I thought I could, and I can't explain it,

and you'll just have to respect
that I can't. So, like...

[Julie] That still leaves it
unexplained, Matthew. [chuckles softly]

I'm not afraid
of a more intimate relationship with him,

whether it be
just through friendship or whatever.

He is mildly attracted to me,

but he also knows
that he doesn't want to go there

because it's not a 100%.
It makes him uncomfortable.

And the only way you're gonna get those
is if, like, you leverage

and, like, you network with other people,
because you can't get there by yourself.

I realize that I have not been
in this house a whole, whole bunch,

and I want to spend
the rest of my time here

having a really good time

and making sure that the relationships
that were formed aren't in vain.

-[Julie squeaking, chuckling]

-[Julie squeaking, chuckling]

-[David] Uh-oh.

[overlapping chatter]

[indistinct cheering, chatter]

-[Jamie] Yeah.
-[smooches]

[Jamie] All of a sudden
she's all about smooching.

[chuckles]

[Jamie] I had to jump on her.

[Kelley] He's got one hand up,
he's like...

[Jamie] And Matt's like,
"Hey, hold on there."

She was expecting a kiss, man. [scoffs]

She's not playing by the rules.
You got to let the bottle spin.

-[Matt] Julie, oh my God.
-[Julie chuckling]

[Jamie] Julie, get him.

[Julie] You owe me. Come on, Matt.

I'm just playing by the rules, man.

Matt is scared stiff, no pun intended.

[Jamie chuckling]

[Danny] That's pretty sad.
He's crawling from you, Julie.

-[Julie] Come on.
-[Matt] Stop, stop, stop.

-[Julie chuckling]

He should enjoy it, damn it. I'm hot.
Why doesn't he want me? [grunts]

-[Julie] Come on. [smooching]

'cause I think he kind of likes it.

In fact, I know

[Julie] I don't want to like him,

I liked the feeling that
you get when you like somebody,

but at the same time, I hate it, because...

And if I'm perfectly honest,
I'm still nuts about that kid.

because I am an amazing person, honestly,
and I could give him anything he wanted.

Peter's going to Indonesia

to go surfing for two weeks,
and I'm really sad,

but I'm really happy for him,
because he's gonna have a great time,

and he's going to do what he loves.

-[slow music playing]
-I can do two weeks. That's easy.

[birds chirping]

[dishes clattering]

Peter's gone for two weeks
and Kelley's thrown back into this world

that she has been out of
for about three months.

I don't think
I really realized how hard it is

to be in that house all the time
until Peter was gone and I was there.

We... we don't all click that well together.

-We've never really hung out.
-[cups clanking]

I mean, we've shopped together,
what, twice?

You know, you're not here.

And so, I don't see
how we could be holding hands

running through daisies, totally excited...

about each other when we don't spend
any real time together.

[Melissa] She's with Peter
every single day, and that has tainted

the potential of us having a relationship.

What, you're asking for, like, this big,
gigantic relationship friendship,

-that's not gonna work because...
-[Kelley] I'm not asking for a big,

I'm asking for there to be
a common denominator

-for the fact that we...
-There is. We're cordial,

we're civil with each other.

Acknowledge that when you talk to people,
there is a very abrasive vibe.

You can't even take criticism.
You dish it out, but you can't take it.

[Kelley] People in this house think

that it's hard to approach me
and that I'm irritable sometimes,

and I think that's probably true.

[Kelley] Inside are
these really fragile feelings,

but I don't want to be another girl
who walks around crying,

and who can't deal with things, you know?

I want to be that woman who's powerful.
I want to stand on my own two feet.

I want to be able to walk into a room
and not be intimidated, you know?

And the power that I...
that I have is this ability

to use my strength to keep people
from being able to knock me down...

[Melissa] Kelley and I are both
very strong-willed women.

I think that we're both
very stubborn women.

I think that we both have a hard time
accepting criticism.

[Kelley] And I don't think
what our problem is, is so big

-that we can't make it better.

Most of what our problem is
is semantics.

We are both very bullheaded.

that we say to each other, we both are.

That's why there's such a problem.

If we could express
observations about each other

without defenses,
we would be absolutely fine.

We don't have to leave being best friends,
and whether we fought every single day,

and then, on the last day,
we hugged each other and said,

"Hey, listen, bygones..."

then I would feel good
about my experience.

I think that we both deserve,
to each other,

to at least try
and make some kind of an effort.

Just move up from cordial
to acquaintance or something, like...

Because I think that it's worth it.

[upbeat music playing]

it's just kind of like a nice finale

to our Real 7 experience.

Now that things are winding down,

we've all decided
to put all of our differences on the shelf

and try to have a good time
with each other.

Melissa has really put an honest effort
into helping me with my show.

-[Melissa] We can go to their gallery.
-[Kelley] Perfect. Thank you, Melissa.

is for young artists.

Melissa realizes the responsibility
that she has to her job,

and she's willing to do it,
and I have a lot of respect for that.

I think it's incredible.

You can combat the embarrassment

that goes into putting together
a crappy show by doing more work.

to go to his studio to watch him flow.

[David] This is
a real professional studio.

It's not just some fly-by-night
bathroom-type recording studio.

I dragged Julie with me, purposely.

You know what I'm saying?
This is how

we can connect, this is how we can do it.

We had him closed off
because he was closing himself off.

And now the floodgates are open

and we're able to get to know each other.

It's sad that it's happening
right before we leave,

but I'm grateful
that it's happened at all.

and to share and to actually enjoy it...

Today we're gonna start off
with some awesome stuff,

Young Aspirations of Young Artists.
It's a program called YAYA.

[Matt] This is our final Real 7 show,
and I'm kind of excited.

It's like the last final
at the end of a semester.

You want to get it done
but at the same time,

you've had a good time learning.

Today it's all about creative energy.

[Matt] On our very first show,
we were panicky,

we were spastic, and at the end,
our shows got pretty darn good,

and we're all proud of them.

[Kelley] I am thoroughly impressed
with the progress that we've made at work.

The difference
between the first show and the last show

is like night and day. It's incredible.

I'd like to say to all of you,

it's been an absolute pleasure
working with you guys

over the past couple of months.

I am very, very, very proud of you guys.

I mean, we had a lot of expectation,
you know, coming into this, and you guys...

we raised the bar

and you met the level
and you exceeded that.

[Julie] Elton's a good boss.

I'm just really happy
with the whole experience at NOA -TV.

It's a pleasure
working with you guys, really.
