for two weeks?

Johanna and I are still pretty much
not speaking.

We are walking right by each other.

No emotions, no facial expressions,
because we're still mad at each other.

I will talk to him when he approaches me.

-[Lacey] That's what he said about you.
-Yeah.

You'd think everyone would learn something
from the death of Danny's mother,

and that maybe
you shouldn't get so worked up

over petty things and not speak
to each other.

Well, it's not gonna happen,

and I guess we're not gonna talk
for the rest of our lives...

-[blows raspberry, chuckles]
-...which is fine by me.

[Melinda] TJ!

[chuckles]
How are you and your girlfriend doing?

Put it this way.

I was arguing with her for about
at least 45 minutes to an hour.

My best advice that I can give
is that you're gonna find somebody,

and it's just gonna come natural,
and then it's gonna all feel right.

Like, I think I found
the right thing right now.

-[TJ] And...
-And that's Danny.

But he's not here, and it sucks.

If Danny doesn't come back,

it's gonna be something
that's really hard for me

because the only thing that I wanna do
is spend time with Danny.

[Rachel] Getting to know that person,
but in a creative, interesting way.

I've chosen Melinda because I feel like
I know her the least out of the bunch.

Melinda feels the same way,
and she wanted to do me for the portrait.

[Melinda] When you hear the word heroes,
what comes to mind?

[Johanna] The first thing
that comes to mind is my great aunt.

My great aunt is the person
who raised me in Peru

who I've lived with since I was born.

[Wes] Would you sit in that closet

I don't want them to think
I'm g*y, though.

I'll do it, but I don't know
if he'll be like,

"You can't lead her to do things."

Like, "You just have to film her
in her element."

So, Nehemiah should be

I've been criticized for the fact
that I sleep all day.

I will wake up, on a good day,
at 7:00 or 8:00 at night.

Just in time to do the only thing
I really care about doing down here,

which is partying.

[Wes]
I want to ask you one important question,

in each of the different places
that you've slept.

Why is it that you have yet to sleep
in your bed?

Tell me about your career aspirations.

[Nehemiah] I do want to start
a production company.

I do want to do music videos.

-[Lacey] Okay.
-And I also remember

on the whole way over there
it was just fear of the unknown.

And I was riding over in the plane,

a really long plane ride,
and I had my 9-millimeter by my side,

and my gas mask by my side,
and, um, I was dreading landing.

And I remember the whole flight
over there I was so scared.

I want to interview Rachel,
because Rachel's so loud.

And I think that the roommates
get annoyed with her.

And I want to do something that shows

that she has more depth
than just voice level.

I'm so sick of talking about it.

And today we're showing
our assignments,

which is all the raw footage
of the portraits that we shot.

I mean, you know, PJ and Jenn told me

-that Danny's mother...
-[Rachel] His mom died.

-[Paul] He hasn't had a very good month.

[Wes] I think me and Nehemiah's

[Paul] I like the shot. I like it a lot.

Actually, I love the pink
and the combination of colors.

-[Nehemiah] Yeah.

So, how do you see this fitting
into the larger Wes piece?

[Nehemiah chuckles]
I'm showing, like, how I view him,

and how a lot of people
in the house view him.

[Rachel on TV] And...

And we got out, and the hot air hit us,
and everything was in Arabic.

And there were sandbags everywhere,
people with huge g*ns everywhere.

And we got issued our a*mo

Having moves like that
sometimes is really problematic.

And one way
to be able to protect yourself,

you do static shots on different things,
so, you can cut from an elbow to a foot.

What I'm gonna want to see next week

is you guys to start, you know,
start doing some editing and stuff,

and putting stuff together.

We have an awesome editing room
in our house downstairs,

this hidden room
we didn't even know about.

Who's had experience editing?
I think I know Nehemiah has.

I've made numerous iMovies.

The end goal is to, you know,

eventually have an editing team together
to edit the final production.

So, getting to know your footage,
I think, is the first step to editing.

[Rachel] I think I'm confused a little bit
about the editing.

But I almost like it more
than learning about camera or sound.

[David] Okay, so what's the assignment
between now and Monday?

-[Rachel] Play around with editing.

I always knew Danny
was gonna be coming back.

I mean, I never doubted it.
I had a feeling.

[Danny] I definitely missed everybody.
I missed Mel.

where I left off the first day,

and not feel like something
always bad is gonna happen

[Nehemiah] Yeah,
we have our edit training today.

but the thing about me
is that I cannot work on computers.

I have to tread extremely softly
with the advice that I give Danny

because anything that I say
might help Danny,

but it might be hurting Melinda.

I don't know. I don't know what to do
about this Melinda situation at all.

The one advice that I can honestly
give you is

you need to decide what you want ASAP.

All's I see is Melinda, Melinda, Melinda.

And I love it, don't get me wrong.
You know, I love the girl to death,

and I love being with her,
and everything's great,

but I don't know if I'm just picking that

because it's the only thing
I've known so far.

trying to push her away.

Maybe it's because I don't wanna get hurt,

but maybe it's because
I don't wanna hurt her as well.

At the same time, it's hard to stay away
from her, 'cause she's a great girl.

But the girl I'm gonna marry
could also be Melinda.

to try to make this work with Danny.

he's constantly fighting me.

How much did Mel drink tonight?

She's passed out.
She took plenty of shots.

When I see Mel like that,
and I see her passed out

and, you know, barely breathing,
basically, in her bed,

I'm really, really,
really worried about her.

She drank way too much.

Danny's scared that Melinda
is not just sick,

but is potentially
in a very unsafe position

based off the amount of alcohol
that she's drank.

[Melinda vomits, coughs]

[Melinda] I'm so tired.

[Johanna] Danny's acting very caring.
I think Danny's trying to prove the point

that he does somehow care about Melinda.

And he is showing it
by being there for her

while she's passed out.

When I was back home
for my mom's funeral,

I woke up that first day,

and you weren't there next to me,
and it was so weird.

And that's what made me come back.

[Melinda] I think the majority
of our argument is

Danny just isn't grieving properly.

I'm definitely the closest to him here
in the house.

And I think it's just easy for him
to kind of just take out

everything that he's going through on me.

She was on a hospital bed dying,
being so scared.

And I was passed out
on the bathroom floor, being drunk.

-You can't blame yourself, dear.
-No, she died.

[sobs] But it's not your fault, Danny.

[roommates chattering]

[Melinda] There's nothing
you could have done, baby.

[Danny] It's just
such an empty, hollow feeling

that you've searched for so many reasons,

and you've searched for so many answers,
and they're just not there.

It's definitely taken its toll on,
you know, my relationship with Mel.

Like, I don't want her to have to waste
her time on somebody

who's feeling down like that.
Like, I want her to, you know,

be able to have somebody that can
make her laugh all the time, you know.

And right now, I just don't feel like
I can give her that.

I will never forgive myself
for not being home.
