[Melinda] What are you thinking?

[Danny] I just don't want to hurt you.
'Cause in the past, I got so screwed over

by just girls in general that I totally
did not want a relationship whatsoever.

And that's not the way I feel anymore,
and it scared the hell out of me.

Going through a breakup with
my ex-girlfriend before I came out here,

you know, I carried it with me I think.

And I'm scared of getting hurt again,

even though, given my situation with Mel,
we do care about each other a lot.

[Melinda] I don't wanna feel like
I'm holding you back.

[Danny whispers] It's just hard to trust
a girl again in a relationship.

Even though you deserve it
more than any of them.

[Melinda] It's just weird.
Like, you think that...

I just never expected to have
these kind of feelings about somebody.

Danny and I were having
a really serious talk just about our past

and our relationships
and how we've been treated before.

It kind of just came up,

and Danny asked me
to be his girlfriend and...

[Lacey] Wes, we're leaving!

[Nehemiah]
We are meeting today with Paul Stekler

so we can go over more vivid details

of the South by Southwest documentary
that we are sh**ting.

[Johanna] It's the week
of the South by Southwest festival.

It is crowded.

Just bands from all over the country
come to try to get exposed,

try to get signed.

[music concludes]

-[Wes] Here's Paul over here, guys.

-[Danny] Let's go.
-[Rachel] Okay, okay.

[Paul] Let's talk about what's gonna go on
for the rest of the week.

So, what's the schedule at this point?

[Lacey] We know what days
they're coming in,

but we don't know exact times,
so right now we're asking them to call us

an hour before they think they're in town
so we can meet them at the point.

We have a very foggy plan of action
for handling the bands this week,

because the bands themselves
don't even know

when they're gonna be rolling into town.

[Wes] The three bands are Halifax,
Hellogoodbye, and Enon.

Okay, one thing
I want you to be prepared for,

and we'll figure this out,
is that as soon as this thing is all done,

sometime early next week,

we should be prepared to have something
that's a decent assembly-slash-rough-cut

because the trip depends on it.

[Rachel] If we don't meet the deadline
and have a rough cut of our footage,

we can't go on our vacation.

I don't care if I have to do all the work.
I'm not gonna not go on that vacation.

-So...
-[Jenn] That's two weeks.

-I know.
-[Jenn] Two weeks after you all sh**t.

[Paul] It's not that unrealistic.

hanging out with just Enon?

[Lacey] All I know is
Melinda is leaving to go eat

and I'm like, "You can't do that,
'cause I need you here when they call."

because I'm not excited
about interviewing Enon, so...

[Lacey] Melinda and Danny
aren't back from dinner yet

so I have no choice but to page them
and hope that they show up.

-Do we have to go?
-We'll wait a little bit. We'll be fine.

-[Rachel] I've never paged somebody.
-I'm doing it twice.

[Lacey] We're going to The Parish
to meet up with Enon

and get the schedule
and film them unloading all their stuff.

I guess we're doing our thing out back.

and I'm proud of the work I do,

so I'm gonna make sure I do put
a lot of effort into this documentary,

even if no one else wants to.

How did you come up
with the names of your albums?

Usually it's kind of by theme.

[Nehemiah]
Danny and Melinda are eating

while Enon is unpacking their van,
so Danny and Melinda are late,

smooching and doing
all the dumb [bleep] that they do.

We're interviewing them
in a parking garage, behind their van.

Do you have a certain philosophy

you guys go by
when you're writing your music?

A lot of the records, we try and make
what our version of pop music is.

[Melinda] The only person
that seems mad is Nehemiah,

but nobody's really saying too much
of anything to me or Danny.

Danny and Mel need to stop being
boyfriend-girlfriend for two seconds.

I'm can't deal with unprofessionalism.
Like, right now,

it's time for us to just do business
and I can get this earned.

a lot of futuristic sounds.

The way they lay
the vocals down is very interesting.

It's just something
that has uniqueness to it,

and a lot of bands lack creativity
like Enon has.

and they're kids our age and they wanna

we do take our jobs seriously,

but we're trying to not take it
as seriously to the point

where we're ready
to snap like everybody else.

-They're at R-Bar?

Paul and Jenn were telling us
not to drink on the job.

about getting drunk,

it's not being helpful.

I think Halifax are some

have our drunken fights.

What makes it really hard is we don't know

which way to tiptoe
around those kind of things.

Like, a lot of the way
that I acted last night,

I'm not looking at your perspective.
