South by Southwest is making Austin
and Sixth Street
a completely different place
than what we're normally used to.
People are out every single day.
There's bands playing
at all types of different bars.
It's actually a lot more people
and excitement
than I was expecting it to be.

[Wes] As the cameraman,
I am underneath Mike, the lead singer,
holding the camera up as he's just, like,
screaming his heart out.
His sweat and beer are just dripping
on the camera lens.
It can't get any more real

[Lacey] After getting to know
the guys in Halifax
and seeing their performance,
I still think they totally suck.

is nothing that I have any interest in.

to drive an hour away
to film Hellogoodbye at a campsite.
But Rachel got so drunk
from trying to hook up
with Mike the night before
that she forgets to set her alarm.

-[phone beeps]
-Hi, Forrest. This is Rachel.
Um, I was calling
because we had some alarm clock problems.
So we are leaving, um, right now.
I set my alarm for the wrong time,
and we're late.

[Wes] This is gonna be so worthless.
We're gonna get here,
and we're not gonna be able to find them.
-[Rachel] No. We could find them.

They're not at a normal-type campsite.

And we don't have a basketball thing.

I acted stupid last night,
and I hate myself right now,
so I don't think
you can make my self-esteem

Yeah. Rachel broke
their basketball machine last night.
-They're so pissed at her.

She whale-dived on it,
and it folded in half
-and ripped the wire out of the machine.

Mike from Halifax walked behind me,
and I turned around and I was like,

I was noticing a whole new side
of Lacey the past couple days.
[Danny] She's so conniving, dude.
And the reason
why I think I realized it before you guys
is because I was held up
in that house for, like, three weeks.
I'd be home talking to her,
and she would [bleep] all over everybody.

-Just like Rachel thinks
she's the ugly girl in the house,
Wes thinks he's the ugly boy in the house.
No, he does not.
Soon as you turn your back,
she's talking about you.
Not that our roommates are super stupid,
but they're definitely not at the prime
of their intelligence.

that I could think of is,

and we're making a documentary.

-[Rachel] And we're following a band
that's here for South by Southwest.

[Rachel] Forrest?

[Rachel] Yeah, he's probably the one
that registered.
I don't know their last names.
[Danny] Do we have their bios with us?
-Where are they at?
-[Rachel] Um, we don't know.
We were supposed to meet them down here
and they were gonna show us
-where the campsite was.

there's two different areas.
We've got the, uh,
water and electric sites
and then we got
the primitive backpacking site.

to this stupid campsite.
We showed up late
to find out that the band isn't here.
Go around the back of the headquarters
and drop down the hill.
Take this first right-hand turn
and then you'd have to walk
a little over two miles.

We're all a little frustrated
that we were so late
that we couldn't find the band.

But at the same time,
I'm thinking maybe it's Lacey's job
to kind of do some
of this producing stuff
and go film this.
Maybe... you, Nehemiah, and Mel
can go meet them
because we've been up for like...
[Lacey] We decided that Rachel's team
was going to do Hellogoodbye
and my team was going to do Enon.
So, I'm sorry
that they couldn't find the band,
but that's not my fault,
and it's not my responsibility
to go the next day and find them
because they couldn't.
[audience cheering]

and thinking about editing
at the same time.

Filming Hellogoodbye was the last thing
I wanted to do in the morning.
The last thing I wanna do is hike
two miles to find a band in the woods.
Lacey today put her foot down and said,
"I'm not going. It's a waste of time."
[Danny] I thought she was gonna take
this seriously.
She didn't do one thing, like, productive.
Well, the thing that makes me mad
is that's what I wanted to do.
I wanted to be the producer,
and take care of those things,
and I wasn't able to do it.
I think that sometime in the near future,
if Lacey continues to...
to be the kind of person
that she's being,
I'm gonna have to say something.
[Danny] Even though we had,
a bump in the road this morning, Rach,
I think you did a really, really
good job the last three days.
I think you really need to know that
because nobody said it to you yet.

early to go to the campground
while Lacey was telling us
that it was stupid,

[Rachel] She doesn't have to make me.
She knows I'm there.
And I'm like, "I'm sorry, [bleep].
What are you doing?"
-Absolutely nothing.
-[Rachel] Jerky pants.
The reason she didn't wanna come here
is 'cause, "I'm not gonna walk two miles
just to get stupid shots
of the stupid band,"
and I was like, "Ugh!"
[Melinda] Oh, but you know what, like...
"Okay, I'll do it two days
in a row." Fine, [bleep].

Hellogoodbye are some
of the most quirkiest guys
I've ever seen or met.
Their music is fun and it's different,
but it's something that I think
could actually go a really long way
and they're awesome guys.

And she said it with, like,
this look of disgust on her face
when she said my name.

My self-esteem was already
kind of low in this house, and I'm like...

This is the first time
that I actually get to see
the effect it has on the person
