that, you know, might want to, uh, tan it up a little bit.

RICKY: I really would feel better

if we could elect somebody in charge of the checkbook.

I thought I was going to be in charge

of the financing.Svetlana?

'Cause you make me feel so bad for who I am,

and it's like, I don't think there's anything wrong with me.

TYLER: I will never, ever feel guilty

for putting Svetlana in her place.

to her actions.

JOSE: We need someone to start trimming

and finishing the painting.

MAN: I had to put an extra screw in there.

No, we need to come out.

Push it up a little.

ZACH: We need to install carpet.

We need to paint the walls. We need to create the booths.

We need to do so many things.

We need weeks to create

what we're trying to do in this store.

MAN: I just like bangin' stuff.

[laughter]

I wish this blue was, like, less bland,

and I wish the brown had, like, a bronze in it.

TYLER: Why are you talking and not doing something?

TYLER: When Svetlana talks, sometimes I honestly want to get a knife

and just start cutting myself.

I can't even be in the same room with her

without saying something mean to her.

So, I need to find a way to escape.

TYLER: If you worked half as much

as you ran your mouth, we'd be a lot further.

End of conversation.

SVETLANA [laughing]: Are you kidding?

I can't speak when I work?

SVETLANA: Tyler loves attention,

and loves putting people in their place,

and loves being condescending

because Tyler feels as though he is better

than everybody else in this world,

and, trust me, he will have an enormous reality check.

Svetlana? Yeah?

Don't we need to go to the bank?

JOHN: Yeah, we need to get the bank money. Yes.

RICKY: You want to go now,

or you want to finish what you're doing?

I can always come back to this. We're just painting.

I just took responsibility of the finances

because I thought if I showed them how good I am at this,

then maybe it would just promote the fact

that it'll be easier and better for everybody else

if I'm manager.

SVETLANA: One person should be manager.

RICKY: What's good about having a manager?

Because if somebody gets sick...

Let's say it's Jose's turn to work

and he gets sick, you can cover for him.

Because you know...

He knows that you're the one that's going to cover.

JOSE: I totally agree with you.

But if you don't have a manager, then you're begging

other people to show up for you.

So, you have more responsibility, you know that.

I know that nobody else is going

to want to be there seven days a week.

SVETLANA: My father and my mother and another partner

decided to open up a pharmacy and D imaging center.

I worked my a*s off to show my dad that I really want to work.

I obviously proved myself to my dad:

I'm years old, and I managed this huge facility.

SVETLANA: I've always been a manager,

so it's like it'll be awkward if I'm not.

RICKY: How are we going to get people to come in and pay us?

And it's all about...

PAULA: Making money.Making money.

JOHN: We have been kind of kicking around the idea

of putting someone in charge,

which is, in my opinion, necessary for any business.

We need to find a time where we need to really,

before... sort of talking about all of this.

Just kind of...I invited him to dinner.

TYLER: Sooner than later.

What day should we do it?

PAULA: Why don't we do it on Sunday night?

RICKY: That'd be great for me, too.

Sunday night.Sunday night it is.

TYLER: We need to sit down and write down

expectations, and what each job means,

and what's expected.

Yeah, 'cause before we could...

before anyone's delegating tasks,

I think we need to know what the tasks are.

Like, I know Svet wanted to be

kind of like a manager, too.

I think, collectively, our house

would never allow that to happen. Yeah.

She's the youngest,

most immature person in the house.

No one takes her seriously.

ZACH: I'd like to be manager. I think I can do it.

My only complaint about you is that you're too easygoing.

ZACH: But I'm not easygoing

when it comes to getting things done.

I want to be manager,

and I want have the opportunity to do

something that I've never done before,

and I want to be involved in all the aspects of the job.

TYLER: Zach, he listens.

In order to be a manager,

you need to listen to other people's perspectives.

You can't just say it's going to be my way or the highway,

which she basically says.

ZACH:

SVETLANA: No, I will be manager.

I don't think you will.

I already talked to Ricky. I don't care.

You can't talk to Ricky about that

behind everyone's back.We were at the... We were at the...

We were at the bank.I know, but that's not fair.

I am a manager.You can't go to the bank

with someone and then become manager.

I want to be manager.

Nobody is a boss.

Manager is just somebody who organizes everything.

Everybody has...No, it's not.

You can't be manager.Why not?

Are you being serious?

You really want to be manager?I do.

SVETLANA: Zach wanting to be manager comes out of nowhere for me.

I don't even think Zach had a job before this.

I don't even think he's ever worked the way that I've worked.

See this? I'm scooping up manager.

There it is.I want...

Oh, look who's manager.

Have you seen...

You're not listening. You're not being fair.

I will not work with Tyler and Janelle.

I will not help your marketing. So how did...

I've done every single thing,

and I'm good at being a manager,

and that is my job.

And if you want to take that away from me,

then we're...I'm not trying to take anything away from you.

No, then we're going to have a problem,

I'm telling you right now.

Everyone in the house respects my opinion

and would listen to me.

Everybody respects your opinion because you have no backbone,

because you don't have the guts to say

"You're [bleeping] and I don't respect you," that's why.

Because if I don't like somebody, I tell...

It's true, Zach, you want everybody to like you.

ZACH: Her reaction makes me feel like I am worthless in her eyes,

and all of our talks that we've had,

all those times that she needed someone to talk to,

I was there for her.

And for her to act this way now

really makes me question her friendship.

I have no...I didn't say it to be mean.

I have no experience?I'm just saying that you're wrong.

I have no experience in anything at all. You're right.

Zach, if you do that, I won't talk to you.Yes, you will.

I will not talk to you.

If I'm not manager, I'm going [bleep] home.

I need to be manager.

[alarm beeping]

TYLER: I was actually a very good swimmer.

I won countless state titles, set a bunch of state records.

I competed at the national championships,

went to NCAAs.

You're stuck with your coworkers

and their whole bag of bull [ bleep ].

We all need to find our own way of escaping that.

Thank God I found that swim team to join

because it's going to be my ability to get out of the house

and kind of be around different people.

TYLER: Oh, I joined a swim team.

MAN [over phone]: Oh, I didn't hear that.

It's right nearby, which is great.

I mean, I like it 'cause it's...

I mean, Key West is like a really, like,

relaxed chill place,

and so the swim team's really relaxed and chill.

My dad was President of the Burnswell Hockey Association.

My brother was a huge hockey stud.

And I play hockey with them,

and there was this, like, little [bleep ]running around

and, like, my dad's just, like, "Where did he come from?"

I mean, it sucks getting up at :, but whatever.

I am used to it.

I'm as much of an athlete as you can be for you, Dad.

JOHN: All right, you ready?

[laughter]

JOHN: Got to measure about feet of carpet.

I get the idea

to roll it across the street, stop traffic and cut it.

That way we have enough room.

ZACH: Here we go.

[horns honking]

JOHN: Look at all this traffic we made.

Oh, yeah.

JOHN: ...Right over our carpet.

Look what you did to our carpet, lady.

Oh, man.

Hey.

[horns beeping]

[laughter]

He doesn't know what it means to be a manager.

I told him. I was, like,

"There's no such thing as manager."

In this situation, it's organization.

That's all it is.

If I can help make sure we stay on task in certain areas,

and then also have my hand in lots of different things,

and try to make everything get accomplished.

Let's do it.

I don't want it to be a big deal.

I don't want it to be a big deal.

So, it's gonna be, no matter what.

Especially them.

They're gonna be like, "What?

Nobody's gonna be the boss of me."

Blah, blah, blah-blah-blah, blah.

Exactly.I don't need that [bleep].

RICKY: I'm giving you cell phones

so you can leave if you're at

printing store, you're at a promotional place.

I don't care. You can call back

and ask the group questions, ask me questions.

There's two cell phones.

You know, I've been having a really hard time being here.

Mm-hmm.'Cause I feel really isolated.

And I feel really bad complaining because of this.

Yeah. It's gorgeous.

Just to be in this situation.Yeah.

JOSE: The others have not taken the time

to kind of invest in Tyler

and see what he's all about and where he's come from.

He comes off as a very strong person,

and is very harsh in his actions,

but there's definitely another side of him,

which is really cool and in depth.

People don't understand

why I wear my pretension the way I do,

is that I earned it.

I am absolutely a very driven person,

and some would say that I'm driven to a fault.

I worked hard to get from,

you know, farm right near Fargo, North Dakota

to going to one of the most fantastic universities,

you know, in the United States.

You know, who knows where next?

It's all about being driven and potential and working hard.

I'll always know

how hard I worked, and I'll always be proud.

It's more of like a badge that I wear that I'm proud.

Mm, yeah. Oh, for sure.

Everything I have I'm proud of. You know what I mean?

And I completely, completely agree with what you said.

What you said right now-- it's amazing.

TYLER: I need to be constantly challenged.

I kind of want to break into the sport of triathlon.

So, I'm kind of taking baby steps up to that goal.

WOMAN [over P.A.]: Swimmers, take your mark.

Get set. Go.

[whistle blows]

♪ Situation draining

♪ No sense at all

♪ Draining situation...

Unfortunately, I don't have a bike,

so, I decided to simply compete in the biathlon event,

which is the swim and the run.

♪ Here's a situation draining... ♪

TYLER: I won the swimming easily.

PAULA: Congratulations.

That's great.TYLER: Thank you.

Did you get a medal?

No, I get a trophy.

That's amazing.

You do good things, and we turn into idiots.

That's amazing. Congratulations.

But see, that's what I like.

Let's keep it that way, 'cause then I can

point and laugh.

Thank you.[laughs]

SVETLANA: I need another one of something

to put chicken in. That's not enough.

Zach, do you know how to preheat this oven?

ZACH: Tonight, Ricky is coming to dinner, and it's going

to be another one of our major productions

with tears and

too much food and all the workings

of a normal dinner

here in Key West for our cute little family.

Did we ever get sparkling cider?

JOHN: No, I didn't see any.

Can you just give me the stuff for the salad

so I can do that quickly?JANELLE: I'll do that.

I'll do it, seriously. It's not a big deal.

I'll find the stuff.

JOHN: Maybe you're right. You should do this.

JANELLE: You're getting that salad done.

Oh, yeah.

JANELLE: Svetlana feels like she has

to take on every single task that's thrown our way.

Sort of "my way or the highway."

Somebody needs to set the table.

I don't. I don't want him to come here

and think that we're not organized.

No, we just want to have fun. Tonight's a fun night.

It's a fun night. We don't need to get crazy.

If I was invited to dinner, and I came,

and dinner wasn't ready, I'd be a little irritated.

Why?Because you don't invite somebody and then make them...

No. You don't invite them and have the food...

"Here's the food. Eat it right now.

It's all warm for you." It's a process.

Let's chill.

ZACH: So, go change. I'll do this.

No, no, no. I need the honey.

Did Mommy Svetlana teach you this?

Yes.

[crickets chirping]

[knocking]

RICKY: There's no peephole?

No. They covered it.

No, unfortunately not.

So, this is our humble abode.

I'm covered in food.

I don't care. Good.

ZACH: Let's have a toast. Fitz, you know what?

I'll toast for you, okay?

[all toasting]

JOHN: Where's my dessert, b*tch?

[laughter]

TYLER: Quick question about business cards.

Are we having individual ones?Well, we have to decide.

RICKY: We are professional, right?

What our titles are going to be?Yes.

I'll be director of sales and marketing.

SVETLANA: Sales, Director of Sales.

You're marketing.

JANELLE: Is everybody, like, a director of something?

Is that how it works?

JANELLE: I'll be the Vice President.

SVETLANA: Can I ask you what

your definition of a manager is?

RICKY: Management.I know.

JOHN: Why are you so bugged out about this?

Because I just want to know. Because my definition...

No, 'cause she tried something the other day.

No. I don't want you to make up something special.

No, but I feel like in this situation...No.

I'm not gonna allow it. Sorry.

Vetoed. If you're gonna call yourself

a manager, you're managing.

TYLER: Tensions are already rising.

Just even say the word "manager" and people start getting pissed.

Not all of us... the majority of us agreed that Zach would be fit

for a management position.

SVETLANA: Who? Who said that, though?

We have. We all have.

SVETLANA: But nobody approached that to me.

JOSE: Svetlana, who is an obvious candidate in my book,

has the experience, you know, has been there, done that,

and Zach, he doesn't necessarily have

the experience that Svetlana has,

but he gets along with everyone in the house,

and everyone respects him.

I'm kind of torn.

JOHN: What do you guys think?

Just because somebody acts, like, one way,

or like a raging idiot one night,

it doesn't mean that

that has anything to do with work.

TYLER: But if they're in a position of power, it means everything.

It's going to spill over, Paula.TYLER: It will.

Whether you want to believe it or not,

it is going to.Inevitably, it will.

TYLER: I think this is rather absurd. I'll be honest.

Everyone, behind Svetlana's back,

basically elected Zach.

I can't have this conversation.

This is... TYLER: But now you...

This is so personal, it's not even funny.It's not.

[all shouting]

It is! The three of you.Stop saying it's personal.

are the only three people in the house that don't like me!

That's not true!Why are you saying we don't like you?

Because you attack me ever since the day I got here.

JANELLE: That's so not true.

I feel like, because I mentioned that I wanted to be manager,

they said, "Oh, look at her. She wants to be manager.

Who does she think she is?"

I want to see everybody vote.

Okay, so let's vote.

SVETLANA: He's never had this experience before at all.

Just because Zach likes everybody

and everybody likes Zach,

that he should be manager.

TYLER: You're having a tantrum

because you're not getting what you want.

No, I'm not having a tantrum at all.

The manager of this store,

we need to have a collective agreement.

JOHN: We don't agree on anything here.

We can't agree what to have for breakfast,

let alone who's going to manage the store.

We all have to be able to survive.

Majority, dude, we have to vote in a majority.

We have to move on. I'm sorry.

I'm not doing this because I want Zach to be the manager.

SVETLANA: I know. I'm doing this because we have to go

to the next step.[sighs]

So is Zach the manager?JOHN: All in favor?

JANELLE: Yes.

RICKY: One, two, three, four, five.

[sighs]

RICKY: Okay.

Thank you, Zachary.

I think you'll be great for the job.

If you fail, we'll vote again.

Exactly.Yeah.

Okay, we've got manager.

Now we vote for assistant manager.

TYLER: I nominate Jose.

JANELLE: I second that.

TYLER: I really think that Jose is a business-savvy guy

that isn't given the chance to speak.

And with everyone bragging

about how great they are in business,

the one guy who's probably the best is the quietest.

RICKY: Anybody else?

Want to nominate anybody else?

ZACH: I vote for Svetlana.

I know that Fitz has an abundant source of knowledge,

and having her and I working together with her ability

and her understanding

of how to run a business, for me,

I would want to have that library of knowledge.

RICKY: Okay, so let's vote.

JOSE: I just think you and I shouldn't vote.

Let's just leave it, and that's fine.

But then do you... okay.

RICKY: Svetlana? Everybody raise their hand.

Okay.

Jose?

Two to three, it's done.

We've got manager, assistant manager.

Congratulations to both of y'all.

ZACH: Looking at Fitz's face and seeing her eyes swell,

I feel really bad for her, I do.

And I'm really sad that she's taking this so personally.

I want to thank y'all very much for inviting me to dinner.

[overlapping salutations]

You ready?Yeah.

JANELLE: Adios.

Thank you, guys. See you in the morning.

SVETLANA: I have no idea what just happened.

MAN [over phone]: What happened?

So he comes for dinner.

We're having dinner, and we're sitting there,

and he was like, "Who should be manager?"

John, Tyler, and Janelle all say,

"Well, you know, Zach's going to be manager."

I'm like, "What?"

And Rick was just sitting there,

and he just, like, let's the whole [bleep] happen.

[sniffles] They all voted for Zach.

I'm embarrassed that I'm crying,

and I'm embarrassed that I'm acting childish,

but, you know, I'm tired of explaining myself.

All the[bleep] that's been happening

for the past two weeks,

and this is just a kick in the mouth.

But I'm in charge in finance. Are you kidding?

I can't even add.

All you have to do then is just do your job.

They're just doing this on purpose.

I hate it.

Honestly, I don't want anymore to be manager.

I want the roommates to see what they did.

I think the flyer that we're passing out

before we're open definitely needs to be a...

Can I interrupt for one second?

This is the list of people you guys need to call

for awnings and all the other stuff.

Why would she just completely

disregard her activity?

I think that's so immature of her to do that.

I know she feels horrible and embarrassed.

That's irresponsible.

But at the same time, that's what happened,

and we have to move on from that,

and we have to grow from that.

And if we don't, we may never accomplish anything.

JOSE: So she comes out of her room.

She has this paper

with all of the things she was supposed to do,

gives it to Zach and says, "Here you go.

Now you take care of it."

Like completely disregarding all of her duties,

all the things she was going to do.

JOHN: As far as...

Job thing, everything.Wait, as far as...

Everything. Let me see it.

And you know what?

She's really forcing every single one of us

to step up and be the bigger person.

She's so confused as to why we don't want her being manager,

and this, it's this type of ..., dude.

I hear you.Like, are you kidding me?

I'm going to take care of it.

I think once you take a responsibility upon yourself,

you should finish it out, for better or worse.

But it's just the principle of the whole thing.

JANELLE: No, it is the principle.

She's acting like a little brat, and it's annoying.

That's it, ladies and gentlemen,

I'm hitting the bed.JOHN: All right, man.

JOSE: I do think Svetlana would be a great manager,

but the respect is not there, and she just needs

to realize that it's definitely not all about her.
