ZACH: Being down here in Key West and just meeting the people

that I've met and having all the opportunities

When she drinks she feels that she can be more

outflowing with her emotions.

ZACH: Watching Paula's behavior,

I am worried about her.

Her drinking is not helping her life.

PAULA: You're all being b*tch asses!

[Paula yelling]

ZACH: This is the Paula that comes out

after a long night of drinking.

The fact that people don't cap markers

drives me insane.

When Paula gets into this mode,

she's not Paula, she's Paula Walnuts.I know.

JOHN: It's kind of upsetting

that when Paula gets to a certain point in drinking,

you really can't look at her as the same person

or rationalize with her

in the same way

as you would when she's sober.

MAN: Dude, what's going on?

PAULA: Nothing.

[little girl voice]: Get to go to my doctor tomorrow.

Are you nervous about that still?

It's just that you've got to work on a couple things,

that's all.

Supposed to be going to a doctor

who's basically going to be letting me know

that I'm crazy and there's a lot of things wrong,

and that he's going to tell me all these things to do,

how to fix them, and they're not going to work.

I'm real tired, so I'm going to take my pillows

and put them on the ground.

ZACH: When it fell over,

it sliced the cord in half.

PAULA: Everybody else can die.

JOHN: I'm about to show you why

they made me director of operations right now, dude.

she is not just affecting her experience in Key West,

but she's affecting everyone else's.

Paula needs professional help.

ZACH: I really adore Crystal, but I need to tell her

It's hard to have that conversation where you say,

I think Crystal knows where I'm coming from.

But the problem is, I don't think she wants to believe it.

No, I take diet pills.

It's got ephedra.

A lot of things aren't good for people and they still do it.

Exactly.

It makes me feel like I can't eat.

The ephedra makes you think that you can't eat?

How's that work?

Like it's a give and take.

If I stop taking them, then I'm not going to eat.

Just for the record,

it's a really dangerous drug,

and one of the problems is

that it makes people nervous,

and you're pretty nervous.

[muttering]

What is it about this you hate

talking about it and thinking about it?

[voice cracking]: I'm feeling like...

Let me explain what we're going to be doing.

We're going to be getting you to understand

your thoughts that make you feel bad,

and then teach you how to maybe question those thoughts.

I think that I can help you.

I think that you can get your life back

so that you can start to be happy.

Yeah, but I don't think it's going to happen.

If you think that, you might be right.

JOHN: You had a long little night there, buddy.

ZACH: You know.

JOHN: She woke up here,

so I'm assuming that you guys just didn't go upstairs.

I'm like, "All right. Hi, darling, see you in the morning.

JOSE: Were you making out last night?

touch any part of the other person's body below the waist?

ZACH: Basically what I think now and then I said,

regardless whatever's gonna happen later on,

let's not worry about that, and let's just enjoy the moment.

And if in the moment, we want to be together

and have fun and all that, let's do it.

Zach has told Crystal that

he doesn't want anything serious.

However, I think his actions are going to start

contradicting what he says, and as we all know,

actions definitely speak louder than words.

ZACH: I like Crystal. I respect Crystal.

Whatever we did and whatever we're going to do physically

is a reflection of our relationship with each other,

You have to start to believe that

that's a possibililty.

It's called Feeling Good.

I want you to really work this book.

It's not a fun read. It's a self-help book.

It's probably thebest book

for working on depression.

PAULA: Dr. Covan doesn't make me feel crazy or bad.

He almost makes it something that's so normal to feel bad,

and that it's still possible to feel better.

PAULA: It's different than I thought it would be.

I thought he would be able to, like,

fix my problems.

He's just trying

to help me understand

the way I think.

That's good.

You feel like he has a lot of good advice.

Yeah. He was saying, "You're really depressed."

And I didn't even think that I was depressed.

It's like depression doesn't mean

like sad all the time, doesn't want to do anything.

It just seems like

everything is so overwhelming.

I'm glad he's blunt with you.

ZACH: She's starting the process.

It's a long and difficult road,

but as long as she's willing

and as long as she feels like she has support,

which she does here,

then nothing's stopping her.

What about diet pills?

Oh, yeah.

He's like, "I think you put so much

"emphasis and focus on what you eat

"to distract yourself from other things,

so it's a way of like kind of gaining control on something."

He's right. I over, over-think things

and I over-worry about things

and I'm an anxious person.

I think he just wants me to relax more

and put all this pent-up anxiety into other things.

I had hit rock bottom.

I can only go up.
