[imitates engine revving]

It's the final lap!

He's in the home stretch

about to set a new FINCAR record!

William Manta is number one!

He's done it!

Bubba, are you okay?

-It was an accident! I swear!

- [gasps] My lamp! What happened?

- Would you believe I just became

the new FINCAR racing chomp-ion?

- Oh, William, you're old enough to know

how to play carefully in the house.

- I'm sorry, Mom.

- I know you are.

But I need you to be more responsible.

You're not a little gup anymore.

- [sighs] Mom's right.

I'm not a little gup anymore.

It's time for me to grow up.

[dramatic music]

- We got your Code Magenta!

What's the emergency?

- The time has come, my fishy friends,

time for me to put away childish things

and become a grown-up.

- Huh? - Great gills!

- A grown-up?

- I need to prove to my mom that I can be responsible.

Will you help me?

- Well, if that's what your mom wants,

then of course we'll help you.

Besides, it's kinda fun to play grown-up.

- Dearest William, we shall till your soils

and water your roots until you blossom

into the most radiant of roses.

- Yeah, that.

- Ah, there's nothing finer than a freshly raked lawn.

- Now you try.

I need to feel the years of toil in your voice.

- [snoring]

[whistle tweets]

- Pick up your groceries!

- Perfect score! Congratula-fins!

- Phew. Being a grown-up is hard work.

♪ Talkin' 'bout the good ol' days ♪

- [gasps] Paperclips?

I love this one!

- How about we celebrate Billiam's new grown-upness

with a game of Hide and Hunt?

- Great idea! - Yeah!

- Actually...

- One tuna, two tuna...

Ready or not, here I swim!

[laughter]

- Aha! Gotcha, Billiam!

- My apologies, Baby Shark,

but I have no time for youthful games.

I'm catching up on current events.

- But...uh...you're it?

Billiam? Hello? Billiam?

- Great gills.

Suit Swimporium is having a sale on beige pocket squares.

all: Huzzah!

- What is your wish, my liege?

- As queen of all fishkind, I proudly declare--

- Uh, excuse me.

Would you fishies mind keeping it down?

I'm conducting a board meeting with my work associates.

Now, circling back, we need to raise our quarterly profits.

I'm looking at you, Manny T.

- Ah, sorry, Billiam.

We'll keep it down.

[whispers] Quiet mode, fishies.

[all whispering] Huzzah!

- That's better...right?

- William, try a free sample of my new chum-yum flavor,

Surfberry Supernova!

- Sorry, Mr. Clownfish.

My name is Billiam now, and I only eat grown-up snacks,

like floatmeal.

Oh. Mmm, so flavorless and responsible.

- One free sample, please.

- Oh, you got it, Ernie!

- Whoa! This flavor is outta this world, Mr. Clownfish!

- It is?

Um, I mean...how nice.

Excuse me. I have to go do...yardwork.

No, I'm afraid I'm much too grown-up for that.

Billiam loves paying bills and standing in line

for overpriced carp-achinos.

- Dear Billiam, are you all right?

- I'm fine.

I just don't have time for childish shenanigans.

- Wow. Being a grown-up sure seems tough.

- I'll say. I could never give up the gift of boogie.

[upbeat music]

- ♪ Ooh ♪ - ♪ Ooh, ahh ♪

- [sighs] They just don't understand

this is how it has to be.

Yuck.

- Breaking news: my son is eating floatmeal

without me asking.

What in the seven seas is going on here?

- I can't do it, Mom!

I want to prove I can be responsible,

but I miss playing games and having fun with my friends.

And I'm sick of floatmeal.

- Oh, William, I don't need you to be a grown-up.

All I meant was that you need to be more thoughtful

about how you play.

- More thoughtful?

- Yeah, you can have fun.

Just not in a way that causes a mess for others to clean up.

That make sense?

- So I don't need to be a grown-up?

- Nope. You have your whole life to do that.

For now, just enjoy being a squiddo.

- Heads-up, William!

- Baby, we can't play Shore Square yet.

There are one, two, three, four shore squares

and only one, two of us.

- Okay, so we need two more fishies.

- And not just any fishies.

We want two fishies who will make a fin-omenal team.

But who could that be?

both: Hmm.

Hank and Goldie!

- Those two get along famously!

To Hank's house!

- Mm, whoa, count me in!

And Rocky can be our fourth!

- Actually, we were about to go ask Goldie to play.

- Oh, Goldie?

On second thought, I don't want to play.

both: Huh?

Did something happen between you and Goldie?

- It's really none of anyfishy's business.

She knows what she did.

We gotta go inside.

It's...uh...it's time for Rocky's violin lesson.

- That was weird.

- Totally weird.

I thought Rocky played the cello.

- If Hank won't tell us what's wrong,

maybe Goldie will.

- I don't know what anyfishy did.

I'm so confused.

- Goldie, you and Hank are really good friends.

- Maybe we should stop popping out on fishies like that.

I just adore dramatic entrances.

But pray tell, what is this all about?

- We brought you a gift from Hank

that shows how sorry he is.

[gasps] Is this supposed to be some sort of joke?

- Well, that didn't work.

- You know, Goldie, if you just tell us

what the problem is, maybe we can help.

Now I'm storming off with this beret.

- Thank you for supporting small businesses.

[both groan]

- [grunts]

- [sighs] It's just not the same.

- I can't stop thinking about Goldie and Hank.

They used to have so much fun together.

- But we tried helping, and we made things worse.

- We need to remind them how much they like each other,

then they'll be friends again!

Think! When were Goldie and Hank

the closest they've ever been?

both: Hmm.

- Well, there was that time Hank threw Goldie a party

at Iceberg Ice Cream after her one-fishy show.

- [laughs]

They shared the biggest ice cream sundae ever.

- And Goldie taught Hank how to tango.

- And they both watched Rocky do stand-up comedy.

[laughter]

I bet if we re-create that day,

they'll remember all the fun they had

and forget about their problem, whatever it is.

[upbeat music]

- Hank and Goldie should be here any minute.

[bell dings]

[both gasp]

both: What are you doing here?

- You're both here to remember

the bestest day you ever had together!

How about a sundae?

- I'm not hungry. - Me neither!

- Hmm, okay, if ice cream's not your jam,

you two can tango!

He-heh, see how much fun?

♪ ♪

both: No!

- Uh, okay, maybe Rocky can share some jokes.

- Rocky's not in the mood to deliver any

hilarious-yet- thought-provoking jokes today.

- And we're not in the mood to hear them.

How dare you trick us into seeing one another?

both: Hmph!

- Oh, but you just have to be friends again.

Don't you remember how much you care about each other?

- I keep trying to tell you, leave us be, Baby Shark.

- For once, I agree with Goldie.

Rocky, we're leaving!

[bell dings]

- Dramatic exit!

[bell dings]

[chair squeaking]

- You are in rare form today!

Couldn't have broken them up better myself.

- [groans]

[sighs]

- What's wrong, squiddo?

- [sighs] Goldie and Hank aren't getting along.

I tried to get them back together,

but I just made it worse.

- Aw, Baby, it's really sweet that you care so much,

but sometimes it's best to give fishies space

to swirl out their problems for themselves.

- I just want my friends to get along.

Is that so wrong?

- Of course not. But listen...

[upbeat music]

[laughter]

- [sobbing]

- Ugh, sometimes it's so hard to give your friend space

when they're upset, but I can do this.

- Huh?

I thought you fishies didn't want my help.

- We didn't need it.

Everything's better now.

- Then why are you crying, Hank?

Oh, well, I'm crying because Goldie's sad poem is...

really, really sad.

[sobs]

- You see, last time I performed my said poem,

Rocky kept smiling, but it's not a comedy.

- But Rocky can't help how he feels.

He just didn't find it very sad.

- And Rocky's honest reaction motivated me to work harder

on my performance, and now look how sad my poem made him.

- Anyway, that's what caused our fight.

But since you gave us space we took the time we needed,

and we were able to swirl things out on our own.

- Aw, I'm so glad everyfishy's friends again.

From now on, I promise to give everyfishy space

when they need it.

- You're wrong.

- Nuh-uh.

You're super wrong.

- Oh, no!

Chucks and Vola aren't getting along.

I gotta fix this.
