- Gotcha! - [laughs]

I'm getting away!

- Freeze! - Freeze!

- Oh, bubble busters.

- [gasps] Everyfishy's frozen!

[imitates rock guitar]

- Whoo-hoo!

[both laugh]

- Huh?

[thunder rumbling]

both: Rain!

- We can't play in this.

- Quick!

We have to unfreeze everyfishy.

[energetic music]

- Aw. That's it.

I'm heading home.

- Me too. The show must not flow on.

[upbeat music]

- [stiffly] Baby and William wouldn't forget about me.

Would they?

- [gasps] Wait a minute!

I forgot something!

- [shivers]

I knew they wouldn't forget me.

- I can't believe I almost forgot.

- Ooh...

- This cool new seashell I found!

[laughs]

[thunder rumbles]

- [sighs]

They're probably here to apologize

for leaving me!

My fishies! I am happy to see you.

- Chucks, we have something really important to say.

- We want you to practice for the dodgebubble tournament

with us.

- Huh?

Dodgebubble tournament?

There's nothing else you want to say to me?

Uh, maybe you want to express deep regret

for forgetting something at The Wreck...

- Huh... [gasps]

Oh, you mean my jaw-some shell?

- Mm...

- Chucks, it's not about complaining.

so I don't have to deal with it.

and talk dodgebubble strategies?

I joined Vigo's book club,

and I don't wanna be late.

do you think it's odd

that Chucks is hanging out with Vigo?

- Not really.

Vigo may be a supervillain,

but what he does with a charcuterie board

is magic!

[delicate music]

how did everyfishy feel

about the surprise twist at the end?

[all hemming]

of me setting this up every week

if nofishy is going to do the reading?

If you don't want to read,

You wanna go cloudgazing to clear our heads

before the dodgebubble tournament?

I joined your grandma's knitting club,

so I'm gonna stay here and chill.

- Oh, you fishies are playing in the dodgebubble tournament?

Us too!

We even knitted our own sweatbands.

[dramatic music]

And Chucks is our new secret weapon.

- Wait, Chucks, I thought you were playing

in the tournament with us.

- Yeah.

I have a freshly knitted sweatband

with your name on it!

- [gulps]

Oh, which fishies do I choose?

This is so unchill!

- Hey, Chucks.

You excited to play dodgebubble?

- Not really.

I wanna play with Baby and William,

but they hurt my feelings.

Maybe I shouldn't play at all.

- Or you can tell Baby and Willliam how you feel.

- But they're my friends.

I don't wanna fight with them.

- You don't have to.

You can be chill and tell your friends how you feel.

I'll bet they'll understand.

- Uh, I guess you're right.

- I usually am.

Life would be a lot easier if you'd remember that.

[both laugh] - Aw, thanks, Maddie.

Hey, fishies.

There's something I wanna--no,

I need to talk to you about.

- Sure, Chucks. What's up?

- When we played freeze tag,

you forgot to unfreeze me,

and... that hurt my feelings.

- Oh, no! We totally did!

- Does that mean you'll play dodgebubble with us?

[crowd cheering]

- That was quick.

- Takes longer for me to brush my teeth.

- Well, of course they won.

Their fins are super strong from all that knitting.

[all laugh]

- "The Crystal Coral Conundrum."

[stately music]

- Splish-splash!

Thank you fishies so much

for helping me get ready

for the annual mayoral dinner

with Mayor Squids.

- No trouble at all,

Mayor Anchovy.

[grunts]

- It's like the most important playdate of all time.

- And that Mayor Squids is one tough fishy to please.

- Oh, don't I know it!

[cell phone buzzing and ringing]

Mayor Squids!

- Shello, Mayor Anchovy.

I trust everything is ready for tonight?

I must admit, I am so looking forward

to seeing the Crystal Coral Tree.

- Ah, yes.

The most important, beloved, and historical symbol

of the fin-ship between our two towns.

- Show me that dazzling tree.

I haven't laid eyes on it in so long.

- Why, of course.

The Crystal Coral Tree is right--

[all gasp]

- It's missing?

- I knew I should've never trusted you

with such a precious object.

If the Crystal Coral Tree isn't on glorious display

the fin-ship between Carnivore Cove

and Inkington will be ruined!

[sighs] I suppose when I let Scoops borrow it.

- [gasps] William Watson, we've got a lead!

- A lead indeed.

See what I did there?

- I sure do.

[upbeat music]

How do you explain this?

- That was one

of our most successful ice cream displays.

We were promoting our new flavor,

Crystal Crunch.

- Ooh, that was a good one.

after you borrowed it?

on cultural landmarks.

- Big Fin borrowed it.

Rayna, we're live in three, two...

- Good morning, Carnivore Cove.

The Crystal Coral Tree has gone missing

ahead of tonight's super-important mayoral dinner.

But not to worry. My son and his best friend

are on the case... which is good,

because the entire town is depending on them.

- [gulps] - [gulps]

- Hey, Big Fin.

- Okay, Big Fin admit.

Big Fin use tree for teaching still life painting class.

- The life... It's so still.

- So what happened to the tree?

- Uh, Goldie took class and ask to borrow.

- [sighs] - [sighs]

- Seems like nofishy realizes what a problem it is

when they don't return the things they borrow.

- Get a hold of yourself, Detective.

We've got a lead to follow.

- Why, yes, I used it as set decoration

for my one-woman show, "A Tree Grows Underwater."

But then Bait and Switch borrowed it.

- It was a great plant-sitter.

- Yeah. Planty really looked up to it.

- But then we lent it to Briny.

- Oh, that was the best back scratcher.

But Krilly Vanilly needed to use it.

- Let's flow, Detective Baby Shark.

Detective Baby Shark?

- Oh, sorry.

I got distracted by the hat again.

- ♪ Ooh ♪

- ♪ Yeah-eah-eah ♪

- Nice job, Vanilly.

- Nice job, Krilly.

- Oh, that was swim-sational!

- But, uh, what did you do with the Crystal Coral Tree?

- That was the most fin-credible tuning fork.

- It got us singing in perfect...

- And what did you do with it after?

- Well, we lent it to...

- You know, I can't quite recall.

- But we lent it to some-fishy.

- [groans]

[downbeat jazz music]

If only Krilly Vanilly

returned the Crystal Coral Tree to Briny!

- And Briny to Bait and Switch, and Bait and Switch to Goldie,

and Goldie to Big Fin, and Big Fin to my mom,

and my mom to Scoops, and Scoops to Mayor Anchovy!

[panting]

- This is it. The trail's run cold.

- You can say that again.

Brr. Brain freeze!

- I can't believe

we finally met a case we couldn't crack.

- Guess it's time we hang up our detective hats for good.

I can't bear to face Mayor Anchovy.

- And I can't bear to give back this hat!

Maybe he wouldn't mind if I just kept it

for a while...

- Uh, I don't know, Baby.

This whole Crystal Coral conundrum

would've been avoided

if fishies just gave back what they borrowed.

- You're right.

It's time to face the music,

and it's not as fun as the song we sang earlier.

[both sigh]

- Splish-splash! You couldn't find it?

- Oh, no.

- We're really sorry, Mayor Anchovy.

- Sometimes, when we sink our teeth into a mystery,

the mean streets of Carnivore Cove

bite back.

- But what about that whole song

where you sang about solving every case?

- I guess we sang too soon.

- We're sorry to let you down, sir.

- The dinner party's about to begin.

Mayor Squids will be here any-- [doorbell rings]

[screams]

- I'll buy us some time if you want to use

the emergency escape route.

- [sighs]

Funny story about that hat rack:

I got it from Krilly Vanilly.

I must not have seen it under my top hat...

and my weekend top hat and my breakfast top hat

and my "feeling sassy but professional" top hat.
