02x01 - The Real Returns/Atsushi's Sweet Recipe/Relativistic Dazai

Post by bunniefuu »

Stray dogs.

A pack of lost dogs
dwelling in Yokohama.

Beast Beneath the Hydrant!

Breakfast is ours!

Ruffshoumon!

What is it, Akutagawa?

I smell something.

Yeah? Let me see.

How dare you!

What's the matter, Atsushi?

Why aren't you crossing the finish line?

They're here.

We found you.

Is this the location?

Yes. The military police reported a
number of stray dogs in this area.

I enjoy exterminations.

Just a bit of fun, and then we're done.

Nomnoms.

It's the Hunting Dogs!

Gen'ichiro...

We should flee!

Pathetic.

You gonna tuck your tail and run?

My tail's always tucked into a loop!

That wasn't a compliment!

There's no escape.

You have only yourselves to
blame, you scrawny dogs.

- Actually, we're well fed.

- Shiny

- There are lots of nice
people around here.

Your coats are glossy, too!

I'd give up if I were you.

Our noses are a million times
better than a human's.

So are ours!

What's our crime, anyway?
We're innocent!

Well, uh...

- This place is overrun by strays.

- CROWD

- I can't deny that.

- Apparently, it's a problem
that we're strays.

Should we find human owners?

Hell no! That's lame!

And a hassle.

Being forced to obey a master's
orders is a miserable life for a dog.

Yeah. Tell 'em, Atsushi.

What?

We can hear you, you know.

Enough. Let's do this.

What was that?

I said, "Ritual chew toy Amenogozen!"

That sword...

This is bad! Run, everyone!

We can't! She changed breeds
and is blocking our path!

Special Arfbility:
Plum Blossoms in the Dog Park!

Not plums! I'm scared!

Fukuzawa.

Forgive me, Gen'ichiro.

What are you doing,
weretiger—I mean, weredog?

Who are you calling a dog?!

Let's defeat them together.

But how?

I'll use my special arfbility
to strengthen you.

But then you'll be naked.

Everything is a trial.

No! Are we not even allowed
to live in peace?

I'm afraid not!

This mad dog will tear you to pieces!

What? Mad dog?

Did you get your rabies vaccines?

Have we?

I'm not sure. We've been surgically
altered in plenty of other ways.

That doesn't sound safe!

We'll come back after we find out.

We'll spare your lives for today!

Until next time!

Well, should we go get breakfast?

Unbeknownst to the
Armed Detective Agency,

the stray dogs' endless
battle continues.

Kyouka-chan, let's throw a crêpe party.

You can make crêpes?

Yup, with this hot plate.

Gather 100 grams of pancake mix,
one egg, 200 milliliters of milk,

some butter and whipped cream,
and your choice of fillings.

Combine the pancake mix, milk,
egg, and sugar well.

Once the hot plate is warm,
melt some butter on it.

Ladle some batter onto the
hot plate and spread it thin.

This part's important.

The key is not to make it too thin.

Spread the batter evenly.

Once the edges are crispy,
carefully lift it with chopsticks.

Hup!

After briefly cooking the other side,
transfer it to a plate.

Top with chopped fruit
and whipped cream.

Fold it like this,

and it's done!

It even looks store-bought when
you wrap it in cute paper.

Here you go.

It's good.

Kyouka-chan, do you want
to try making one?

Can I?

Of course.

You can even make savory crêpes
with tuna and sausage.

- And it's fun to make
crêpes for your friends.

- Chuuya, I made you one Heh heh

- Chuuya, I made you one.

- I'm not eating that.

Also, with this takoyaki pan...

You're making takoyaki?

Combine the pancake mix
with eggs and milk

and pour it into the pan...

to make little, round baby castellas!

Add almonds and draw a face
with chocolate to make...

Bunnies.

That's right!

Isn't this fun? They're so good.

Um...

What is it?

So, what's the punchline?

What?

Desserts are universal.

Try throwing your own crêpe party.

The phenomenon called I is a single
blue illumination of a hypothesized

organic alternating current lamp.

Where's Dazai-san going?

Shopping?

Picking up trash?

He's skipping work.

I bet he's fulfilling his civic duty.

Sounds like nobody agrees.

Dazai-san is a mysterious person.

But I can't imagine what he
does when he's by himself.

He's probably dying.

He can't be!

No, that does sound possible.

If we happen to see Dazai-san,
should we report what we observed?

Okay.

Why would you do that?

I still think he's going shopping.

I think he's making the
world a better place.

What?!

What about him makes you say that?

Because people who seem like delinquents
at first glance secretly do good.

You think he's a delinquent?!

All he ever does is slack off.

- He's always slacking off.

- Kunikida-kun!

- Kunikida-san's being attacked
by past Dazai-sans!

I think he's out saying hello to people.

That's the last thing he'd do.

The other day, he said
hello to a pretty lady.

Oh, that's what you meant.

Dazai-san?

I knew it. He's going shopping.

I've known Dazai-san
for a pretty long...

Wait, what do they sell here?!

This sign is so eccentric
that it's incomprehensible!

Côtelette d'agneau,
zomarito, ruffman, shanti!

Say what?!

I wouldn't get them anywhere else.

They're expensive,
but they offer them to go.

I can't wait to use this white
powder and feel really good.

Dazai-san bought something shady!

Are you cold? Poor thing.

Why, there's some trash here.

I must clean up the city.

What? Some bank robbers got away?

I'll be right there!

Good.

Dazai bought shady goods,
rescued a stray cat,

cleaned up the streets,
and caught some bank robbers?

There's no way,
especially not what Kyouka said.

I agree.

He's as languid as milk
that's turned into yogurt.

Milk that's turned into yogurt?

Why'd he let it get that bad?

No! You'll get a stomachache!

Don't drink that, Dazai!

Fine! I'll go check on him myself!

Nobody's more curious than Kunikida-san.

See? You good-for-nothing blockhead!

I spent three hours looking for you!

What? Where did this come from?

Forget it! Go ahead and
die for all I care!

After you spent three
hours looking for me?

In that case, Kunikida-kun,
forgive me for dying before you.

And forgive the money I owe you
and all the pranks I've pulled.

Wait a minute!

Don't take advantage of the
situation to shirk your debts!

I'll never allow that!

On second thought,
I'm bringing you back with me!

What?

All's right with the
world. {Robert Browning}

Good grief.

Oh, welcome back.

Hey, Naomi-chan.

Were you out?

Just a bit. Oh, right.

Are you familiar with the
theory of relativity?

You mean in the academic sense?

It's not so complex.

The way we perceive things changes
depending on the observer.

In other words, there are as many
worlds as there are people.

That sounds rather complex.

Oh, really?

Well, that was a joke.

So, what was Dazai-san up to?

He bought some shady goods.

He acted like a hero.

He skipped work for
suicidal shenanigans again.

He was saying hello to everyone.

What's going on?!

Dazai-san, Bungo Stray Dogs
Wan! 2 is finally here.

So it's one, but also two?

Stray Dogs one, two!

Stray Dogs one, two!

Sounds good to me.

Join me, Atsushi-kun! One, two!

One, two! Louder!

One, two!
