It really just was...
The more we watched it,

the more freaked out we got.

be haunted.

I mean, my goodness, there's
no parenting book for that.

A man is tormented...

Swear I seen something.

...By a shadow person.

Oh, my

you don't want a shadow entity
in your house

or to follow you around.

Plus, even more
paranormal footage

you have to see...

I'm watching you.

...To believe.

Old abandoned buildings
sometimes seem to take on

lives of their own.

And one never knows
what entities might lurk

in the empty spaces inside.

Paranormal investigators enter
such places at their own risk,

all for the chance of a close
encounter with the spirit world.

But when one amateur
ghost hunter in saudi arabia

entered a supposedly
haunted mansion...

...He got way more...

...Than he bargained for.

In the winter of 2019,
saudi ghost hunter alaa ghanem

approaches an allegedly
haunted house

in the saudi arabian
countryside.

Armed with nothing
other than a camera

and his faith
in a higher power...

...He gathers up his courage

and enters the building...
Alone.

Almost immediately, alaa
senses a heavy presence.

And then, as he stands
in the empty living room,

he suddenly hears something...

...The sound of footsteps
coming from the second floor.

Excited, alaa rushes
towards the sounds,

hoping to capture
something paranormal on camera.

But the closer he gets...

...The more freaked out
he becomes.

Could the entity
haunting the house be a jinn?

Here we have, in a
completely different culture

from our western norms,

someone in the islamic world
doing urban exploration

and looking into rumors
of hauntings and spirits.

But over there,
instead of ghosts,

most likely, the belief is
that jinn haunt this location.

A jinn in the muslim religion

is sort of this entity
that never was alive.

It's sort of in-between
an angel and a human.

And for the most part,
they tend to be malicious.

As alaa walks deeper
and deeper into the house,

the jinn... or whatever it is...

Seems to sense his fear...

...And toy with him.

But it's too late to turn back.

If you are going to
investigate a location

and your mind-set
is one that is of terror,

it's probably not a great idea,

because
you're gonna be attracting

a lot more negative energy.

At this point, alaa
is beyond freaked out.

Panicked, he begins to move
through the house

like a crazy man,
taunting the entity.

Everywhere he goes,
whatever this is

seems to be evading him...
Toying with him, almost...

So if I were him,

I probably would get out of town
before things got dangerous.

But alaa senses
this jinn is close

and has come too far
to give in now.

Then, as he approaches
the very center of the house...

He's capturing movement
of what looks like to be

this giant, like, steel cistern

that rolls on its own,
like if somebody kicked it.

Typically,
it's very difficult for a spirit

to move something physically,

so that must mean that
the activity in that house

is either not just one person
or spirit, but multiple spirits,

or if it is one spirit,
it's, like, powerful...

Like, majorly powerful.

The power of this entity
proves to be too much for alaa.

He gets out of dodge,
never to return.

Alaa has learned his lesson.

Beware the evil jinn.

For centuries, the sight
of a lunar eclipse

struck fear into the hearts
of earthbound stargazers...

Possibly due in some part
to this passage in the bible

from joel 2:31...

"the sun shall be turned into
darkness and the moon into blood

before the great and terrible
day of the lord come."

and while most of us no longer
believe a lunar eclipse

is a sign of judgment day,
it can still send chills

down the spines of some
who view it from the earth,

especially when that viewing...

Includes an unidentified
flying object.

What is that?

In the summer of 2019,
in london,

photographer paul kent headon

aimed his camera
into the night sky

to film a lunar eclipse,

when he suddenly
captured something

unlike anything
he had ever seen before.

Look how bright that is.
That is proper bright.

- Can you see that alright?
- Yeah.

The pulsing red light
quickly rose in the night sky,

amazing those on the ground.

It looks like a
proper ufo to me.

I'm always watching the skies.

My dad's going, "you're always
watching the skies.

What are you watching
the skies for?"

I say, "just in case.

Just in case
there's something there

that's not meant to be there."

is it moving, though?

Is it moving towards the moon?

It does look like it.

It looks like it's moving,
doesn't it?

When the light showed up
on my video camera,

I couldn't quite work out
what it could be,

because, in all my experience,
it wasn't a plane,

and it certainly wasn't a bird.

And then, when it got faster
and faster,

as it started rising
and rising and rising,

"well, that's definitely
not a planet, either."

that's what I said.
It was a ufo.

You reckon?

I reckon.

'cause if it was a plane...

It's coming above the moon now.

We looked at all
the possibilities
of what it could be

and found no answers,
so it became a ufo.

It didn't take long for the ufo

to pass the height
of the moon completely

and continue on up into the sky.

What is that?

It's just going
straight up into the air,

and it's self-illuminated,

and it definitely
looks like a ufo to me.

If you pay close attention
to the craft,

it actually seems to have
a variable speed.

It seems to slow down
and speed up

during certain portions
of its flight.

And that could lend credence
to the fact

that it's an intelligent craft,
it's intelligently controlled.

So this may, in fact,
be some sort of alien craft

checking out the eclipse,
just like us.

Now, see, as I said,
it was a ufo.

You reckon? I reckon.

Well, I'm glad I've got it
on me camera.

And that's not the only shot
paul got of the object.

In this second, closer angle,
you can see it moving

at an apparently
incredible speed,

hurtling past jupiter
and its moons.

Is it moving that fast?

Oh, yeah. Moving that fast.

And when I get even closer,
it moves even faster.

Whatever it is, it's moving
at a pretty quick speed.

Is it jupiter?

It can't be any of the planets,

'cause they don't
move that fast.

And the moon isn't going down.
It's rising.

What is that?

Though paul was convinced that
this was indeed an alien craft,

he had his own theory
as to where it came from.

The idea that they say
these craft

are coming from other planets
kind of blows my mind,

knowing how far planets
are away, you know?

Why would they travel
all that way

just to turn up for five seconds
and then disappear?

They wouldn't.

And my idea is that
they've always been here.

Whether or not they
flew in from somewhere on earth

or from another galaxy
altogether,

their existence
is seemingly undeniable.

I believe that these ufos
are spotted all over the world,

eclipse or not.

I mean, there's something
out there.

What is that?

I'm glad I've got it

There's nothing quite like a
relaxing afternoon of antiquing.

But be warned.

Certain entities have a habit
of latching on

to some of these old objects
from time to time.

And if you specifically
go after relics

that are creepy and macabre...

Well, you're
practically inviting

these troublesome spirits
into your home.

Such was the experience
of one collector in milwaukee,

and she will never forget it.

In spring of 2019,
cheri esperon was being plagued

by mysterious noises
throughout her home.

There were disembodied voices,
footsteps,

and things falling off shelves.

Suspecting it might
have something to do

with her collection of ghoulish
relics in the basement,

she and a friend
set up a video camera

to see if they could catch
anything out of the ordinary.

They put the camera here,

in front of this clock
on the mantel

and next to this
motion-activated doll

to the right.

Then they left the room.

That creepy voice you just heard

belongs to the
motion-activated doll.

Remember, there is no one
in the room.

When cheri returned to the room
a short while later,

she reviewed the footage
and was shocked.

I'm cheri esperon, and I
recorded the video at my home.

When I first saw it,
I couldn't believe it,

but more than anything
I was pretty excited

because it kind of gave
a little credence to the things,

the stories I'd been telling
of things that I was hearing

and seeing
and feeling in the basement.

I'm watching you.

I've always been interested
in the weird and macabre,

the oddities, and I decided
to re-create my basement

into an oddities room

and started collecting items
from estate sales, flea markets.

It was at that point

that the strange occurrences
in her home began.

We would hear walking around.

I've had voices come up
and whisper "mom" in my ear.

I always just chalked that off
to overactive imagination.

But when things started falling
and breaking,

I needed an answer.

And the clearest message
that cheri received

from the ghosts
attached to the objects

came from
the creepy talking doll.

I'm watching you.

When the doll goes
"I'm watching you,"

then giggles...
I mean, that was crazy.

And the fact that the
doll's motion sensors went off

is proof that something
was in the room.

I mean, that is, like,
pretty awesome

because these motion sensors...

They don't really know
how to lie.

They sense motion or they don't.

I'm watching you.

There was a force of some kind,
living or dead, in that room

that had to set off
that motion-sensitive doll.

I'm watching you.

It seems that it is possible
for a spirit or entity

to set off a motion detector.

I've seen many investigations
where one of these devices

are actually triggered
by an unseen force

that a lot of people assume
is a spirit.

And about that framed
butterfly plaque...

The butterflies were
purchased at an estate sale.

There were hundreds upon
thousands of butterflies

at this estate sale.

You could definitely say that

whoever had those
butterflies loved them,

and they could still be
attached to them.

And upon closer inspection,
it seemed as though

there was someone...
Or something... attached to it.

Watch closely as a shadow
seems to cross the room...

Before and just after...

The framed butterflies
falls off the wall.

What really bothers me,
intrigues me...

Even excites me...
Is that you can actually tell

it goes behind
and in front of the chair.

At first, I thought the shadow

was just somebody
walking behind the camera.

But thankfully...

And to the credit of the people
taking the video...

They give you a 360 view
of the room.

So for the skeptics who go
"okay, I know what that is,"

you see that there's really not
a lot of space

for someone to be there,

and there's no light source
that's casting

in such a way
to create such a shadow.

So if the logical reason
is not the correct one,

we have to consider that,
"alright.

Maybe... maybe
it was supernatural."

And just to make sure
that what they caught on camera

was legitimately paranormal,

cheri and her friend
conducted a few tests.

Smack the cabinet.

What I really like
about this video

is they actually
go through the steps

to try to debunk some of
the activity that they captured.

They poke the doll.

They actually slap the picture
on the wall,

trying to see if any of these
things are faulty

and maybe it could fall down.

I'm still trying to
find a way to disprove it,

because it's pretty
unbelievable.

Though still not
quite a believer,

cheri has come to terms

with what might be happening
in her basement.

I will probably continue
to still try to find

a rational reason for the video.

I'm comfortable with it, though.
It doesn't scare me.

Now that I've yelled and stomped
and said

"quit breaking my stuff,"
my stuff has stopped breaking,

so at least that's a positive.

If it was me, I would be afraid.

I really wouldn't want to
just have this thing

hanging around my house.

I might get rid of all
the creepy stuff in my basement

or maybe try and just get
rid of it through other means.

being pulled up by a ghost?

There's a belief

that spirits are particularly
attracted to babies

because they are vulnerable
and open to otherworldly energy.

This can lead to haunting,
paranormal activity,

or, in one case, something
even more terrifying...

An entity determined to lift
this baby out of his crib.

One morning in 2019,
becky moss and her husband

woke up in their
oxford, michigan, home

and did what they always do
before getting out of bed...

Looked at their baby monitor
to check in

on their 2-year-old son
asleep in his crib.

But what they saw instead
was so bizarre

that they immediately began
to film it on their phone.

There was what appeared
to be an orb

hovering above the baby
as he slept.

But what happened next
terrified them...

...When someone or something

began tugging
on the baby's leg...

...First one and then the other.

My name is becky moss.

I clicked on the monitor
and just saw something weird.

So, it really just was,
the more we watched it,

the more freaked out we got.

Becky and her husband
immediately sprang into action.

We ran in his room,

and I had
the video monitor with me,

and he, like, waved his hand
around the area,

around the monitor

for any, like, dust
or bugs or cobwebs

or anything like that,
and it was still on the monitor,

but you couldn't see anything
with the naked eye.

And eventually, it just kind of
disappeared off the screen.

This is straight out
of a horror movie.

If I'm the parents
and I'm watching this,

I am freaking out immediately
and bringing that kid

out of whatever room they're in
and into my room.

In this video, you can clearly
see this toddler's leg

appears to be lifting
on its own.

Now, I know that children
are little, tiny acrobats,

so they can lift their legs
and arms in weird ways,

but this almost seems beyond the
abilities of this child to do.

But if the baby wasn't
lifting his legs himself,

who was?

Could there be a spirit
attached to the orb?

This orb seems to be
dancing around the crib.

And at first, I thought
maybe it was a flashlight,

maybe it was someone off
to the side

flashing a light into the crib.

And then the baby seems
to be lifted,

like the orb grabs its leg
and lifts him up to say,

"hey. What's going on?"

now, is this an attack
on the baby?

I don't know,
but whatever it is,

it seems to coincide
with the movement of that orb.

And if it was the orb
lifting the baby's legs,

the questions must be asked...

Who is the entity
behind the orb?

And what does it want
with this innocent baby?

We are all over here believers
in the supernatural and spirits

and all of that stuff,

so we definitely don't think
that people just go away.

I do think that possibly
things stay around

all that stuff.

I've heard all kinds of stories
about children being visited

or even messed with
in their crib by spirits

or whatever you want
to call these things

and that
maybe what we're seeing here

is maybe a deceased grandfather
or something like that

came to visit the child.

Why he would lift him up
by his leg, I don't know,

but that certainly seems to be

some sort of strange activity
going on here.

I would love to believe

that whatever was messing
with this baby

is a young spirit
from that family

or related to that family
in some way

that was checking in.

You can only speculate
why this thing, this orb,

wants to lift this baby up.

You don't really know
what a ghost thinks.

Unnerved by what had happened

but eager to share
the experience,

becky posted the footage online.

After the video was put online
for our friends and family,

it kind of blew up and had
a lot of people messaging us.

And with thousands of hits
came a multitude of theories.

It really didn't matter
what other people were saying,

because it happened to us.

Regardless of all the feedback,

becky and her husband have their
own thoughts on the matter.

We want to, obviously, believe

that whatever it was
is good and harmless,

but we definitely both have
the same beliefs

as to, you know,
"it's not a negative energy.

We don't want
to disturb anything."

anything like that.

I think any parent watching
this video would be concerned.

Until you introduce yourself
and say, "hi, I'm here.

This is who I am.
I mean you no harm,"

going straight to the raising
of the leg is a red flag.

There's been no other activity
since that night,

but becky and her husband remain
cautious... and watchful...

that the dark energy
known as shadow people

are around us all the time,
whether we know it or not.

Reportedly shy by nature,

these mysterious entities
from another dimension

are extremely difficult
to catch on camera.

But if you ever do, be careful,

because, as one man in scotland
will tell you,

they are absolutely terrifying.

March 2012, scotland.

Ryan holz is home alone
in his parents' house,

when he starts
to hear strange noises.

What the?

Then...

The lights in the front hallway

suddenly begin to turn
on and off.

- This is what I mean.
- Crazy

Hello?

But that is nothing
compared to what happens next.

Watch the center of your screen
very closely.

Oh, my

Did you catch that?

Look again, as a shadow
figure ascends the stairs.

Oh, my

oh, my

need the lights on.

We see what can only be
described as this black figure

running up the stairs,
and it's just so pitch-black

that it doesn't seem
to be a living person.

It is very rare to capture
something like this on camera,

to have a shadow entity on film.

Oh, my...

The fact that this gentleman
has already seen a shadow person

tells me that there may be a lot
of activity taking place here.

So if I were him, I don't know
if I'd necessarily

be scared right away,
but I would certainly

be paying attention
to what's going on around him.

He felt a presence,
something going on in his house,

and the capture of that shadow
going up the stairs

seems to be validation, 'cause
you can hear it in his voice.

He is terrified.

Oh, my

But how dangerous
is this shadow person?

I swear to I seen something.

Well,
that all depends... on ryan.

Shadow people... they are
manifested from the energy

of the living people around it.

So if that energy is positive,

there can be a positive
shadow person, maybe,

but if that energy is negative,

then that can create something
a little bit more malicious.

Given ryan's emotional state,
it's likely the shadow figure

will not necessarily be
a soothing presence.

Shadow entities are scary.

It's not like having, maybe,
the spirit of your grandfather

or whatever just
following you around.

You don't want a shadow entity
in your house

or to follow you around.

Not knowing what else to do,
ryan decides to investigate.

Alright, it.

Alright.

But at the base of the stairs,
he hesitates.

Pursue the shadow entity
upstairs

or get out of the house
as quickly as possible?

It's a nightmare.

It's like, to me, that's always
negative energy... always.

And your job
is not to try to get it out.

It's to try to find somebody
to help either get it out

or just leave
if it won't leave you.

Just go.

Yes, this man has every
right to freak out.

He's got a shadow person
living in his home.

Ryan stayed
at a friend's house that night

and, thankfully, reports
he has not had

another sighting
of the shadow figure since.

permanent collection...

...Of ghosts.

Of all the haunted
museums around the world...

And yes, believe it or not,
there are many...

Few come close to the level
of paranormal activity witnessed

at the institute of
texas cultures in san antonio,

a museum that highlights
the histories

of the many different cultures
that have settled in texas.

According to local legend,

the museum has long been haunted
by spirits of the past

that weren't shy about
making their presence felt.

And one museum security guard
has the audio...

...And video to prove it.

In the summer of 2012,
troy simchak,

a former tech sergeant
in the air force,

got a job as a security guard

at the institute of
texas cultures in san antonio.

But just before
his first day on the job,

his friends who worked
at the local precinct

asked him a question.

The dispatchers out
at the police department said,

"oh, have you seen the ghost?"

and I was like, "ghost?
What are you talking about?"

and they said, "no, don't
show him the ghost.

He won't want to work there."

and I go, "no, I'm good.
Let me see this ghost."

So the dispatcher showed troy
some recent security footage

from the museum's gift shop.

Watch carefully as an entity
appears to cross the room

and pass through a wall.

The camera's looking down
on top of the store,

and you can see arms and legs,
and it has a gait.

And it turns left, and as it
goes through the cashier's desk,

you can see through it.

What they caught on
the surveillance camera

is definitely a spirit walking.

And you can see...
It looks like it walks, like,

right through the display case
and everything,

so it's not dust.

It's not a camera flare
or whatever.

It's real. You can see it.

The camera's actually
inside of a little dome,

so there's no bugs in there
or dust or anything like that.

I mean, to me,
it's a paranormal thing.

Troy had never had
a paranormal encounter himself.

Intrigued, he decided to go
through with the job,

no matter what.

For a while,
all seemed uneventful...

Until one night
while troy was making his rounds

and noticed a vault door
was open.

He knew it was supposed to be
closed and locked after-hours

to protect the safe inside,

so he quickly checked in with
another security guard on duty.

I called the other guard,

and I said,
"hey, did you check this?"

and he goes, "I just did
my checks.

That door was locked.
Did you open it?"

and I go, "no, I didn't."

so I stayed on the floor,

and the guys went down
to watch the camera.

And what they saw
on the security camera feed

defied explanation.

The thing about that door is,

it can only be opened
from the inside,

unless you have a key.

There was just no way
it just popped open.

It just couldn't.

So troy and the other guards
decided to investigate further

by trying various approaches
to opening the door.

I'd let the door go, and they
were watching the camera,

and they would check it
against the video and go,

"no, it's too slow.
Try it again."

so I tried to let it go again.

We did that for probably
30 minutes.

Finally, I kind of turned it
and gave it a little push,

and they go, "that's perfect.
What'd you do?"

so somebody had to have
flipped it open, you know?

But they knew that there was
no one else at the museum

at that time.

At least... No person.

If you look at the
bottom-left corner,

you'll see a shadow move
towards the door.

Somebody else got that
and pointed it out to me.

They go, "did you notice

the shadow
in the lower left-hand corner?"

I was like, "no, I didn't."

so something's going on there.

Doors opening and closing
is a common trope

among paranormal activity.

Sometimes, you don't know how
much energy these spirits have.

Knowing that there was
this shadowy, smoky figure

that was captured
walking through walls,

plus having this door
open on its own...

I think that the accumulation
of that type of evidence

leads you to suspect there's
a haunting going on there.

The longer I worked there,
the more things happened.

And I couldn't explain them.

I mean, I really racked my
brains trying to figure it out,

and a lot of times... I mean,

there are people
talking on the exhibit floor...

Like, more than one
talking to each other.

So I was like,
"well, I have a recorder.

That's a cheap thing to do.
I'll do it."

you know,
so I started doing that.

I would sometimes just
leave it run,

just see if I could
pick things up.

And one night,

troy's persistence
with the recorder paid off.

Listen closely as troy
attempts to communicate

with whatever entities
are in the room.

I never really thought
I would get anything back.

I know it was a definite "no."

It just sends chills
through your body

just to hear the response
and to hear the tone.

If whatever
they were speaking to

never walked the face
of the earth, then that means

that it is not the spirit
of a person who died there.

It is something else.

It just opens up your mind to,
like, wondering,

"well, what the heck
could it be, then?"

If the ghost was not human,
could it be demonic?

Troy didn't dare to venture
a guess.

And though he no longer
works at the museum,

his curiosity about what exactly
haunts its halls lives on.

I know that something paranormal
is going on there.

I just...

There's a slew of things
that have happened.

If you took each one of those
and just left them alone,

I wouldn't really pay
too much attention to it,

but all of them together,
it makes me believe

that south texas museum has
some legit phenomena happening.

captures a threat from beyond.

Ghosts.

Apparitions of the dead

that show up at unexpected
moments in strange places.

Most people live
their whole lives

without ever laying eyes
on one of these entities.

But recently,

two "paranormal caught
on camera" viewers from kansas

hit the jackpot
when they caught not one,

but two different video angles
of what they believe was a ghost

walking through
their neighborhood.

Where was it going?

And what did it want?

In June of 2019,

stacy beiker and dan noblitt
were watching tv,

when their security-camera
system detected movement

outside their home
in great bend, kansas.

At first, when they looked
at the monitor,

it appeared to be
a moving, breathing person.

But then watch closely

as the figure begins to flash
in and out of existence.

My name's stacy.

And I'm dan, and this is
our video from our cameras.

We had just watched
a scary movie.

Our dogs were going
crazy upstairs,

and so the hub is right
beside us downstairs

and me and my daughter
looked over at it

just to see what
they were barking at,

and that's when we noticed it.

And then, once we did see the
figure of the guy walking.

And then, when he walked
behind the cars,

he just kind of disappeared.

At first, it looks like
an actual person

walking down the street.

And then, if you watch
the footage over and over again,

his gait, the way he
walks, a little bit...

It kind of drags and slides
and leaves tracers behind him.

And the more you watch it,
it doesn't look like a person,

really, so much
walking down the street.

It kind of looks like
an apparition to me.

Judging on what I'm seeing,

this looks to be maybe
something residual.

It doesn't seem to interact
with anybody around it.

It doesn't touch any vehicles.

Just simply walks from one side
to the other.

Now, what does give me
a bit of pause is the fact

that houses in the background...
Their lights come on

and you can hear
several dogs in the neighborhood

that seem to be excited
by this entity's presence.

What was even more remarkable
was that the entity was also

caught on the couple's
second security camera.

We checked the
other camera and noticed

it was the same on both cameras.

Kind of freaked us
out a little bit.

This one is cool
because we have two cameras

from two different angles
seeing the same thing,

and it would be one thing
if one of the cameras

showed a distinct, solid person
walking down the street

and the other one had caught
some sort of after image.

Both of the cameras show
a person

sort of appearing
and disappearing...

Largely translucent,
despite the obvious solidity

of everything else that
that camera has captured.

Nonbelievers say it's a
glitch on one of the cameras,

and then I'll show them
both camera views,

and then that's what
really gets them.

They're like, "wow. We think
you guys have something."

If two cameras see
the same thing,

that's like
corroborating witnesses

where one backs up
the other one's story.

And they can't both have
the same electrical glitch

where things just disappear and
just evaporate right on-screen.

And knowing something about
cameras and electronics myself,

I don't see how that could be
the only thing in the video

that disappears,

while the leaves on the trees
stay and the cars stay.

I mean, our cameras
are extremely hi-def.

We were told they were
the best cameras on the
market when we bought them.

So, I mean, we live by
a school, so little kids
walk by every day,

and at night, people
are always walking, walking
their dogs and stuff,

and everything's
always crystal clear,
except for that time.

Yes, you can clearly see
that it's a person.

So this one was really strange.

But why did this ghost choose
to haunt their neighborhood?

Turns out, he or she may not
be the only spirit in town.

For weeks leading up to that,
we would be laying in bed,

and our cameras
have facial recognition,

and they would be telling us
that they were recognizing faces

out in our front yard.

And they would zoom in on
a tree and, like, show, like,

a face in the tree,
and there would be nobody there.

So for weeks leading
up to that, that's what
we were dealing with,

and then that actually happened,
so it was pretty crazy.

Did stacy and dan capture proof

that a world exists beyond
the tangible and the visible,

that the dead walk among us?

Their dog certainly thinks so.

Even last night,
we had the windows open,

and the dogs go sit
at the window and bark

for 10, 15 minutes at a time,

and there'll be
nothing out there,

but they'll just sit
there and bark.

Even if you don't believe,
you have to wonder.

We're constantly
checking the cameras.

We're always on the lookout
now for something like that.

We have motion detection
on our cameras, as well,

so every time it goes off,

we're always checking it out
to see what it is.
