[narrator]: It is the night before Christmas at Peppa's house.

Peppa and George are asleep.

Mummy and Daddy are asleep.

Granny and Grandpa are here too. And they're asleep.

Who is that? [thump!]

- h*-h*-h*! [narrator]: It is Father Christmas.

- My last delivery.

Oh, why do they have to make chimneys so small?

Oof! Oof!

[grunting]

[narrator whispering]: Father Christmas is putting presents

around the Christmas tree.

It is very early in the morning.

- Come on, George! [George snorting] [both giggling]

[George laughing] Mummy, Daddy, wake up!

It's Christmas!

- Kissmas! [exclamations] - What? Already?

[giggling] - Granny! Grandpa!

- Ah!!! What?! - It's Christmas day!

- Oh. [laughing]

- Oh, I suppose it's just about daytime.

[narrator]: Peppa and George are excited it's Christmas.

Everybody is excited it's Christmas!

- Look!

Father Christmas has brought presents!

[rattling] [snorting]

[narrator]: George has a toy boat. - Boat! Boat!

[rattling] Peppa has a rocket.

- Zoom! Zoom! [giggling]

Who's that big present for?

- It says "Grandpa Pig." - Open it, Grandpa!

- h*-h*-h*-h*!

Ooh! That's just what I wanted.

- It's a drone! - I don't really like the word "drone."

I prefer to call it a quadcopter.

- What does it do, Grandpa?

[snorting] - Watch this.

[narrator]: The drone can fly! [all]: Ooh!

- And I can see what it is seeing on the controller.

[snorting] - Ooh! [laughter]

- Let's see what it can do. [all]: Wow!

- It's like a busy bumblebee! - Buzz, buzz!

[Peppa laughing]

- And how long does the battery last?

- I don't know. But when the battery runs low, it flies home all by itself.

- That's clever. [snorting] - At the moment,

it thinks home is the North Pole.

- Because that's where Father Christmas lives.

- Exactly.

- Perhaps you should change the home setting before you play with it, Grandpa.

- Oh, there's plenty of time for that, Granny Pig.

[narrator]: Here is Mrs. Duck.

[quacking] - Hello, Mrs. Duck. [snorting]

Hello. It's me, Peppa.

[snorting] [quacking]

[quacking] [laughter]

[beeping] What's that noise?

- It means the battery's running low.

- Here it comes!

- Yes, all the way home. [all]: Hooray!

- And home is, uh, the North Pole.

- Ah. Yes. [snorting]

Perhaps I should've changed that.

[narrator]: The drone is flying all the way to the North Pole.

- Oh. What are you doing back here?

[narrator]: Peppa and her family are having Christmas lunch.

[horn blowing]

- Don't be sad about losing your present, Grandpa.

- Well, it was fun while it lasted. [doorbell ringing]

- h*-h*-h*!

- Father Christmas! - At our front door!

- Yes. I decided not to use the chimney this time.

I had this large present to deliver again. [groaning]

- My quadcopter!

[narrator]: Grandpa Pig loves his drone.

Everyone loves drones! [laughter]

- Merry Christmas, everybody!

[narrator]: Peppa and George are visiting Grandpa and Granny Pig.

- Granny Pig! Grandpa Pig! - Hello, my little ones!

- What have you got there, George?

- Robot!! - It's a robot called Mr. Robot.

Shall I show you how it works? [both]: Yes, please!

- Mr. Robot can walk all by himself!

But you need to use this.

It's called a key.

[both]: Oh! - You put the key in here,

like this, and turn it.

[giggling] [George laughing]

- Very impressive.

- Oh. It stopped.

- The long grass is stopping it from walking.

Perhaps you could cut it, Grandpa Pig.

- Yes, maybe later.

- Let's do it again! [snorting]

Oh. Where's the key?

- It must've fallen out when Mr. Robot was walking.

[George wailing] - Don't worry, George. I'm sure we can find it.

Can't we, Grandpa? - Yes. I have the very thing for finding lost keys in long grass.

Now, where is it?

- The lawnmower is right in front of you, Grandpa Pig.

- But I'm not looking for the lawnmower.

I'm looking for... this!

My metal detector! [snorting]

[narrator]: Metal detectors are good at finding lost keys.

- Oh! It's not in the box.

- Is the me-tal de-tec-tor lost as well? - I'm afraid so.

- Oh, dear. Sorry, George.

The key is lost forever. [wailing]

[honking] - Who can that be?

- Hello, everyone! - Hello, Mr. Fox.

- What can I sell you this morning?

I've a solar-powered torch, a wooden frying pan, an electric gnome--

- Nothing for us today, thank you, Mr. Fox.

- Unless you've got a metal detector.

- Metal detector? Well, why didn't you say so?

I've got a metal detector right here!

- Fantastic! It's just like my old one.

- It's got three settings: Finding things, good at finding things,

and really good at finding things.

- Excellent. We'll take it.

- Now we can find George's lost key!

[all]: Hurray!

- How does the metal de-tec-tor work, Grandpa?

- I'll show you. Imagine I have lost this coin.

I turn on the metal detector,

and swing it gently from side to side.

I'm looking for it here, I'm looking for it there.

- But Grandpa, you put the coin here!

- I know, Peppa.

I'm just pretending to look for it.

- Why don't you pretend to look for it here? - Here, you say?

Aha! I've found something! It's a coin!

- Yes, Grandpa. It's the one you just put there.

- Yes, Peppa. And that's how you find things with a metal detector.

- Can we have a go? [snorting]

- Of course. Let's find that lost key.

[giggling]

- Here... there... here... [beeping]

We've found something!

- Oh, it's a nail. [kids]: Oh.

- Keep looking! [laughter] - Here... there...

[beeping] There's something else!

- A spoon! What's that doing here?

[giggling and snorting] - This is fun! [laughter]

- Key! Key! [narrator]: George wants to find the key.

[beeping] - Ooh! What is it, Grandpa?!

- It's the key! [all]: Hurray! [snorting]

- Now we can wind up Mr. Robot! - No.

[narrator]: George never wants to lose the key again.

- Don't worry, George. If the key falls out again,

we can find it with my new metal detector.

[beeping] Oh!

- You found something really big!

- It's your old metal detector, Grandpa Pig.

It was hidden in the long grass all the time! [laughter]

- Excellent! Now I have two metal detectors.

When one gets lost, I can find it with the other.

- But what if they both get lost?

- Then I'll cut the grass. [laughter]

[narrator]: Peppa and George are spending the day

at Granny and Grandpa Pig's house.

- Hello, my little ones. - Look, Granny.

[boing!] This is my fairy princess.

- Oh, hello, fairy princess.

- Granny, where is Grandpa Pig?

- He's down in the garden making something. [snorting]

Come and see. [laughter]

- Grandpa Pig! - Papa Ig!

- Hello, Peppa and George.

- What are you doing?

- I'm making a rock garden.

- What is a rock garden?

- It is a tiny version of a mountain landscape,

made of just rocks and flowers.

[kids]: Ooh!

- Nothing is here that wouldn't be on a real mountain.

- My fairy princess could live there.

- h*-h*! That wasn't quite the sort of thing I had in mind. - There!

- Uh, maybe that's not--

- And Mr. Dinosaur could live there, too.

- Grrr! [kids giggling] [Grandpa laughing]

- Okay, the fairy and the dinosaur can live in the rock garden

just for today.

[all]: Hooray! - Now, would you all like to help me find some more rocks?

- Yes, please! [snorting and giggling]

- I found a rock, too. [snorting]

- I say, you're a nice-looking rock.

- Look, Grandpa. We found rocks!

- Very good!

And look what I found.

One of the most unusual rocks I've ever seen.

- It's all looking very pretty. [snorting] What else can we add?

- How about a toy car for the fairy to drive?

- Uh,,, maybe not.

- Or a unicorn for the fairy to ride!

- Yes, a unicorn would be lovely. - No, no, no!

I've allowed the castle and the dinosaur,

but from now on, just real rocks and flowers.

- Okay, but it could do with some bigger flowers, don't you think?

Those look a bit titchy.

- Well, uh, it's quite early in the year for big flowers. [honking]

[narrator]: Here is Mr. Fox in his van.

- Hello, Granny Pig. What can I see you today?

- Well, we do need some flowers for Grandpa's rock garden. - Flowers, you say?

Lucky I dropped by. I've got flowers like you've never seen before!

Here you go. [kids]: Ooh!

- Lovely. Do they need any special looking-after? - No.

They're easy to look after. They're plastic.

- Oh. I don't think Grandpa would like that.

[snorting] He wants real flowers.

- These are better than real.

You can bury them and dig them up in , years, and they'll be as good as new.

- Oh, my goodness! - Tiddles?

Tiddles? [narrator]: Here is Dr. Hamster.

- Have you seen my Tiddles? He's run away again.

- Yes! Grandpa found him.

[squeaking] - There you are, you naughty little pickle.

what a lovely rock garden.

- Yes, it is rather good.

And I suppose it doesn't have to be exactly like a real mountain.

- Grandpa, we didn't show you the best bit!

I don't need anything, thank you.

Oh. Where's Grandpa Pig? Does he want anything?

I'm afraid Grandpa's busy digging a pond.

It might very well be a dinosaur bone, George!

NARRATOR:Grandpa Pig has found a gold coin.

It's treasure, Grandpa!

How is the pond coming along?

Very well. We've dug up a cup, a dinosaur bone and a coin.

It's buried treasure!

How exciting!

I have a little treasure too.

That is not treasure.

That is a gnome.

NARRATOR:Grandpa Pig does not like gnomes.

Mr. Fox says it's an antique, very rare, one of a kind.

Of course he did.

Grandpa? Do you think we really have found buried treasure?

I'm not sure. But the museum would know.

NARRATOR: This is the museum.

Hello, can I help you?

Hello, Mr. Rabbit.

We've dug up some treasure!

Let's take a look at what you've got.

Mmm! A fine china cup. Interesting.
