[Peppa]: Clubhouse takeaway! [laughter]

[narrator]: Peppa and her friends are playing at the clubhouse.

- What did you have for dinner last night?

- I had spaghetti. - I had baked beans.

- I had cheese! [giggling]

- For my dinner, I had a pizza takeaway.

[all]: Ooh! - What's a takeaway?

- A takeaway is when you ring up the food place and tell them what you want.

They do all the cooking... and bring it to your house.

[beeping]

Then you pay for it by beeping your card.

[beep!]

[snorting] - They bring food to your house?!

- And they cook it for you? - Yes.

And it was so yummy, we gave it five stars!

[all]: Ooh! - Let's do a pretend takeaway!

[others]: Yes! [laughter]

- We are pretending the clubhouse is a takeaway! [Daddy Pig chuckling]

- That sounds like fun. - I love takeaways.

- You have to ring up and tell us what you want. [laughter]

- Ring-ring! Ring-ring!

- Hello. Clubhouse takeaway.

How can I help you?

- Hello. Can I order some food, please?

- I can't hear you very well!

- Can I order some food?!

- Yes! What do you want?!

- A vegetable tempura!

- I don't know what that is!

- It's crispy fried vegetables.

- No, we haven't got that!

- Okay, I'll have a salad.

- Please, may I have a pizza?!

- And I would like a pie.

- A salad, a pizza and a pie coming right up.

What happens now?

- Now we need to find some things to cook.

- What sort of things?

- Green and crunchy things for a salad...

- Pizzery things for pizza!

- And tasty things for a pie. [giggling]

[narrator]: Danny, Freddy and Candy are finding things to cook.

[barking] - Salad! [laughing]

[laughing] - Pizza!

[laughing] - Mm! Pie.

- Green and crunchy things for a salad.

- Pizzery things for pizza.

- Tasty things for a pie!

- Now we cook the food in our toy oven.

- Ping! - And it's ready!

[laughter] - Wait! We need boxes.

You can't do takeaway food without boxes.

- Daddy, have you got boxes? - Here.

Use your lunch box.

[giggling] - Thank you!

Takeaway boxes.

- Thank you, Pedro.

- Lovely! [snorting]

- Who's gonna take them to the mummies and daddies?

- Me! [squeaking] Send them down the slide!

[narrator]: Mandy Mouse is taking food to the parents. [giggling]

- Here you are, Mummy Sheep.

- Um, but I ordered a salad. - That is salad.

- Mm. Lovely crunchy salad.

- Now beep your card to pay.

- Beep! [giggling]

- That's your pizza, Daddy.

- Mm. What a delicious pizza.

Oh, um... beep. [giggling]

- And what do we have here? - It's your pie, Daddy.

[sniffing] - Wow! That is a tasty pie!

Beep. [giggling]

- How many stars is it? [snorting]

- Ooh. Um, stars!

- A hundred stars!

- One-million stars!

[kids]: Ooh!

- Mm. - Now I'm hungry, Daddy.

[kids]: And me! - Me, too!

- Oh. Would you like some of my pizza?

- No, thank you. [snorting]

Are there any sandwiches?

[chuckling] - Yes. Here you are.

- Mm! Yummy!

- Thank you, Mummy. Mm!

- So how many stars would you give our sandwiches?

- Mm... four. They are good.

- But not as good as a clubhouse takeaway.

- The clubhouse takeaway is the best takeaway

in the whole wide world!

[Peppa]: Walkie talkies! [laughter]

[narrator]: Peppa and George are playing at Granny and Grandpa Pig's house today.

- What are you doing, Grandpa?

- I'm taking these naughty slugs off my lettuce.

- Ugh! - But now we can do something fun instead.

[giggling]

I've made a push-button machine to water my fruit and vegetables.

[kids]: Ooh! [snorting]

- I press a button... [beep!]

...and water goes down a pipe to my raspberries,

strawberries, peas,

lettuce or potatoes.

- Clever Grandpa! [beep!]

- The thing is... [snorting]

...I don't know which button waters what. [kids]: Oh.

- But you two can help me... with walkie-talkies!

- Are they toy telephones? - No. [snorting]

The police use them for important police work.

- I've got you. Choc Chic! - Roger that.

- We can use funny names.

You call me... Pirate Hog.

[laughing] - Okay, Pirate Hog.

- What shall we call you?

- Uh... Jelly Face!

[laughing] - And what do you want to be called, George?

- Dinosaur! Grrr!

- You say "dinosaur" for everything!

It has to be something else.

- Cheese! - Mr. Cheese!

[snorting] Now, go and stand by the vegetables,

and tell me what gets wet. [kids giggling]

[narrator]: Here are the police in their police car.

- This is the life, eh? Driving the open road.

- Pirate Hog calling Jelly Face and Mr. Cheese.

- What's that?

- Those sound like made-up names.

- Let's listen in.

[Grandpa Pig]: I push the button now.

[Peppa]: The potatoes are wet.

- Very clever. They're using a code!

When they say "potatoes,"

they mean something else.

- Why would they do that?

- Let's follow the signal and find out!

- Calling police station.

We are tracking a g*ng of pirates!

[Grandpa Pig]: I'm pressing the next button.

- The lettuce is wet.

- Ooh! [narrator]: George has found a slug.

[George giggling] - Ugh! Mr. Cheese took a slug...

on the lettuce!

[Grandpa Pig]: Put him in the bucket. [both gasping]

- That sounds serious.

- We are closing in on the pirate signal!

[Grandpa]: And last of all--

- Peas! - Well done. [snorting]

We are finished!

- Who would like a piece of cake and some orange juice? [both]: Me, me, me!

- Granny, we've been walkie-talking with Grandpa! - I see.

[narrator]: The police have arrived at Granny and Grandpa Pig's house.

[Granny]: Pirate Hog, come and get your share of... the cake.

- They must be sharing out the treasure.

- Lovely cake, Granny Pig.

[both]: Police! [Pigs]: Ah!!!

- Granny Pig, Grandpa Pig,

fancy seeing you here.

- Well, we do live here. [snorting]

- Of course you do. It's just that--

- We've been tracking a pirate g*ng

operating in the area.

- What?! - Yes.

They were using walkie-talkies to talk to each other.

- They used code words to keep things secret.

- Ooh! What words did they say?

- Words that won't make any sense to you, Peppa.

- They certainly made no sense to us. [laughter]

- Would you like some cake? - Oh! Yes, please.

- "Cake" was actually one of the pirate g*ng's words.

As well as "potatoes,

peas, lettuce"--

- And did they say "Jelly Face" and "Mr. Cheese"? [both]: Yes.

[laughter] - Ah, that was us! - That was us!

[snorting] [laughter]

- Peppa and George were helping me set up my watering system.

[radio crackling] Potatoes.

Peas.

Lettuce.

- So there was no pirate g*ng? What a relief.

- Just Peppa, George and Grandpa Pig.

- And the walkie-talkies. [George snorting]

[narrator]: Peppa loves walkie-talkies.

Everyone loves walkie-talkies! [laughter] [snorting]

[Peppa]: Peppa's office!

[narrator]: Today, Mummy and Daddy Pig are both working from home,

in their office.

- Hello, Mummy. - Oh, hello, Peppa.

- I'm a bit bored. George just wants to play dinosaurs!

[George]: Dinosaur! Grrr!

[George giggling] - Oh, dear. I'm sorry to hear that.

[ping!] - Ooh! What was that noise?

- That was someone sending me an email.

- What's an email?

- An email is a message about all the work I'm doing.

[phone ringing] Oh, excuse me, Peppa. Hello.

[narrator]: Mummy Sheep is in the shopping centre.

- Hello, Mummy Pig. [bleating] Want to join me for a coffee?

- Oh, sorry, Mummy Sheep. I'm just too busy working.

- Oh, okay. See you soon. - Right.

- Daddy, what are you doing?

- I am ticking boxes. [snorting]

And now I am rubber-stamping.

- Can I do rubber-stamping? [chuckling]

- Why not. [giggling]

[phone ringing]

[narrator]: Mrs. Cat is ringing from Daddy Pig's work office.

- Hello. - Hello, Daddy Pig. At last. How are you getting on?

- Um, can we touch base at the end of the day,

make sure we're on the same page?

- No problem.

- Why did you talk funny, Daddy?

- That's office speak. [snorting]

- Come on, Peppa, let's find you something to play with.

- But I want to help you and Daddy do work.

- Okay. Well, here's my old keyboard you can work on.

- Ooh! Thank you! [giggling]

[snorting] Ping! Ping! Ping! [giggling]

- Why don't we find you a little space in here to do your work?

[George giggling] - Dinosaur!

Grrr! [giggling]

- It's too noisy.

I need my own office, like you and Mummy.

[sighing] - I don't think we have any more rooms.

- Yes, we do! - But that's the cupboard under the stairs.

- No, Daddy. It is my office.

[narrator]: Peppa's office is the cupboard under the stairs.

- Yes. I see. [chuckling]

Maybe your office would work better without all this stuff in the way.

- Yes! Now, I just need a little table and a chair.

- Here you are. - Thank you, Daddy.

[humming] - Vroom! Vroom!

- Sorry, George. I can't play,

because I am working in my office.

[narrator]: Peppa loves work in her office. - Aha!

Can I do rubber-stamping in my office, please?

- Yes, of course you can.

- And can I have some paper and some sticky tape too?

- Here you are. Have some labels and some envelopes, as well.

- Thank you. Because I have a lot of work to do today.

George, please can you lick these envelopes

while I do important things? [George snorting]

[narrator]: George loves helping Peppa do her work.

- Ping! Ping!

[phone ringing] - Hello? Mummy Pig speaking.

- Hello, Mummy Pig. Can I speak to Peppa, please?

- Peppa, it's Suzy for you.

- Hello, Suzy. No, I can't play today.

I'm on a page and I'm touching my face!

- What?

[narrator]: Office speak is very hard to understand.

- I need a chair that goes round like Daddy's.

- Have my chair, Peppa. [snorting]

This will suit me fine.

- Whee!!! Now I can do my work!

[narrator]: Peppa, George, Mummy and Daddy Pig have had a very busy day

doing their work.

- That's my last email sent.

- Just one last call. Hello, Mrs. Cat.

I've checked all the numbers and we're good to go. See you tomorrow.

- Okay. - Whew.

Time for a rest.

- Whee-hee-hee!!!

Mummy, Daddy!

Look at all the work me and George did.

- Wow. Yes, you have been busy, haven't you?

- Oh... It was hard work!

I'm going to have a lie-down. Ping!

[narrator]: Peppa loves her office. - Ping!

[narrator]: Everybody loves Peppa's office. - Ping!

[Peppa]: What babies do!

[narrator]: Peppa and George are going to their cousins' house today.

- I like playing with my big cousin Chloe. [snorting]

- Remember, baby Alexander will be there, too.

- So you think you could play with him, Peppa?

- Yes. [snorting] I know all about babies,

because my dolly is a baby!

When you squeeze her, she cries. [squeaking]

Tip her up, and she laughs.

and she sleeps. [snoring]

Remember that baby Alexander is not a dolly, Peppa.

I know all about babies, because George is a baby, too!

- No! [narrator]: George is not a baby.

[narrator]: Pepper and George have arrived at cousin Chloe's house.

- Hello, Peppa and George.

- Hello, Chloe! [snorting]

- Hello, everyone! - Hello. - Goo-goo.

Ga-ga-ga-ga-ga.

- Aw. Hello, baby. Would you like to play today? [baby giggling]

- I think he would like that very much, Peppa.

- Goo-goo. Ga-ga.

- He can't play any games yet, but he likes baby toys.

- This is his favourite toy, because it squeaks.

[squeaking] - Ooh!

- And it has a little bell inside. [jingling]

[giggling] [snorting]

[giggling] - What else does baby Alexander like?

- He likes rocking in his rocker.

[giggling]

- He likes peek-a-boo.

- Peek-a-boo! [baby giggling]

[narrator]: George is very good at playing peek-a-boo.

- He also likes putting things in his mouth.

[gurgling and giggling]

- Oh! He's eating my dolly!

- Not really, Peppa. He's just teething.

- Babies chew on things to help their teeth grow.

- Alexander, one day, you will have teeth like me.

Eeee!

It won't be long, because George has teeth. See?

- Eeee! - And he's a baby. - No!

- Babies can't stand up and run around like George.

[giggling and snorting]

- Alexander has only just started to crawl. - Yes!

He started crawling last week.

That was exciting, wasn't it?

- It's not that exciting.

- Show your big cousins how you crawl, Alexander.

- He's not going very far. [snorting]

- That's because he's still learning how to do it. [giggling and snorting]

- I think he's filling his nappy.

because he has no teeth!

- Soon you will know everything there is to know about babies, Peppa.

- Yes. It is easy, because they don't do very much. [snorting]

[squeaking and rattling] Or play peek-a-boo.

Oh. Why is he crying?!

- Oh, he's just tired, Peppa.

- We all get a bit grumpy when we're tired.

[baby wailing] - A bit of fresh air will sort him out.

[narrator]: Baby Alexander has fallen asleep. [snoring]

- Why is he sleeping now? It's the daytime!

- Babies sleep at all times of the day and night.

- And when he wakes up, he'll be hungry again.

- And he will eat again and then sleep and cry.

[laughing] - Babies are funny.

- They can't do much more than that.

- And that's because they are just learning. [snorting]

- Yes. And today, you learned all about babies.

- Yes, I did! [snorting]

[Peppa]: Lenses! [laughter]

[narrator]: It is playtime. Peppa is playing with her friends.

[narrator]: Oh, dear. Pedro and Penny have fallen over.

- Are you alright, Penny?

- Yes. Thank you, Peppa.

- I'm alright too.

But my glasses have come off.

[narrator]: Pedro cannot see very well without his glasses.

[snorting] - Here they are.

- Ah! I think my glasses are broken!

- Ah! I think my glasses are broken too.

- Or perhaps you have picked up the wrong glasses.

- Now I can see again.

- Yes! That's better. [giggling]

[narrator]: Pedro and Penny were wearing each other's glasses!

- Madame Gazelle, why can't I see with Penny's glasses?

- Because, Pedro, your glasses are different.

- Hmm. They look the same to me.

- They might look the same, Danny,

but they have different lenses.

- What are lenses? - h*-h*!

Come inside and I will show you.

Lenses change the way we see the world.

Some lenses make things look bigger,

like this magnifying glass.

[kids]: Ooh! - Has anyone seen a magnifying glass before?

- Yes! My grandpa looks at his stamps with it!

It helps him see all the little things.

- I'm sure it does.

Lenses are very useful things.

They can even help us see...

...the impossible.

[kids]: Ooh! - What's that?

- That is a microscope.

It shows us things that are so small,

we could not see them without it.

What do you see on this piece of glass, Freddy?

- Nothing. - Aha!

Now look through the microscope and tell me what you see.

- Wow! I see big rocks and stuff.

- What you are seeing there are tiny bits of dust.

- Wow! - Madame Gazelle,

my mummy uses a microscope in her job.

It helps her see the teensiest-weensiest things.

- Of course!

And that is all thanks to its lenses.

Now, can anyone tell me another useful thing that uses lenses?

- A bicycle! - No.

- A hammer! [giggling] - No.

- An elastic band. - No.

They do not have lenses.

Does anyone know what this is called?

- It's a telescope. [barking]

It makes faraway things look bigger!

- Yes! Have a go, Mandy.

Look at me through the little end.

- Ah! [giggling] - Can you see me, Mandy?

- Yes! You are very, very big. [giggling]

[narrator]: If you look through a telescope, things look bigger.

- Okay, now look at me through the big end.

- Ah! [giggling] Now you are teeny-tiny.

[narrator]: If you look through the big end of a telescope, things look smaller.

- My daddy uses a telescope when he's sailing!

It helps him see things a long way away.

Uh, I think he looks through the small end.

- Yes, I think so too.

- Madame Gazelle, what about our glasses?

- Those lenses are made to help you see better.

- But why can't Penny's glasses help me see better?

- Because everybody's eyes are different.

The lenses in your glasses are just for you,

so don't swap them with your friends. [bell ringing]

[narrator]: It is home time.

[snorting and barking] [parents]: Hello!

[narrator]: The parents have come to collect the children.

- Today we have been learning all about lenses.

- Wow! That's clever stuff.

- Yes! [snorting] They make things look bigger!

- Or smaller. - So you can see the impossible invisible.

- And everything at sea! [barking]

- The lenses in our glasses are very good today.

- They are helping us see the world just right! [giggling]
