(Peppa): Christmas Cards! (children laughing)

(narrator): It is nearly Christmas.

Peppa and her friends are at playgroup.

- So, children, tell me what happens at Christmas.

- We get snow. - If we are lucky.

- And Christmas trees!

- And Father Christmas goes around the world,

giving presents to the children!

- Yes. It is also the time of year we send our Christmas cards,

with love and thanks.

- Is it a big card if it is a lot of love and thanks?

- Oh, I suppose so.

- Do we send a Christmas card with love and thanks to Father Christmas?

- Ah! No, we have never sent Father Christmas a card!

All those years delivering presents with no love or thanks?

We must make a card for Father Christmas!

- That's going to be a very big card.

- Can we use glitter? - No!

There is no glitter.

It's gone. It's all gone. Ha-ha-ha.

(kids): Aw!

- But how do we make a very big card, Madame Gazelle?

- Oh, I don't... really know.

- My granny makes things! - Oh, good idea, Suzy.

(beep) Hello. Granny Sheep? - Hello!

- We need to make a card for Father Christmas! It's an emergency!

- Oh! (knocking)

- Oh! - Hello, children!

(kids): Hello, Granny Sheep.

- Wow. That was quick.

And that is a very big card!

- It needs to be big for all the years we've missed.

I brought everything you need to make pictures, children.

(laughter)

- I'm drawing Father Christmas on his sleigh!

- Wonderful!

- I drew him at home, in the North Pole.

- Oh!

- I've painted a Christmas tree with presents!

- Bellissimo!

- And what would you like to say to Father Christmas?

- Dear Father Christmas...

- Thank you... - For the presents!

- Lots of love and thanks.

- Merry Christmas!

- Wonderful.

- Hmm. It's missing something.

Aha! Glitter!

(kids): Hooray! - No, no, no!!!

- Don't worry. This is biodegradable glitter!

(narrator): Biodegradable glitter is better for the planet,

and just as much fun!

- It's a work of art Father Christmas will cherish!

- Can we put some presents inside?

- What a kind thought, Peppa.

- A nice warm scarf.

- Carrots for the reindeer!

- Cookies!

- And milk! (laughing)

- Wunderbar!

- Now all we have to do is write the address -

"Father Christmas, North Pole" - and pop it in the post.

(kids): Hooray!

(fanfare) (narrator): Here is Mr. Zebra, the postman.

- Hello, Mr. Zebra.

We would please like to send this Christmas card.

- That's too big to go as a card!

That's a parcel!

Where is it going?

- To Father Christmas,

at the North Pole!

(groaning)

- Ah!

(narrator): Mr. Zebra is going to take Father Christmas his card.

Through wild forest,

across the ocean,

through snow and ice.

Here is Father Christmas,

at the North Pole.

(knocking) - Ah!!

- S-s-special d-d-delivery...

f-f-for Father Christmas.

- What a surprise!

(narrator): It is another day at Peppa's playgroup.

(knocking)

- Special delivery from the North Pole!

- Oh! Children, it is a card from Father Christmas!

(kids): Ooh!

- What does it say?! - It says...

(Father Christmas): Thank you for my Christmas card,

and for all your kind gifts and drawings.

Merry Christmas, everybody!

- I'm glad we sent Father Christmas a Christmas card!

(narrator): Everyone loves a Christmas card,

whether it is a little card or very big.

(narrator): It is the night before Christmas at Peppa's house.

Peppa and George are asleep.

Mummy and Daddy are asleep.

Granny and Grandpa are here too. And they're asleep.

Who is that? (thump!)

- h*-h*-h*! (narrator): It is Father Christmas.

- My last delivery.

Oh, why do they have to make chimneys so small?

Oof! Oof!

(grunting)

(narrator whispering): Father Christmas is putting presents

around the Christmas tree.

It is very early in the morning.

- Come on, George! (George snorting) (both giggling)

(George laughing) Mummy, Daddy, wake up!

It's Christmas!

- Kissmas! (exclamations) - What? Already?

(giggling) - Granny! Grandpa!

- Ah!!! What?! - It's Christmas day!

- Oh. (laughing)

- Oh, I suppose it's just about daytime.

(narrator): Peppa and George are excited it's Christmas.

Everybody is excited it's Christmas!

- Look!

Father Christmas has brought presents!

(rattling) (snorting)

(narrator): George has a toy boat. - Boat! Boat!

(rattling) Peppa has a rocket.

- Zoom! Zoom! (giggling)

Who's that big present for?

- It says "Grandpa Pig." - Open it, Grandpa!

- h*-h*-h*-h*!

Ooh! That's just what I wanted.

- It's a drone! - I don't really like the word "drone."

I prefer to call it a quadcopter.

- What does it do, Grandpa?

(snorting) - Watch this.

(narrator): The drone can fly! (all): Ooh!

- And I can see what it is seeing on the controller.

(snorting) - Ooh! (laughter)

- Let's see what it can do. (all): Wow!

- It's like a busy bumblebee! - Buzz, buzz!

(Peppa laughing)

- And how long does the battery last?

- I don't know. But when the battery runs low, it flies home all by itself.

- That's clever. (snorting) - At the moment,

it thinks home is the North Pole.

- Because that's where Father Christmas lives.

- Exactly.

- Perhaps you should change the home setting before you play with it, Grandpa.

- Oh, there's plenty of time for that, Granny Pig.

(narrator): Here is Mrs. Duck.

(quacking) - Hello, Mrs. Duck. (snorting)

Hello. It's me, Peppa.

(snorting) (quacking)

(quacking) (laughter)

(beeping) What's that noise?

- It means the battery's running low.

- Here it comes!

- Yes, all the way home. (all): Hooray!

- And home is, uh, the North Pole.

- Ah. Yes. (snorting)

Perhaps I should've changed that.

(narrator): The drone is flying all the way to the North Pole.

- Oh. What are you doing back here?

(narrator): Peppa and her family are having Christmas lunch.

(horn blowing)

- Don't be sad about losing your present, Grandpa.

- Well, it was fun while it lasted. (doorbell ringing)

- h*-h*-h*!

- Father Christmas! - At our front door!

- Yes. I decided not to use the chimney this time.

I had this large present to deliver again. (groaning)

- My quadcopter!

(narrator): Grandpa Pig loves his drone.

Everyone loves drones! (laughter)

- Merry Christmas, everybody!

(narrator): Peppa and her family are going to visit Kylie Kangaroo in Australia.

(snorting) - I can't wait to see Kylie.

- Yes, it's going to be such a brilliant Christmas, staying with Kylie's family.

- You did tell them we were coming, didn't you, Daddy Pig?

- No. I thought you did.

- Oh. Well, it'll be a nice surprise for them.

(narrator): It is Christmas morning.

Peppa and her family have arrived at Kylie's house.

- Hello, Mr. Kangaroo. - Oh, my goodness.

You're all... here... again.

(snorting) - We've come to spend Christmas with you!

- Um... what an amazing surprise!

(narrator): Here are Mrs. Kangaroo, Joey and Kylie.

- Oh! Peppa! - Happy Christmas, Kylie! - Happy Christmas!

(narrator): Peppa and Kylie are such good friends.

- Well, you've arrived at just the right time. We're off to the beach.

- The beach? - On Christmas day?

- Yes. It's always hot here at Christmastime. (kids giggling)

- Is everybody ready? (all): Yes!

- Then let's go.

(kids laughing)

(all): Hooray! (laughter)

- Oh, look. Mr. Wallaby is here.

- Hello, Mr. Wallaby. (snorting)

- Well, blow me down! If it isn't our friends from far away.

- Happy Christmas! - Happy Christmas, Peppa!

- What are you doing?

- I'm getting the barbie fired up and ready to cook Christmas lunch!

(all): Ooh! - We're gonna corn on the cob. (all): Hooray!

(narrator): Everyone likes corn on the cob.

- Christmas on the beach is great!

The only thing that would make it better would be snow.

- Ha! But this Australia, mate. We never have snow at Christmas.

- Peppa, does it snow at your Christmases? - Yes.

It always snows. (laughter)

- I've never seen real snow. What is it like?

- Hmm. Snow is...

cold, and snow is fluffy!

And when you walk in snow,

it is crunchy.

- Snow sounds so nice. What else can you do with it?

- Make a snowman!

We use sticks for the arms,

stones for the eyes and mouth,

and a carrot for the nose (giggling)

(laughing) - We do the same on the beach, but with sand instead of snow.

- What?! - We use sand to make the body and head.

- Driftwood for the arms.

- Beach pebbles for the eyes and mouth. (laughing)

- And a corncob for the nose.

(Peppa): Wow! - What could be more Christmassy than that?

- h*-h*-h*!

(surfing music)

(all): Ah! Father Christmas!

- Merry Christmas. (all): Merry Christmas!

- I've brought presents! (kids): Thank you.

(giggling) (narrator): Peppa has a spade.

(giggling) George has a bucket.

(Peppa laughing) - We can make a sandcastle on Christmas day!

- Ta-dah! (laughter)

(narrator): Joey has a beach ball. - Boing! Boing!

(narrator): And Kylie has... - Ooh!

It's... it's a...

What is it?

(whispering): It's a snow globe, Kylie.

- Yeah, you shake it to make it snow.

- Oh, it's snowing!

(narrator): The snow globe is full of gently falling snow.

- Ah, straight, that's a wonderful sight.

- Snow! I've got my own snow!

- And that was my last delivery of this year.

Now I can take my boots off and relax.

Paddling in the sea on Christmas day.

- Yes. (snorting) What could be better?

- I like paddling. (giggling)

- I reckon the corncobs are ready! Tuck in, everyone.

- Mm-mm! - Delicious.

- Ah, Christmas at the beach is so good!

(narrator): Kylie Kangaroo loves Christmas at the beach. (laughter)

Everyone loves Christmas at the beach! (surfing music)

(Peppa): Igloo! (laughter)

(narrator): It is a cold morning.

Peppa and George have come outside to play in the snow!

- Look, George. Lots of snow!

(George laughing)

- Brrr! (snorting) - It is a bit cold

- Ooh. (rattling)

Cold enough to freeze the water in this bucket.

(Peppa): Mummy, Daddy, come see!

(laughter) Me and George made a snowman!

Here are the eyes...

- Ooh! (giggling)

- There is the mouth.

- And here is the nose.

(narrator): Mummy Pig has a carrot for the snowman's nose.

- Hello, Mr. Snowman. How are you today?

(Peppa): He looks a bit cold.

Do you want a house to keep you warm, Mr. Snowman?

He does want a house, thank you very much.

- Okay, let's build a house.

(kids): Hooray! - As it happens,

I know a lot about building houses. (snorting)

But to build a house, we need bricks, and we haven't got any bricks.

- Oh. How are we going to make a house without any bricks?

- With buckets and spades. (laughter)

- First we fill the buckets with snow.

- Turn the buckets upside down.

(Mummy Pig): Give them a little tap. - And... snow bricks!

(kids giggling) - You put the first brick down here.

Now we can make an igloo!

- We have to make a house!

- An igloo is a house, Peppa.

(Daddy Pig): It's a little round house made of snow

that you find in cold places, like the North Pole. (Peppa): Oh!

(narrator): Peppa, George and Mummy Pig are making an igloo out of snow bricks!

- Keep the bricks coming.

- The weather forecast said there might be a snowstorm later.

- h*-h*! We can finish the igloo before that happens.

That's it!

- I'm getting tired!

(narrator): Making an igloo is hard work.

- Nearly finished.

There. Oh, where is Daddy Pig? (Daddy Pig chuckling)

- I'm in here.

(narrator): Daddy Pig is inside the igloo.

- How do we get in?

- Uh, where is the door?

- There is no door.

I haven't made one yet.

- Ah! Wriggly worms!

- That's Daddy Pig's fingers.

(narrator): Daddy Pig is making a door for the igloo.

(giggling) (snorting)

- Come inside. It's lovely!

(kids): Ooh!

- It is a magic snow house!

- Much warmer than outside.

- It is a bit dark, though. - Leave that to me.

(narrator): Where is Daddy Pig going?

Daddy Pig is getting ice from the bucket.

(giggling) - It's Daddy's wriggly finger worms!

Hello, Daddy!

(Daddy Pig giggling) - Hello, Peppa.

- Well, that does make it lighter. But now it's a bit cold inside.

- I haven't finished yet.

(narrator): Daddy Pig has made a window for the igloo!

- Clever Daddy!

(narrator): It has started to snow.

- Brrr! If you don't mind, Mr. Snowman,

I'm going to use your igloo to shelter from the cold.

That's better. It's very cold out there.

- The forecast did say there would be a snowstorm.

- Oh! But Mr. Snowman is outside!

- I think he likes being out in a snowstorm. Look!

(narrator): Mr. Snowman is smiling.

- What was that? - There's something else out there.

- Is it a wild animal? (Pigs screaming)

(Peppa): No, it's Penny! - Hello, Peppa! Grrr!

- Penny! What are you doing?

- We're walking in the snowstorm.

- We love being out in snowstorms.

- Mr. Snowman likes that, too!

- Did you make this igloo? - Yes, we did!

- It's very nice.

I love anything made of snow!

- Me, too! But I really love igloos.

(laughter) (narrator): Peppa loves igloos.

Everyone loves igloos! (laughter and snorting)

(narrator): It is a lovely sunny day.

Peppa and her family are going on holiday.

- Where are we going on holiday?

- We've booked a little house near the beach.

- Brilliant!

- Yes! (snort)

I'm really looking forward to seeing it.

I think we are here!

- It's a fairytale house!

- Yes! It's very pretty!

- Like where Goldilocks and the three bears lived!

- And we're going to be staying here for our holiday!

(all): Hooray!

- This house was made a long time ago.

(gasps) - Look at the tiny door!

- Yes, uh...

A long time ago, everyone was smaller.

- And it is teeny tiny inside too!

- Yes, it's really very small in here.

- That's fine! (snorts)

Because we will be outside most of the time,

enjoying the sunshine!

- Let's walk down to the beach now!

- Yes! - There are so many fun things

to do when it's sunny!

(shouting)

(narrator): It has started to rain.

- Back inside the house, everyone!

- I'm sure the rain will stop soon.

- Until then,

we'll just find something fun to do indoors.

- We can watch television!

- Um, I don't think there is a television, Peppa.

- What?! No television?!

Okay then, let's play on the computer!

- There is no computer either.

- This is a very old house.

- So, what can we do?! - Look!

There's a visitor's book.

People who've been on holiday in this house

have written what they did here.

- And they drew pictures!

(George): Ooh!

- "It was lovely and sunny.

Then it rained, and rained, and rained."

- Oh. - Someone else has written,

"Rain, rain, rain."

- Ah. - Mummy?

Can I draw a picture in the book?

- Of course.

- Here is the little house...

With Mummy, Daddy, Peppa and George.

And here is the rain!

(laughs) - Very good, Peppa!

- You see, you can have fun

even when it's raining outside!

- Yes! (snorts)

I love this little house.

- And hopefully the rain will stop soon.

(narrator): It is raining, and raining, and raining.

- Looks like we're going to have to stay indoors a bit longer.

- I know! Let's play a game!

- Yes! - Look!

There's an old game here.

- The only problem is we don't know how to play.

- I'm good at games!

- Okay, Peppa, you're in charge.

- First, pick what colour you want to be.

Daddy is green. I'm red.

(snorts) George is blue!

(George snorts) And Mummy is orange!

- Thank you, Peppa. - Who starts?

- Normally, the youngest player starts.

- That's George! (snorts)

(giggles) Very good, George!

Now it's my turn.

(thudding) Da-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da!

Ooh! I've landed on the magic square!

(snorts) - What does that mean, Peppa?

- That means... I get to go again!

(thudding) Da-dee-da-dee-da!

(giggles) Now, it's Daddy's turn.

(thudding) - Da-dee-da-dee-da-dee-da!

- Daddy! You can't just go anywhere!

We're playing a proper game! (snorts)

- Ahh, of course.

Da, da... (snorts)

I've landed on a star!

That must be good!

- No. That means you go to prison.

Now it's Mummy's go!

- Oh, where do I go?

- You go to prison with Daddy!

So, George and me are the winners!

(children): Hooray!

(giggling)

- Oh, look! The rain has stopped!

- And the sun is shining!

- And all that rain has made...

- Muddy puddles!

- This is brilliant!

- What a great holiday!
