We're getting ready for Christmas
at the Melon Patch.

[all] Yay!

We've got our decorations up.

We've got our presents.

Even Jellybean and the flowers
are wearing their Christmas outfits.

-[speaks gibberish]
-Ta-da!

Christmas is a holiday that we celebrate

by getting together
with family and friends,

singing songs, eating yummy foods,

-and sometimes…
-[♪ surprise twinkly cue]

…giving presents to show we care.

-[in gibberish] Yeah.
-Aw.

That's so sweet, Jellybean.

-[chuckling]
-Yeah!

Oh! One of my favorite
Christmas traditions

is singing songs
with the people that we love.

-Yeah! [cheering]

Jellybean, it's not time
to open presents yet!

Oh, I know. Waiting is hard,

especially when you're so excited.

-Yeah!

How about, while we wait,

we see how some of our friends
and families celebrate Christmas.

-Yeah!
-Yeah! [giggles]

Let's take a look
through the Look-A-Long window.

[Ms. Appleberry] For Christmas,
families like to decorate together.

That family is decorating
their Christmas tree together.

And this family likes
to decorate cookies for Christmas.

And during Christmastime,

you can use special gingerbread cookies
to build a house like this.

Friends and family
can sing Christmas songs together too,

or even play together in the snow.

Lots of families like to give each other
presents for the holidays.

And some like to help their neighbors too.

And many families
eat a special meal together.

But the most important part of Christmas

is spending time with the people you love.

That's why I'm so glad I get to spend
some of my holiday with you.

Are you ready for a Make-A-Long with me?

We're gonna make something
super special for Christmas today.

Let's pick a material,
that's where we'll start,

because anything can make great art.

Craft paper!

Craft paper is a long paper…

that you can tear…

Oh, yeah. That was good. Yeah!

…and draw on.

[giggles]

Oh, I'm gonna draw a little bit there.

Another little row like that. Uh-huh.

A Christmas tree.

[gasps] Ziggity-zow! I see it now.

We can use this craft paper
like wrapping paper.

We can wrap a gift for all of our friends.

Come on.
Let's decorate the wrapping paper.

Ooh, I think I'll use red.

[♪ joyful music playing]

Oh, I hope they love these.

One, two, three!

[giggles]

This one is for Ms. Appleberry.

See the cute apples I drew?

Oh, and, uh,

this one is for Mr. Acorn.

He loves to explore with his binoculars.

And this one is for Ms. Twist.

I use pink to draw the shoes.

That's her favorite color.

Ooh. Uh-huh.

[gasps]

A paintbrush.

This must be for me. [gasps]

Do you want to help me rip it open
and see what's inside?

Yeah! [gasps]

Wrapping paper!

I just used the last of my wrapping paper,
so I need some more.

Did you know that on Christmas,

we can wear special clothes,
or clothes that look Christmas-y?

Uh-oh. I need to find my Christmas outfit!

-Hmm. Will you help me?
-[♪ musical question sting]

Let's see what we have to wear, shall we?

Hmm… Ah!

Sometimes, a special hat is a good choice.

-[snaps fingers]
-[sparkly reveal cue]

Like this one. [chuckles]

Does this hat look Christmas-y?

Maybe not.

This is a construction helmet.

It's meant to keep your head safe.

It's very fun,
but maybe not for Christmas.

What else?

Ooh! This is very fancy.

Ooh. What do you think?

Hmm… I love it,

but it's not really Christmas-y, is it?

Hmm. [gasps]

Ooh! [gasps]

This is really fun.

-[snaps fingers]

[imitating pirate] Merry Christmas. Argh!

[laughs]

What do you think of this hat?
Is it Christmas-y?

[laughs]

No. Dressing up as a pirate is very fun,

but not quite right for Christmas.

Hmm. [gasps]

Ooh. [gasps]

Red and green are very Christmas-y colors.

I think this might work.

But it's inside out.

Oh, hey! There's a Christmas tree,

and it's already decorated.

And little snowflakes.

Now, this is a Christmas outfit.

-[bells ringing]

Now I'm ready for Christmas!

That means there's something

These are Christmas ornaments
to decorate our Christmas tree.

Should we invite the other teachers
for a decorating party?

Great! I'll just jingle these bells
to call the other teachers.

[teachers laugh]

Wow, that was fast.

Yes, because we love a decorating party.

Yeah. I brought presents
and this paper chain for the tree.

I brought Christmas lights

so that our tree
will twinkle like the stars.

And I brought the Christmas party music.

Very Christmas-y!

Shall we decorate our Christmas tree now?

[teachers] Yeah.

I'll hang the lights all over the tree.

Round and round I go!

-Yay!

Ooh! Let's put the Santa hat up first.

[Mr. Doodad] Oh, wow!

And let's put the little drum
right next to it.

[gasps] And look,
a green, red and white-striped candy cane.

What beautiful colors.

Oh, let's put it right… here.

[Ms. Appleberry gasps]

It's looking so lovely,

but we have
so many more ornaments to hang.

I think we need to speed this up a bit.

What a beautiful tree.

But it's missing one more thing,
don't you think, Mr. Acorn?

-Oh, yeah.

I hung the lights,
but we still need to turn them on.

That is a very Christmas-y tree!

It's time for exploring with me and you.

because… it snowed! [chuckles]

Should we build a snowman?

Yeah!

First, we gotta turn this into a big…

[drumroll playing]

…snowball.

Now we need another
slightly smaller snowball.

Now we need to put this one
on top of our big snowball.

Now we need to make our snowman's head.

First, we'll take some snow
and squeeze it really tight.

And now, it's a little snowball.

Oh, look.
It's like a little baby snowball.

Hmm.

Our snowman's head looks a little small.

Should we make it bigger?

Yeah!

You know what we're gonna need?

More snow!

[sighs]

Ta-da!

Now we just need sticks and rocks.

Luckily, I have some
that I've been saving.

The perfect arm sticks.

These rocks are perfect for his face.

[drumroll plays]

-Unbelievable. It's the best snowman ever!

Or should I say… snow explorer.

What kind of snow friend would you make?

It's a candy-cane cookie!

as the candy cane cookie.

Okay, let's decorate our next cookie.

[Ms. Appleberry] Oh, a snowflake cookie.

-There it is.

The blue icing
matches the snowflake cookie.

Brr! That looks chilly! [chuckles]

-But also very yummy.

Okay, there's only one more cookie
and one more icing.

-Can you tell me what shape that is?

That's right! It's a Christmas tree.

[chuckles]

And the icing has lots of colorful lights.

Look at our cookies! They look delicious.

Oh, that game made me hungry
for a special treat!

We can put carrots out for the reindeer.

put them on your head like antlers,

and gallop. Ready?

[gasps] It's snowing!

Let's twirl like a snowflake.

Big twirls! Twirl this way.

And twirl that way.

Now really fast!

Okay, one last move so that we get really,
really tired before bedtime.

Let's do jumping jingle bells.

Ready? Jump!

-Jump, jump, jump.
-[bells ringing]

Jump, jump, jump.

Are you jumping?

Whoo! Done.

Now I'm tired.

I got all my wiggles out,
and now it's time to go to bed.

[yawns]
