04x36 - Sick Daze

Post by bunniefuu »

male narrator: A bright
good-morning sun

shines on our heroes
and their Pokémon friends,

who have spent a peaceful night
camped beside a sparkling lake.

They're getting ready
for a hearty breakfast

and another day of adventure.

- Psy?

- Okay, I'm ready for breakfast.

- Pika.
- Chiko.

- Yeah, so am I.

- [squeaking]

- Hey, Brock, that oatmeal
should be done by now,

shouldn't it?

- Oatmeal?
Not again.

I'm getting sick of oatmeal.

- Brock, is something wrong?

- Brock?

[gasps]

- Pikachu!

- I'm sorry, Brock.

The oatmeal
really isn't that bad.

- Brock's sick.
His forehead's burning up.

- Brock, wake up!
- Pikachu!

- [singing]
Pokémon, Pokémon, Pokémon

- Let's do it.

I wanna be the very best

Like no one ever was

Ever was, ever was

To catch them is my real test

To train them is my cause

My whole life has led to this

Time to test my skills

I know I just can't miss

Gonna show the world

Born to be a winner

- Johto

- Born to be a champion

Born to be a winner

Born to be the very best

- Pokémon
- Johto

- Born to be a winner

Pokémon

- [moaning]

- Maybe it's a bad cold
or the flu.

- Or maybe he just collapsed
from exhaustion.

I hear it happens
to movie stars all the time.

- Pika.
- Chicki!

- He looks comfortable,
doesn't he?

He's been working hard
for a long time.

Let's let him sleep all day.
- Okay.

He'll probably feel
a whole lot better

after a good sleep.

- Pika?
- You scared us.

We thought you were sound asleep
this whole time.

- Yeah.

Now, why don't you lie back down
and doze off?

- It's not that easy,

especially when you've got
two people talking all the time.

[Ash and Misty laugh nervously]

- [grunts]
- Pika?

- What are you doing?

- Well, I can't just lie around
in bed all day.

I've got too much work to do.

I have to get breakfast
and lunch and...

do the laundry.

- Easy, Brock.
You're still sick.

- Misty's right.
You're not doing anything.

- Pika.

- But I can't--

- Just lie down, Brock.

You need to take care
of yourself today

and get some rest.

- Maybe you're right.

Maybe I could use a little bit
of sleep time today.

If you need help,
I have instructions

about how to do the chores
in my notebook.

- Don't worry about us, okay?

- You just concentrate
on getting better.

We'll take care
of everything else.

- Yeah, Misty and I can handle
things on our own just fine.

- Pika-Pika!

- [squeaking]

- We're gonna have to cook
for ourselves

and feed all the Pokémon.

- Haul water and wash clothes
and get firewood too?

- I never realized how much
we depend on Brock for things.

- Well, we're gonna have to do
the stuff Brock does for today.

- Sounds good.
- Pika!

- [trills]

- [roars]
- Geodude.

- Hey, what's up with Geodude
and Onyx?

- Isn't today the day

Brock usually polishes
his Rock-type Pokémon?

- Oh, yeah, that's right.

- [roars]
- Geodude.

- Guys, I know we can't
take Brock's place,

but we're gonna polish you
today,

and we're gonna polish you

like you never been polished
before.

- Hey, Ash, this is a lot harder
than it looks, isn't it?

- I don't know
how Brock does it.

There's got to be
some kind of secret to it.

- [chatters]

- Good thinking.

Maybe Brock has instructions
in his notebook.

Let's see.

"Here's my easy technique

for cleaning Rock and Ground
Pokémon."

- Hey, I know.

Totodile, come over here
a second.

- "Take sand,
and sprinkle a small amount

in the bristles
of a scrubbing brush."

- Okay, Totodile,
use your water g*n.

- Huh?

Ash, what do you think
you're doing?

Rock Pokémon hate water.

- Oh, yeah, I forgot.

Totodile, you can stop now.

- Please, Brock.

Please get well real soon.

all: Bella, Bella, Bella.

Bella, Bella.

- Beautiful.

What could be nicer
than a field of flowers?

[whooshing noise]
Huh?

[women giggling]

Now I know.

This is a million times nicer
than just a field of flowers.

Ah!
Here I come, ladies!

Huh?

It's a meteorite
heading right this way!

[yelling]

[yells]

- Pineco.

- It was just a dream.

And you guys were standing watch
over me the whole time.

- Pineco.
- [clicks]

- I really appreciate it.
You're true-blue friends.

- You're doing it all wrong,
Ash!

- I'm only trying to...

- Sounds like I better
get out there and help them.

Golbat, what are you doing?

- Pineco!
Pineco!

Pineco!
- I get it.

You're trying to get me
to stay here and sleep,

aren't you?

- Pineco!
- [clicks]

- Okay, I will.

And thanks for caring so much
about my health, guys.

I appreciate it very much.

- [clicking]
- Pineco, Pineco.

- We're gonna go
and look for some fruit

so we can have it at lunchtime.

- That's a good idea.

We'll stay here
and do the washing

and keep an eye on Brock.

- That's great.

Come on, guys.
Let's go.

This is weird.

None of these apple trees
have any apples.

- Pika.

- Aha!

Apple picking time.

- In just a few minutes,

we'll have enough fruit
to last us for months.

- Yeah,
and whatever we can't eat,

we can cook and pickle
and bottle and dehydrate

and make into jams and jellies
and maybe even marmalades.

And then we'll sell 'em.

- We'll make enough to retire.

- I like the sound of that,
Jessie.

- Hey.

What are you doing?

both: Oh, no, it's a twerp!

- You heard me.
What are you three doing here?

- Mind your own business.

We're not here making trouble.

- We're just picking fruit,
so scram on the double.

Now leave us alone
before we pick on you.

- Could you spare a few apples
for my friend Brock?

- Wobbuffet!

- Get back in your Pokéball,
you blathering blog.

- Behave yourself, you!

- Um, to protect the world
from devastation.

- To unite all peoples
within our nation.

- To denounce the evils
of truth and love.

- To extend our reach
to the stars above.

- Jessie.
- James.

- Team Rocket.

Blast off at the speed of light.

- Surrender now, or prepare
to fight, fight, fight, fight.

- Wobbu--

- Meowth.
That's right.

- How about a demonstration?

Show our little friends

how the Power Picker works,
James.

- Sure.

- Pika!
- Pikachu!

- Pika.

- Hello, there.

both: We got the Pikachu!

- Go, Bulbasaur.
Go, Chikorita.

We can't let them
take Pikachu away.

- Bulba.
- Chicko.

- We're not giving Pikachu up
without a battle.

Go, Arbok.

- Come on, Victreebel.
We can't let them beat us.

- [wails]

- I said "beat us,"
not "eat us"!

- Go, Arbok.
Use your Poison Sting attack.

- Totodile, use your Water g*n.

- Totodile!

- Now, Cyndaquil,
use your Flamethrower.

- [screaming]

- Pika.

- Pikachu, are you okay?
- Pika.

- Then let Team Rocket have
a big Thunderbolt attack.

- Pikachuuu!

Jessie and James: Team Rocket's
blasting off again!

- Wobbu!

- There they go.

- Pikachu!

- Bulba.
Bulbasaur-Saur.

- What's the matter,
Bulbasaur?

- Pika-Pika.

- Whoa!
Look at all that fruit.

Wait'll Misty and Brock
see this.

[both chattering]

- Beautiful.

What could be nicer
than a beautiful sky?

women: Brock.
- Huh?

[all giggling]

Now I know.

This is a million times nicer
than just a beautiful sky.

women: Brock.
Come closer, Brock.

- Ah!
Here I come, ladies!

Ah!
I'm falling!

Help, girls!
Somebody please save me!

Save me!
- Okay.

But what are we saving you from?

- Ash, Misty, where am I?

Where did all the girls go?

- I'm the only girl here, Brock.

Are you sure you're all right?

- Uh...

Oh, yeah, I'm just fine.

- Here, Brock.
Nice, juicy apples for ya.

- Wow, this looks delicious.

- [clicks]

- Go easy, Brock.

Nobody's gonna take that apple
away from you.

- [trills]

- Guess I'm kind of hungry.

- Hey, Brock, if you got
your appetite back,

you must be getting better.

- That's right,
but just to play it safe,

you might as well take
a nice long afternoon snooze.

- Yeah, and this time,
I'm gonna run a lot faster

and catch those girls.

- Huh?

- What girls
are you talking about?

- Uh, it must be
the fever talking.

- Uh...
- Pika?

- Ka.

- Let's see.

According to Brock's recipe,

I should add one tablespoon
of sugar--

Oh, no!
I think that was salt!

Oh, no.
Now where's the sugar?

Oh, thank you, Togepi.

Ah!

Half the bag went in.

Oh, now it's gonna be
way too sweet.

I guess I just ruined
the whole thing.

- Psyduck-Psy.

- Hey, if I add some salt,
it'll counteract the sugar.

Now I put too much salt in it.

I'll add more sugar.

Oh.
I don't like this recipe much.

All it is
is a lot of salt and sugar.

There's nothing special in it
to intrigue the taste buds.

Ah!

I'll wake it up
with a little squeeze of ketchup

and cool it down
with a little mayonnaise.

Soy sauce, Worcester, miso,
curry.

Garlic paste, wasabi, mustard,
oregano, cinnamon.

Ha!
I love cooking!

- Psy.

- Pika.

- It's my own recipe,

which I call
Misty's Mystery Stew,

and it's got
secret ingredients.

- It looks real good.

- What's the matter?
Aren't you hungry?

- Yeah, that's it.

I guess I ate too many apples
this afternoon.

Maybe I better just
skip dinner tonight.

- Pika-Pika!

- I don't believe you
for one second.

I think you think
I'm a terrible cook.

- No.
Well, not exactly.

- You don't know how wrong
you are, Ash Ketchum.

- Well?
How is it?

What's it taste like?

- Pikachu-Pi.

- It...has a unique flavor.

It's like nothing
I've ever tasted.

- Who's that Pokémon?

- Okay, we're all sleeping
outside tonight.

- That's right.

Brock will get a better rest

if he doesn't have anybody
disturbing him.

- Pika-Pika.
- [chirps]

[Pokémon snoring]

- Now I know why
Brock's so beat.

He works really hard.

- I don't know
how he does it all.

- We should be more grateful
for the things he does.

- You're right about that, Ash.

- Well, night, Misty.

- Good night, Ash.

- They'll be asleep soon.

And when they are,
we'll swipe Pikachu.

- But we'll have to be quiet.

- [giggles]
- Hmm?

Hey, pipe down back there,
will ya?

- Jessie, we're about to capture
the Pikachu.

- Well, you shouldn't do it
on an empty stomach.

- Huh?

- Look what I found
over on that table.

I can't believe

they let all this perfectly good
food go to waste.

Bratty young kids today
have no appreciation for things.

- Maybe, but we surely do.

- Let's dig in, shall we?

- Hey, what's the matter
with you two?

Don't you like it?

- Well, it ain't
that I don't like it, Jessie.

It's that I hate it.

- You know, they have
better-tasting food than this

on airlines in coach.

- No way.
[giggles]

This--mmm--is a perfect blend
of sweet and sour flavors

that tickle, tease,
and tantalize

the trembling taste buds.

This is surely the work

of a bold, creative,
and innovative genius.

- Wobbuffet!
- Huh?

Here, taste.

- Wo!

- Well, it isn't that good.

- Will you drop that slop

and concentrate
on our Pikachu plan?

Jessie and James:
What plan?

- We don't have one yet,

but we got to think of a way
to get Pikachu

without waking up
the other Pokémon.

- Why not wake the others up
and take them somehow too?

- Hey, good idea.

We can give Pikachu
to the boss

and sell the rest to make
some nice spending money.

- You're right.

Then we can buy
a big orchard somewhere

and get back into
the apple business

and make another bundle.

- Wobbuffet.

- Friends, wake up.

[all exclaiming]

Come over here, and let's play.

I just found some food
we can eat too.

Hurry up, but be real quiet.

- Bulba-Bulbasaur-Saur.

- That's right.
Come to your friend Ash.

[both singing] Now we got
a bunch of their Pokémon

- What's all the racket about?

- Huh?

- Prepare for trouble,
sleepyheads.

- Don't make it double.
Just stay in your beds.

- Oh, no.
It's you again.

- Pikachu.
- Quiet!

What are you two
starting the motto for?

You woke 'em up, and we ain't
even got Pikachu yet.

Jessie and James:
Yes, we messed up.

- Wobbu.

- But the assortment we have
is more than satisfactory.

- They got Bulbasaur
and Chikorita.

- Cyndaquil and Totodile too.

- You're probably too tired
to chase us.

- Our plan's working beautiful.

[gong sounds]

- Beautiful.

What could be nicer
than a clear blue sea?

women: Brock.
- Huh?

[women giggling]

- Now I know.

This is a million times nicer

than a clear blue sea
could ever be.

Ah!
Here I come, ladies!

This isn't a beautiful dream.

This is a nightmare!

Gah!

What's wrong, Golbat?
Is something the matter?

Huh?

Hmm.

I bet it's Team Rocket.

- Just a little further.

- Hey, come back here!
- Pika!

Pika!

- I can't believe
they tricked us again.

Are you guys okay?

- I'm fine.
- Pika.

[Team Rocket laughing]

- Tricked by our trap again,
twerps.

- I like that a whole lot.

- Ain't it just great when
we're way up in the air

and them jokes
is way down in the dirt?

- Come on. Let's go, James.
- Roger.

- [roars]

- Poliwhirl.
- Geodude.

- These Pokémon
are weighing us down.

- Then let's start up
the engine.

[all laughing]

Bye-bye.

- Pika.
- Come back here!

Or else you'll regret it!

- We're not gonna let you
get away

with taking our Pokémon.

- Just try to stop us.

- Pikachu, shock them
with your Thunder--

- Wait, if Pikachu uses
a Thunderbolt attack,

it'll shock
all the Pokémon up there.

- That's right.
- Pika.

- Pikachu!

- How's that grab you?

- Aren't shockproof materials
simply wonderful?

- We finally ex*cuted
the perfect plan.

They're the losers,
and we're the winners at last.

- Only one thing
could make this better:

a perfectly ex*cuted getaway.

- Wobbuffet.

- Take care, twerps.

- Come back!
Come back here!

- [clicking]

- Pika!

- Pikachu!
- Pika!

- Look, everybody's okay.

- Thank goodness.

- Better thank Golbat too.

both: Hey, Brock's back.

- That was excellent, Golbat.

- Just you wait.

This isn't over.

Arbok, go!

- Let's go, Weezing.
Get ready to battle.

- Pineco, Golbat, battle them
back with a two-on-two attack.

It's your turn, Onyx.

Rock Throw attack.

- [roars]

- You know what to do.

- Pikachu!

- We're blasting off again!

- Wobbu!

- We did it again, Pikachu.

- Pika-Pika!

- A good battle
makes you feel better.

- Thanks for helping us, Brock.

You saved the day.

- [chirps]

- I wouldn't be here

if it wasn't for Pineco
and Golbat.

- [yawns]

- Morning.

- Good morning.

Hey, what's that?

- Smells delicious.

both: Morning, Brock.
- Good morning, guys.

Does anybody feel like
a little breakfast?

- Ah!

Boy, Brock, this oatmeal's
even tastier than usual.

- I agree.
- Thanks.

It's from an extra special
recipe.

- It seems like you're almost
back to your old self again.

- [chatters]

- I was feeling all knocked out
yesterday,

but today I'm getting back
in the ring.

- I don't know, Brock.

Maybe you should think about
sitting out this round.

- Pika.

- Yeah, Brock.

We don't want you
to get a fever again.

- [trills]

- Okay, I'll take a nap
when we're done eating.

Maybe I'll catch
those dream girls.

- Pika?

narrator: With Brock's recovery
nearly complete,

our friends will soon take
to the road once more

as they head for Olivine City,

where Ash hopes to earn
his next badge

and move
an important step closer

to competing
in the Johto League.

- Ah!
Here I come, ladies!

Ah!

Ah!

Please don't wake up.

- Pineco.
- [clicks]

- Let's do it.
