the Lapras migration route.

Every year, those Lapras
migrate to these same waters

at the exact same time,

but we haven't been able
to figure out

how they can navigate
so accurately.

They're somehow able to know
from a great distance away

when the water temperature
and season

is perfect for them to return.

They then share this information
with other Lapras

but with an astounding speed.

- And that's what you're here

working so hard to find out,
right?

And I believe the key
to solving it

is in Lapras' voice.

- In their voice?

- That sounds like the song
of travel we heard before.

But after years of study,

very little is actually known
about the singing.

However, my studies have found
that Supersonic attacks

can actually pinpoint
their location.

- That's why Lanturn
was with you in the bay.

was helping you

to figure out
where the Lapras were

before they even got here.

- That's right.

I knew I could track them
'cause that school of Lapras

are always singing their songs
of travel as they move.

and kind of romantic too.

I know that the Lapras
have so much to teach me

and the rest of humanity.

That's how everyone will travel,

and we'd make a fortune
from the fares.

living in the Lapras of luxury.

But then at some point,
the egg was stolen

by a group of poachers.

Somehow it fell out of the hands
of the poachers,

fortunately was discovered,

and then brought here
to the lab.

- I'll bet that's when you
decided to call Professor Elm.

- That's right, Brock.

I figured he could preserve
the egg

and make sure
it's in good health.

And did you know
that he's the advisor

of the Johto League
Pokémon Preservation Council?

- Oh, I never even heard
of that council.

- He sure says a lot,
but he never told us that.

- He would have gotten around
to it.

[Lapras wailing]

- [wailing]

- It looks like Lapras

[Lapras wailing]

- It's some kind
of watery whirlwind.

- Meowth, pull up on the stick.

- But we ain't got no stick.

We're blasting off again!

- [wailing]

- Hey, guys, looks like Lapras
might have seen something.

- Pika, Pika.

- I sure hope it's that net.

- I see a blip
on the radar screen,

but there's no telling
what it is yet.

Whatever it is,
we have to follow it.

- [wailing]

[Lapras wailing]

[all gasp]

- The Lapras.

- Somehow they managed
to get out of the net.

- And away from Team Rocket.

- That's so great.

- Pika, Pika!

- Toge, Togepi.

- I guess we're lucky
that Team Rocket

messed everything up as usual.

[Lapras wailing]

- Wait.
Hold on a minute.

It looks like a couple
of the Lapras are missing.

- Pika?

- She's right.

The leader and Lapras' mom
aren't here.

- But where do you think
they could have gone?

- Pika.

I sure hope
they're not somehow

caught up in that cyclone.

knows something.

like what we're looking for
on this radar.

Somehow they're communicating
with each other

to guide their movement.

singing their hearts out.

be able to hear it

over the sound of this current?

We're hearing
those two missing Lapras.

- It's amazing
we can hear them at all.

to distinguish

the faintest of their songs

even with this much
background noise.

They can hear the songs
of their friends from miles away

that our most advanced radars
could never detect.

- Lapras are awesome.

- Well, the radar's showing
they're on a nearby island,

so let's hurry.

[Lapras whimpering]

- Why is it no matter how much
we spend on stuff,

we still manage to get soaked?

- Wobbuffet!

- All of that dough
on the turbo boost

but we had to pinch pennies
with the net.

- Well, I guess that two Lapras

are still better than none,
right?

[Lapras whimpering]
