I just received
from a Tiddlypeep
about a boy and a
girl and a castle
and some mattresses and a,
oh, oh, see what you think.

- [Narrator] There
were once two friends
called Peter and Petunia.
"Hello!
"Hello!"
One day, they got
lost in the woods.
They wandered around for hours
until they came to a
beautiful old castle.
The castle was owned
by a kind old woman.
She gave them some supper
and offered them
shelter for the night.
(cups rattling)
(door squeaks)
The old woman showed the
children to their beds.
Petunia's bed was
made of mattresses,
piled so high that they
almost touched the ceiling!
Peter's bed, however, was one
simple mattress on the floor.
"Sleep well!" said the
old woman, and left.
Petunia tossed and turned.
Her bed was so lumpy
and uncomfortable.
"I can't sleep!" she cried.
"Don't worry!" said Peter.
"I'll swap with you."
(Peter snores)
Peter had no problems
sleeping on the mattresses.
And both children slept
peacefully until morning.
"Did you have a
comfortable night?"
asked the old
woman at breakfast.
"Not at first," replied Petunia.
"That high bed seemed
to have a tiny lump,
"right in the middle."
The old woman's face lit up!
She rushed to the bed
and took out a single pea
from under the bottom mattress.
"You are a princess," she cried.
"For only a real
princess could feel a pea
"under such a high bed.
"I've been waiting
for you to come along.
"This castle is your
home!" she told Petunia.
The princess rushed
back to fetch her family
and they all lived
happily together.
As for Peter, he
came to play with
Princess Petunia
every afternoon.
- Hooby-groovy.
- Aw!

Boy Tiddlypeeps do not
mind sleeping on a pea,
and girl Tiddlypeeps do.
- Right.
