[Music]
Postman Pat and his black and white cat
early in the morning just as day is
Dawning he picks up all the post bags
Postman Pat and his black and white cat
all the birds are singing and the day is
just beginning
[Music]
everybody knows it's bright red
all his friends will smile as he waves
to grieve that maybe
never be sure there'll be knock
ring Parcels to your door
I'm his black and white cats
all the bugs are singing and the day is
just beginning Pat feels he's a really
happy man
[Music]
Jess first cut on the moon
hi Julian
a scene outside
wow
oh do you think we'll be able to get to
Ted Glenn's Workshop okay oh yes it's
Ted's space day today isn't it I'm sure
it'll be fine taking Mrs Taylor said
there's a space expert from the TV
coming to talk to us as well do you
think it would be an astronaut I don't
know I wanted to be an astronaut when I
was a lad but then I discovered the
Postal Service
oh hold on
special delivery service Pat Clifton
speaking Pat it's Ben I've got an urgent
delivery for you how soon can you get
here we're on our way
we've got a special delivery Jess
what's it going to be today wow time for
me to boldly go Julian
enjoy space day thanks bye dad
[Music]
you
know
[Music]
hello
hi Pat are you ready for this
uh now I think so
three two one
is is that a space suit yes it is
pencaster museum is lending it to Ted
and Lauren for the kids space day the
real astronaut space suit yes just
imagine Pat these boots have walked on
the moon wow
come on Jess prepare for liftoff
[Music]
Miss Miss can we go out and play in the
snow hold on Bill I'm just on the phone
to Ted oh
oh yes don't worry we'll start without
you hope you get the truck fixed soon
bye hello yes ah you must be Lauren
Taylor oh you're Professor Farrow oh
it's so nice to meet you
you're so much smaller than you are on
the telly
I mean don't worry I get that a lot so
is Ted Glenn around I hear he's a big
solar system fan yes he is but he's late
he he's had a puncture I mean his Vans
had a puncture
so shall we start space day without him
then yes yes of course
children look it's Professor Farrow
from the Telly
oh hello hello
everyone and Pat's on his way with a
special space surprise that's right so
whilst we wait would anyone like to ask
any questions about our amazing solar
system
okay
I think I'd have made a pretty good
astronaut Jess now oh yes open my space
rocket I'd be all alone for weeks at a
time no one to talk to just me
but I'd get used to it I'm good at
silence
oh there's Dad Bonnie Ted
[Music]
everything okay Ted oh look at your
party
no I've got a flat tire oh dear
oh what's the biggest planet that's easy
it's the sun actually the biggest planet
in our solar system is Jupiter oh that's
because the sun's not a planet it's a
star that's right then the Earth and all
the other planets travel around it yes
Mercury is closest to the Sun then Venus
then Earth then Mars oh then Jupiter
then Saturn then Uranus then Neptune wow
can you get all the way there in a
rocket you can but it would take you
about 12 years 12
is ah I'd be old like you miss
uh yes are there any animals animals or
planets oh googly eyes space monsters
yeah
well there are billions of planets
beyond our solar system that we know
very little about but no one's ever seen
space aliens at least not yet but they
don't have snow on other planets only we
have that
and we can't even play in it
Bill we're very lucky to have Professor
Farrow here today call me Ryan oh
okay Ryan
this must be the nail that burst your
tire I we don't want Matt lying around
oh I'm meant to be a new workshop for
space day oh yes of course I'm on my way
there with a special delivery hop in
I'll give you a lift thanks but I need
to fix me chai first and I've only gone
and left me Jack in the garage don't
worry Ted you can borrow mine
foreign
[Music]
oh yes from the museum
here's the Jack oh thanks Pat I'll see
you later come on yes let's get this
special delivery back on track
[Music]
like on the moon is it made of
cheese uh no the surface is quite soft
so you make Footprints when you walk and
it's covered in giant craters from where
meteors have landed I bet giant space
mice inside with big long noses
probably not mirror but you can jump six
times further on the moon than you can
on Earth
wow oh I wish we could go to the Moon
well maybe we can
is it all right if we go outside for a
while Lauren
outside oh
everyone wraps up all
here I come
oh that doesn't sound good
foreign oh no the radiator's leaking
what about our special delivery Jess hmm
[Music]
hello Pat you've stopped is everything
okay and cast are we have a problem our
radiators leaking and I have nothing to
mend it with oh dear hang on Pat I'm
trying to find a way to fix it thanks
Ben
this is just Ted's yard how's this like
the moon you'll see we're going to turn
it into our very own moonscape how are
we gonna do that remember I told you how
the surface of the Moon was soft and you
make Footprints when you walk
well we can do the same with snow
oh yeah and we can use the snow to make
craters like on the moon
exactly what a great idea right let's
get building everyone
me too
oh hey oh sorry Lauren oh
it's okay Ryan
any luck Mission Control hmm yes bit of
a strange one though Pat I don't suppose
you
have an egg no why it says here an egg
can fix a leaky radiator
Alpha and Dorothy might have eggs at the
farm they aren't too far away come on
Jess to Thompson Brown and Beyond
[Music]
this is amazing look Professor Farrell
we've made meteors
[Music]
and now you've made a crater that's just
how craters are made on the real moon
wow
all okay Ben yes speak to you later
sorry everyone Pat's having a few
problems with his van
but I'm sure he'll be here soon oh
there goes the egg Jess
now for the water
[Music]
it isn't leaking hooray
starting main engine
ignition
yes we did it
what was that
[Music]
foreign
oh no a flat tire
ah well astronauts always have to fix
things I'll just get the jack
[Music]
which I lent to Ted oh Mario how are we
going to get the spacesuit to the space
day
oh yes Jess it is freezing
I wonder how astronauts keep warm
hey wait a minute well
[Music]
ah Ted Glenn I presume what it is I'll
do Professor Farrow not been looking
forward to meeting you Ryan's been
telling us all about outer space he's so
interesting God Jose when he's home uh
that's me Ted oh really I thought your
first name was Professor uh no
oh who's partner to you no not yet we've
been waiting all afternoon oh but I saw
him earlier and he was on his way oh I
hope nothing's happened I better go and
look for him
[Music]
wow
all right
who's inside it
[Music]
try it hello everyone which part
and Jess
[Music]
this is a real astronaut spacesuit it's
been to the moon and back
brilliant and now it's been to pencaster
and Greendale great to meet you Pat you
too Professor you know when I was a boy
I always fancy being a postman really oh
yes traveling through our beautiful
Universe making new discoveries and
special deliveries where no one's
delivered before
now we've got our own Moon and our own
astronaut to go with it
yes it was one small step for a postman
but one giant leap for Greendale space
Day
special delivery service mission
accomplished special days
[Music]
[Applause]
