the dirt, and the final decision will be made

between Dewey and Leah for who gets the $, scholarship

from Intel.

I honestly can't wait to see what happens.

You've got all the tools you need to do your final touchups,

Once you run over the machines and make sure everything's

working fine, you can use the grassy area here, and there's a

smaller course over there that goes around the pond for test

driving.

Green Team, you can use this opportunity to decide who's

actually going to be driving, because I know there's still

some dispute over that.

No dispute, just... we haven't decided yet between Kim

and Deysi.

Design Squads, this is it.

We're moments before what you've all been waiting for, the final

challenge.

You guys have worked really hard this season, and now it's all

adding up to these moments between Dewey and Leah for the

Intel scholarship.

Go Leah.

Are you guys ready or what?

Oh, yeah-- oh, yeah.

Yeah, yeah.

Okay, so we have to pick who goes first.

We're going to do a coin toss.

Leah gets to call it because Dewey had it last time.

Now, the winner gets to pick who will go first.

If you choose to go second, that's your choice, all right?

Leah, call it in the air.

Tails never fails.

Uh, do we want to go second?

All right, you guys are going first.

Purple's going second, and Green is going first.

That's cool.

All right, let's go over the rules.

Remember, it's a timed race, not a head-to-head competition.

The course is a half-mile loop that each team will be doing

twice.

They're going to be facing all kinds of obstacles: a mud pit, a

hill, a rock wall, and a jump.

On top of that, the navigators need to keep their eyes open for

flags.

There are six flags positioned throughout the course.

They're numbered one through six, but they are not in

numerical order through the course.

Now, the first pair is going to be picking out numbers one, two,

and three.

The second pair picks up four, five, and six on their lap.

If you go and pick up a four, for instance, when you're not

supposed to pick up the four, you can either put it back, or

if you choose to take it instead or leave it on the ground,

that's a minute penalty.

Additional points-- it's a race, and you're driving fast, but we

want you to be safe, all right?

Put your seat belts on.

We've got cameras watching you the whole time, and for each

time you do not put your seat belt on after picking up a flag,

you'll be penalized an additional minute, all right?

Anything else?

Nope.

For all the talk, I'm still so nervous.

Everything comes down to this.

The only disadvantage is I think, in general, our team is

going to weigh a little more, so that might slow us down a

little.

Going up the hill, I think it's be an advantage to us that

we're a lighter team.

Engineering is something that anyone can do, and I think it's

a lot of fun, and I think you should really try it.

When I come to think of engineering, I definitely don't

think of, you know, anything like this.

So it's... it was so much fun.

Being on Design Squad has been the best experience of my

life.

My stepdad, whenever he does things around the house, I

always want to help, and to really be able to, like, build

things on your own, it's like, "Forget you, stepdad.

I know how to do it.

Like, I don't need your help.

I'll do it myself."

You know, even if people tell you you're a history/English

person like they tell me, you can still do engineering, and

you can still be good at it.

I usually don't do this kind of stuff, and I didn't know I

really had it in me, and now I know that I'm able to do things

that usually women don't feel comfortable doing, and this

might just, like, encourage them to be like, "Hey, you know what?

I can be a welder.

Yeah, I'm a woman-- what?

I could go weld."

And I'm just, like, proud of, like, who I have become.
